I've figured out how to edit the hp of cars and have made some beasts. Hoping to make a breakthrough with drivetrain swaps etc.
 
This thread has been an interesting read, so many for and against arguments, all with great points, But in saying that I almost totally agree with what R1600Turbo has said, I would like to see a way of mking more realistic mods, like if I want to swap out the the Mach 1 mustang V8 and drop in the ford GT 5.4 litre then we should be able too, its been down a thousand times in real life, doing things like 50,000BHP buses is just silly, and for being so daft as for taking it online, if you get banned you deserve it,

Is it possible through this hybriding stuff to giva cars downforce points on the nose?

Say for example, within reason, if I wanted to run a dead even series would I be able to implement the same chassis under different bodies,
Like a V8 Series, where you could put the V8 falcon chassis and engine into the Commodore and have it generate the same downforce points?
 
The problem is that's not your line to draw! What you deem realistic or unrealistic is useless and just a matter of opinion.. Same with who should and should not get banned. What does that have to do with this conversation? :confused:

As to your other questions yes I think so..

I have Fiat 500 F on a FGT chassis, 150 lbs downforce front, 200 lbs rear. So i'll say yes that's possible.👍

EDIT: Come to think of it! It be a F2007 chassis? Not sure :confused: Definitely not Fiat.:dopey:
 
As for having a car with 100,000BHP because your PC tech savy then IMO you deserve to be banned, I would assume you wouldn't like it of you were playing COD and someone turned up with a GOD MODE mod,
And if you take that online then your just a selfish bad winner and you take away the point of console gaming, it was meant for simpletons like myself who pretty much just button mashed their way through pong and mortal combat, and enjoyed others creations, and also did not have the budget to by the latest and great PC everytime a windows came out because the old MS-Dos PC couldn't handle modern Windows '98 powered games and so on,
And being able to go from 0-Aspec 40 in 8 races, that's just rude to us pelicans, Its grinding all over again,
As for everyone using them offline, that's great keep it away from me, unless you wish to show me something of some form of relevance, like a 1200BHP GTR, which I have driven one in real life,

As for the concept of what can be realistically achieved/ replicated through this process then I support it, If you are able to equalize road and race cars to create a series like V8SC or DTM or even reverse it on the FGT or F1 so that its limited to 20-35 points DF on the nose with 310BHP to make an F3 series?
The possibilities are endless and even you have to admit some of these creations are just down right stupid,

Its pretty clear to me after reading most of the posts regarding the destructive practice of using hacked cars or hacking GT5 in order to get your jolly's is a big mistake. Hopefully PD will kill the the topic on this site by squashing the practice before it does real harm to the game. I posted a few things yesterday that I should not have regarding any possible responsibility that GTP has regarding Hacking and I take that all back.
The responsibility is in the hands of GT5 PD and the players themselves. Players who want to preserve the integrity of the game should contact GT5 PD and do what ever they can to circumvent the destruction of GT5.

Report players who hack of have hacked cars for violating TOS
Block friends who hack or have hacked cars
Contact GT5 to voice your complaints.

I think a patch to stop any hacked cars from being used for online or Bspec or Seasonal events would be perfect. Arcade mode or offline only would be fine by me.

I wonder what else can be achived with editing the game save in Hex other than just hybrid cars, I wonder if anything could be done with the course maker as it is so limited in the game.

One thing I think would be great to see is some longer tracks, especially for Mt Aso. It's impossible to get a Mt Aso course longer than 2 miles, Would be amazing to have some 6 mile long Mt Aso tracks as a Touge fanatic.

But I expect anything to do with the course maker isn't on the save file and is contained on the disc it self.

I could be wrong but that is exactly what the original "hacker" wants to happen. From what little I understand he is waiting for the patch before he releases the garage editor tool to the masses.

P.S. This topic is a discussion about hybrids. There are plenty of other topics available for people like you to voice your opinion in.

I'm not saying ban everyone, there are people who will use this things for their own amusement, which is entirely o.k. to me, but with all things aside there are going to be huge dongs out there who are going to use this just to own up online and this is the only part I'm against, they are the ones who need fixing, not the people who are exploring the limits of what the game can and can't do,

All I'm asking from you guys is to use it wisely, and share the information or vehicles with due care,

As for me I can see the good in this if its used correctly, like a multiple bodied tuning prohibited race, with total equality, that would be something cool, or even some form of racing series with tuning but it would all still be equal,

This maybe off topic, but seeing as you can manipulate the cars, is there possibly a way to manipulate the track editor?
 
I'm all for the hybriding, i myself have a 1100 hp supra and that is it. But if there is a patch, have it so modded cars can be used in your private lounge/friends lounge's. Most of the serious racing imo is done in lounges anyway between friends and clubs.
 
I just thought of something. If PD does watch this site, don't you guys think they would see these posts that the program won't be released until the modded cars are patched to not be used online, and just simply not make the patch, leading to the program never being released?

I don't think PD employees search this site for ideas. Maybe they do.
 
There is a possibility that they may just ignore it seeing as according to this site there has been an audio leak of GT6 coming to PS3, so they may see it, ignore it as its so close to being put to pasture and try prevent/ alter it in GT6,

Or if this generates enough hype, leave it as it is and allow interest and sales to increase of copies of GT5,

They're just trying to get your hopes up. They won't release a game when a system is coming out in just a short period of time. The game would be very incomplete.
 
well.... it would be like reselling GT5, I bought it, got it at the midnight release, played it for half an hour, then ignored it for 12 months,

Ok, maybe they have tried to take some evidence in conjunction with my claimings here and haven't found any. Just because I didn't leak any of these creations :)

And now being serious again.

From what I've read about the coder of a tool that quite a lot of people are requesting lately, I share his opinion that PD should fix it.

But I have my very own approach to a "fix":

Judging the stuff I've discovered until now, it should be easy going for PD to implement a check if the car is still "genuine".
If parts do not fit the car (or other parameters are obviously bent), offer the user to correct it or just disallow online access/gifting/sharing/a-spec & b-spec usage of that car.
Or even better: the hybrids should be allowed online access, on SPECIAL PD servers where they are jailed in a "sandbox" with ONLY other hybrids. They wouldn't even be able to see/compete with normal cars. Just hybrids. Everyone would be happy, except for the hybrid users with the lower power :lol:

This would ban these cars from being used as exploits and still allow their usage in training (where I take them for a fun ride) and arcade mode.

But I think it will remain a dream for me.

I'm somehow in between. I do understand that folks are totally upset and don't even realize that their shift/caps-lock key is broken while posting here.

On the other side, there's still so much left for me to explore that I'd willingly won't go online with my PS3 until I think I'm done with digging around.

Ok, I'm finally shutting up on that matter. Didn't receive any PM with any engine number at all.. Doesn't matter, my undisclosed original question is kind of answered..
 
I can totally agree with you, so much good can come from this its stupid, things that should have been optional in your garage/ MY GT, and or in online lobbies,

As for locking them in a sandbox, that would be extremely difficult and would assume it would be quite an expensive effort,

But like CD burning, the companies should have realized that this is entirely possible eventually, so its their "oh 🤬" moment, not our issue,

But I ask once again, has anyone tried to manipulate the track editor?
 
X R 8 will you be releasing these programs any way to lighten the mood got myself a 12,000 hp samba bus along with a 7,000 hp shim wagon and a 71,000 veyron

There are enough people screaming that PD will release some kind of "fix". If not I'm sure things could escalate to where PD won't have a choice. From the sounds of things others are making realistic cars that could cheat in online rooms. This means PD has to do something soon I would think.
 
Can someone PM me a car list of hybrids so far, BHP weights and PP would be much appreciated too,

Yea i agree, taking wheels from the Plymouth Superbird and putting them on the Ford GT Spec II Race car like i did in GT4 would be so awesome!:D I miss the wheel selection they used to have in GT4.
 
Ok... online cant be any more broken now, 6mil hp cars are popping up here and there. A BRZ, an X2011 etc. These are DLC cars so people can't borrow them, they also have -90,000PP... oh, and all i'm gonna say is NGU...
