GT5 demo December 17 !

I can't wait to try out the new physics. I could care less for damage in the demo, but it would be nice if they did include it.
 
I just hope it's Indy track, been there a few times, can't wait to see how it look in the game. couldn't care less for the 370Z.

Just joking, I respect the opinions of everyone, anyway, trying to beat the Stig times would be fun, and I'm looking forward to beat Michael Schumacher's 1:10 with the FXX...

I'm with you there my friend. Knowing the Top Gear Test Track is in the game makes me smile everytime. I know it's not the most interesting track in the world as someone else mentioned, but if you love top gear, it definitely feels like it is. Trying to beat the Stig's times with almost every car on that list will be beyond fun :) Can't wait.

As for the demo, everyone is obviously waiting with anticipation to try out the new physics...that's great and so am I...but I'm just as pumped to see if there's any sound improvements. I'm hoping when I first take that stock 370z for a spin, that it actually sounds like that deep raspy beautiful sounding v6, I will be the happiest man in Australia lol.

And I'm eagerly waiting that the 1.6 liter straight four almighty engine sound of the Dacia Sandero sounds like the one I drove....:dopey:

Who else thinks the 370z looks a hell of a lot better than the 350? My mates say it's a 350z gone wrong, whereas I say its a 350z perfected

I'm with your mates. It looks like they got the 350 and decided to make every straight line curved. I loved the absolutely simplistic shape of the 350. I'll take a 350 with the 370 engine instead thanks.

The 350Z is one of my all time favourite cars.
I must admit the 370 is starting to grow on me, but I still prefer the 350Z.
 
My favorite track in GT4 is Ciruit de la sarthe and in GT5 it will be Spa my prayer come truth!!!!!!!!! Sorry for bad english am from Serbia:D
 
I wasn't that big on the 370Z when I first saw it, but it grew on me and now I like it better than the 350. Its aerodynamic shape looks so much better. Just look at one from the side, it has a similar shape to the GT-R.

Both look like Porsche wannabes, but I do prefer the 350z. The 370z is a mess of curves that don't really do anything to enhance the looks.

First - Although I'm not in one of those counties that eligible to compete I'm very happy and looking forward the demo (I'm from Israel).

Second - for all of those who complain that this Demo is "only" 1 track with 2 cars (or 1 with 2 variations) - did you ever download demos of other games? For example FIFA demo or PES demo only delivered 2 teams (1 for each side), no options to set time, penalties etc. Only one game with 2 teams. But by downloading it and playing it anyone can feel the game graphics, engine, feeling etc.
It's not the quantity, it's the Quality that counts !!!

Is there nothing else that you guys can unload from the PS3???
for example, music and video or photos... those things can be accumulated rather quickly!

With the news of the Demo coming, i have decided to clean up my PS3 harddrive this weekend as well... This has become a matter of urgency: I have a 80GB and it's full too (< 2GB left :p )
I have too many useless Videos from NFS SHift that takes too much space...
I am going to clear all that...

If really you cannot help your brother clean up his HD... i am sure you have a friend nearby you can go squat his pad to play the PS3... No?

You can always buy a new bigger HDD (250GB, 320GB etc.) from some PC store and replace the old 40G/80G disks. Prices are pretty cheap now a days and you can find manuals on the net of how to do it including backup.
You can even make a deal with your brother that you buy the HDD but 80G belongs to you only !!! or even set a time sharing schedule to play.

Why would you dream for that? It's an airfield with drawn track on it. Just because you've seen it on tv and it becomes the most wanted track for gt5. There are far more challenging and interesting tracks.

Exactly why i want it. Its an airfield with a draw on track. Would make a nice change to track closed tracks with grass either side.
Would be nice to have an open airfield when i can try drifting in the masses. TV appearance and Top gear just made it more interesting.
Of course for the demo a circuit track like donnington etc etc would be more suitable.

350z isn't that good looking but I really like the aggressive, yet so beautiful, design of the 370z.
 
So who here will be very competitive?

In GT5Prologue with over 70 cars and around 10 layout tracks, it was easier to pick less popular car and less popular track and get a top 50, 20 or top 10 spot.

Now with only 2 cars and ONE track, it will be super hard to get to these top 100 spots. I think I will have to really spend couple hours every other day and really practice the heck out of the track! Download all top 10 ghosts and see how they race, study every move, and try to duplicate it. Man it is going to be a tough cookie, but I will give my best!
 
I am really excited about the demo, I am only hoping the demo will work with my new Fanatec Turbo S wheel or I will be forced to dig the G25 out of the garage.
 
I read that you do a lap in both the tuned and standard cars. It is the fastest combined total that wins.

This is for the US and Canada anyway - but I can't see why it would be any different for Europe, after all, the more seconds there are, there more room for improvement and difference in lap time.

I'm just wondering will everyone be locked to the same settings or can we tweak the cars? Obviously auto and manual will be adjustable, but what else? Did anyone else compete in the first GT Academy trial? If so what settings were used? cheers :)

The feature's already in GT5P and it's working out pretty well so I don't think PD would abandon that feature.

Depends if they think it's an unfair advantage, I'm just being paranoid but if this is just for finding the best driver there will be no set-ups, no damage, no top lap times replays.

I think it is made purely for finding a good driver then the new physics engine is all that is needed.....unfortunately.

I'm thinking the same thing. This demo is mainly for the GT Academy. Downloading the best times would be cheating really. Let's see what happens but I wouldn't count on it.
 
I agree... I think the competition will be very fierce. I will probably do well in the beginning (top 100 or so) but then fall of the radar after a week as the real good players start to perfect their driving lines and braking points. When GT5p spec III was first released I was posting 100 times no problem but a month later I would always get bumped off. Now top 100 times take quite a bit of effort to achieve.

Seriously, if you watch the latest GT Academy video on GTTV (in GT5P, just recently uploaded, at least to NA GTTV), the competition begins when those who made the invitation to Silverstone start competing. That's when the real scrutiny begins and the way GT Academy eliminates those who just don't cut it, is pretty methodical that you can't really cheat your way through even if you could/would do it at home. The guy who made the last one, Lucas Ordenez is just naturally gifted and most probably a great learner.

This is exactly what I figured out, but after months without even a new video, the demo is like oxygen to the fans. PD is giving us the chance to try on the new physics model, I just hope that they accept the critics if the physics were not realistic as demanded by the fans and don't try to rebuild the model as they did with damage.
