GT5 - Collector's Edition

I went to gamestop yesterday to pick up fallout 3 and figured I'd pre order GT5 while I was there, to my surprise they would not let me pre order the collectors edition, said they nolonger had that sku available for pre order. The clerk thinks its either sold out or because the game has no definate release date. SO I just pre ordered the regular edition.

Nah its not that serious, I was already at the store to buy a game, didn't make much sense to go to another store just to pre order and I don't think Best Buys gives midnight launches in my area, and Walmart is a joke. Its hard enough for them to get the game for you in the daytime hours, midnight.....forget it, I ain't trying to wait on them folks like that lol. They might not even have it entered into there inventory by that time, Walmart is soooo unorganized when it comes to game launches. I plan on picking my copy up at midnight, not the next day.
 
I've never had a problem at a 24hr wal mart. I got a few games hours ahead of schedule by accident, just by walking into the game section day before release.

2 of those games haven't released yet. And the other 2 have been out a while. Why not grab at least 1 of them in the meantime? Turn the situation to your advantage and buy a pre-used copy of F1 or Fallout. You'll save some money plus depending on where you shop, you can return it in 7 days for a full refund :D
 
I saw F1 at a pawnshop here, it was $15. Most likely somebody that didn't wait for the patch and got frustrated. To pass time till later this month (when I think GT will release) I rented ModNation and started painting a paintball gun.

It's probably legit. That's one of the codes that you get for pre-ordering the game.

No one that pre-ordered the game has the code yet (that I know of) and the release date hasn't even been announced yet! Nonetheless, I contacted him through eBay regarding how he got a hold of it. Hopefully he responds back ASAP.

He doesn't have the code right now, silly. He's just looking to make a quick buck (or 20) off the code he'll get when he picks up his preorder since he's not gonna use it.
 
Hi, I pre-ordered the signiture edition from game in the uk but i want to change it now to the collecters edition from amazon. However, I've never pre-ordered from amazon and I want the game on the day of release latest so what is amazon like with pre-orders and when do they send them out?

Ever think of contacting them and asking yourself? That would be more effective than asking a bunch of people on here who don't work for them or know their policies...

Oh, but he had a picture of a voucher type thing. But that's probably the worst thing to spend 20 dollars on, considering you can get it for free if you just pre-order it.. lol

Any canadian people have problems with their Gamestop order? I just logged into my account it says my GT5 Collectors went from Pending to Back Order, is that normal? First time ordering from Gamestop will they cancel it? If it is going to be out of stock where should i order a back up copy just incase?
 
when did you preorder the CE?
Gamestop in America (i assume there stock also includes Canada)
ran out on 10/08/10 for the most part
best bet to really assure it is best buy or amazon

Bestbuy has better car imo one to match the model included with the CE (i mean preorder car)

Amazon are pretty good usually when it comes to pre-orders. I have a CE on pre-order from Amazon and to be safe I selected 1st class delivery. At the time this was guaranteed (as best they can do, obviously) to be delivered for launch day. This guarantee is not there now as there is no new launch date, but if you do what I did you should be absolutely fine.

Well done on stepping down from the rip-off edition ;)
 
The voucher on e-bay is probably legit. Just like with other games from Sony, the DLC is usually a scratch off code or printed on a fancy 4"X6" post card that has a bar code from the manufacturer. The way it was delivered makes me think it will be in a PS3 magazine on launch. I've never seen so much confusion from a game that a lot of people are interested in and the lack of solid facts from Sony/PD. Everything is so left in the clouds and no-one can see this or that. Then don't sell it then... Just keep your treasure locked up in some safe so no one can ever enjoy your product. Not even calling sony about promo details gives any answers. wtf
 
im new here, also getting the collectors edition, pre ordered it as soon as it was announced, and game stop here cannot pre order them anymore, thats what they told me anyways, and if u did preorder from gamestop you will be getting one extra dlc car, the #20 Joey Lagono Gamestop Toyota Nascar*regaurdless of version* just figured id let you guys know with the release date *coming soon*
