Tsukuba FTW!

Can't wait to get some time on it in GT5. Thinking about starting my own Super Lap Battle series when the game comes out. 👍

I hated Tsukuba, so boring.:p Pretty sure though the track will be Indianapolis GP like Jordan said. I hope it's better than Daytona's Road Course which felt like an el-cheapo after-thought to the oval course........

Indianapolis GP track is a good track. It is very fast and a lot of skills needed.

I use/used Tsukuba for one phase of my testing, it is short with low to medium speed corners and is flat. I then use Nurburgring for the medium to high speed corners, undulations and elevation changes.

After that (among some other tests) you really get to see what strong and weak points of the cars really are.

Oh and I like Daytona road.

I like Daytona Road, it along with Suzuka is the benchmark for driving every new car I brought. Its a very challenging track, not in any way as easy as I thought it was(of course thats my fault for judging what I saw on TV the last few years). It, at least to me, offers a unique challenge as its two elements rolled into one (as a roval usually is). You can be good on the infield, but can be terrible on the oval or vice versa.

Great idea!

We can compare times with BestMotoring laps.

what's the point? our times will be faster since there's no fear factor, and we don't need to fight G-forces in the corners..:indiff:

Well the point is to see if GT5 is greater than reality, to compare it's physics with real, to see how close actually is to reality.

until they can implement fear factor and G-forces.. GT will be slightly less realistic. Besides, even if we would build replicas that are as close as possible to those cars that have been in BM/BMI hotlaps, there would still be huge differences.

Citta di Aria is the best track ever in GT, racing downhill in those corridors with extreame speed is just soo omg

Citta di Aria was one of my favs for grippy 4wd fun.
My personal fav is Red rock valley. I just hope it make GT5.

As for the GT academy demo. Top gear test track. Eeerrr probably wont be but i can dream.

Why would you dream for that? It's an airfield with drawn track on it. Just because you've seen it on tv and it becomes the most wanted track for gt5. There are far more challenging and interesting tracks.

If they have damage modeling then I'm worried I won't get a clean lap in as I'll be flying off the track to bask in the glory of crumpled metal and smashed glass... am I alone on that one?

The firs thing I'm gonna do when I run the demo is crash the car in the nearest wall. However I'm a little sceptical about the inclusion of damage in the demo.
GT5 for me has become somewhat of the holy graal and am afraid to try it for real because I'm affraid a lot of what I've dreamed and hoped for will remain in my head.

I love it too, has a really nice "flow" with all the little bumps.
My favorite track in GT5P (but only because Eiger was already in GTHD Concept).

I love Daytona Road (it is my home track aside from Sebring which is really tough on the car & is a different sort of fun).

It's a very unique circuit to drive on. That banking is just unreal. Any video game cannot do this track any justice as you don't get the same sensations.

Here's a vid taken at a PCA event that shows how awesome the racing is at Daytona. Unfortunately, that's not my car (I don't have the money to run such machinery...So I run in a (s)lower class).

Nah, a properly coded game won't have huge differences. The best race drivers take the car as close to the edge as it can get. Some of them do die, after all, so taking a car in GT5, if done right, should be rather close to real world lap times with the best drivers.

And here's one more 👍 for Daytona Infield. Love that thing. That first turn into the infield course is so tricky at speeds over 200kph. Tsukuba... not so much.

have to disagree there. the game still cant simulate stress on your body after running so many laps on a given track. games can come close to giving a comparison to the real thing but not exactly.

wait..... i just re-read what you said.... maybe you meant theres a small difference rather than a 'huge' difference.

aaaanyway, daytona road is awesome :D

Sorry to say, there is only one track that's got it all: Mugello. Feel free to disagree, I won't listen to you ;)

Seriously, I hope they got a nice challenging technical track, not some nonsense high speed "oh dear there's a right hand corner" piece of garbage ;) Wouldn't mind a fantasy course as well - new to everyone so there's no head start for anyone.

I can relate to you on 'Home track' and how unreal the banks really are. 33% is only a number until you can walk up it yourself

Sure is and when its in a car that very squirrely on braking, It can go all wrong very fast.

Hey! Show respect for the Top Gear test track! It's almost a temple for the followers of .......THEEE STIIIG!!!!

Just joking, I respect the opinions of everyone, anyway, trying to beat the Stig times would be fun, and I'm looking forward to beat Michael Schumacher's 1:10 with the FXX...

FFX was on slick tyres so they kicked out score...

Looking forward to cars I have been in, nothing exotic but clio 182, mini cooper s, 3 series BMW. Hopefully a few are inlcuded.

I think you posted in the wrong thread. We get one stock 370Z and one tuned 370Z and one track, this is not the "what car are you looking forward to drive in GT5" thread.

i hope this Z comes in other colors than the black shown lol. really lookin forward to this track and physics
