It actually showed the God of War Collection which is out now.(It's both of the ones released on PS2)
I just double checked, and I stand corrected.

But if you actually go to create your wishlist, it is just the PlayStation.com profile wishlist, which doesn't limit you at all. All that does is allow you to email that wishlist out to people. It looks like a case of a poorly designed ad.

Came across this earlier and I love what I just heard..err, read rather. We'll actually be getting a real GT5 Demo and I don't care what new track made for GT5 is, I just can't wait to drive it :D As for everyone complaining about their countries not being included, you could just go over to that specific country and apply for residency (assuming you can do that in the two weeks before the 17th and there isn't a clause where you have to have been living there for more then a week).

I hope we get a new track that was not in GT5Prologue as well not the Tokyo track.

Get it while it's hot!

he Gran Turismo 5 Time Trial Challenge contest will run from December 17, 2009 through 5PM PST on January 25, 2010, and the game itself will be removed from the PSN store on the same day.

Where do you see it? All I could find were a few old (November) GT Academy trailers on the EU store and nothing on the US store.

please nurburgring. Please! But whatever the track is, I will be very happy to get a demo of my favorite game. I will play the crap out of it.

As title says new trailer available on the store to download.

Ok im in USA, our store have not been updated yet.. What do you see in the trailer? Cars? Tracks? damage? give all detail you can. Thanks.

It's a Time Trial which is quite different from drifting. The latter is point based, the former as the name suggests is time-based.

I seemed to have missed the "time trial", I only saw "drift" and "small section of course"...

They refer to a proper racing license. The overall goal is to take someone who has no real world race experience and turn them into a racer.
If you already have a racing license (and have spent time racing) then you would fall outside the selection.

Thanks for the answer!

I have the eu/na/jp accounts and I can't see anything...
EDIT: found.

I haven't entered before, but from what I gather, you download a track and two cars, set lap times in time trial mode, then load your times to an online leaderboard.

The top 20 (i think) fastest players from each of the countries listed will go to a race track in their own countries(from here on in, we're no longer talking about gran turismo. You will actually be racing in real life.), where they will compete in a race weekend in identical cars.

The winners of those national heats will attend an international race weekend (dunno where) and the winner of that (and possibly a runner up)will be employed by nissan as a racing driver and will compete in low level gt racing (like GT4). Providing you do well, I imagine you will move up the ladder into more difficult categorys.

Basically, it's your chance to become a racing driver, but you must prove yourself worthy in the game first.

EDIT:

Ok, that clears things up a bit.

Awesome.

Seriously..?..DAMN that's unbelieveable. I hope that the US will be included some day soon. It can gives us a Very good reason to play GT often.

I don't have a link as its on the ps3 store not from a website.
I'm in the UK. You might not get the trailer in USA as you can't compete in the academy.

Is int the new DEMO for US and CANADA for competition?
Never mind, we only get a Free 500 mile race tickets! .. and a hotel..

The track, atleast for the US and Canada, will probably Indy, because that's what this whole competition is about. You win, you go to the Indy 500 2010.

Well to me, I finally get a chance to go to any race, period and not have to pay a huge amount for tickets along with all that access to carb day, all the events and pit road access. Sure its not the same as actually driving on a track like the primery event for the countries are but I actually get to attend a race for once. All those set backs I've had every time I had a chance to attend one and finally this could be it for me(assuming I even make it in the runner-up spot).

I would love if different PS stores get different versions of the demo, that would mean more content for us to play. Creating an account in a different country besides your own isn't that hard. Now...I can't wait to get sideways! Let's go! lol
