Sony would be crazy to release both GT5 and the motion controller at once. People do not have that much money (GT5, DFGT, PS3, Motion Wand, PS Eye etc).

If you can spend money on all that, the wand would make little difference on your budget. Besides, the wand is totally unrelated to GT5 (not going to be used in the game) and basicly is for another target audience.

So all this talk about how this delay might be linked to the delayed wand sounds very unrealistic to me.

But a lot of people do have enough money for one or the other... and that was my point. And as far as being unrelated, its advertising space. Its not wise to push multiple high profile products at the same time.

That's a very solid statement to make without any evidence.
In fact there is more evidence to prove otherwise.

Not that i disagree, just i don't make up facts.

Yamauchi said they wont use it in GT5, but he could imagine to use it like something as a mouse pointer.

He also said they were finished and could release anytime before announcing the game was about 90% complete. Sony told us march 2009 then march 2010 in japan and now perhaps at some point in the future.

Forgive me if I don't believe anything these guys say anymore. If the release gets pushed out another year I'll guarantee it's for something dumb like wand integration.

I can take the pixilated trees, no skidmarks, sounds that is somewhat of, no reverse lights and so on and so forth, but what bothers me is the fact that we have an awesome in-car view and shifting animation but that the HANDS of the driver morph through the steering wheel!!!? If you're gonna do it do it well...:scared:👎

Maybe they decided to delay the motion controller so it wouldn't get in the way of GT5's release? Meaning it would get released this summer.. Just speculation.

I bet on that !

BTW, did you see that video ? Nice camera changes 👍

If they are going to do it well, they will do it in the final game.
Again, what you saw is a demo.. a stage demo, mind you.

Anyone else notice the smoke coming from the rear wheels at 1:09, that is pretty awesome

I don't know if this is new..

Can sameone give me same updates about GT5 since i have not been able to get online for a while.

Is release date still March 2010

Any specific details about GT5

I havn't seen this video before (posted by Coiler (good find!)) and it shows off the Tokyo track really well. A couple of things i've noticed from this video that i have not seen in others:

1. Quality of reflections appears better than in any Nurburgring video see 1:36 and 1:56
2. Cars appear to have some kind of glow effect not present in any other track demo see 0:04 and 0:17
3. the braking tire smoke reported by Crycek at 0:21 and 1:09 which looks very different to the screeching round corners smoke found in prologue.
4. i couldn't see a single 'car board cut out' tree that people are complaining about in the nurburgring video.
5. At the end of the video, the graphics of the piaza seem to be greatly improved (or at least clearer) than the E3 2009 anouncement video.
6. Only one bad thing i hope they'll fix for release is the really poor pop up (or pop out!) at 2:10

Another intertersting find is that ps3.ign.com have released the E3 2010 Exibitor list for the event held in June. Polyphony digital is not on that list. You would have thought that if GT5 wasn't released by June then they would be showing off the final version at E3?

Do you think Nurburgring is a red herring?

Polyphony digital was not e3 2009 exhibitor list too but they showed the trailer...Polyphony Digital is Sony so SCEA in e3 2010 exhibitor list..PD will prepare trailer in e3 2010 100 percent.. it will have release date

If it were to release in June they would start the main marketing campaign a few weeks before E3.

Take look at this...

Maybe it's just the photos but... it looks like paint strips are 3D...

Well you are totally right. If stripes are 3D ... good work PD. You've been working on 3D stripes??? It's ok to have cardboard trees, but 3D stripes? Awesome.

And about that smoke from tires. What's that? NFS Prostreet?

This is common, but it's rather a defect than a wanted .effect

It will make the roads feel more real, its slippy irl and not flat so it has more bearing on the driving experience than 3d trees. Specially if there is wet weather.

I might be wrong but the glow could be cause of 3D implementation or what not.

This is nothing new.

Also note at 2:11 , the rear view chase shows a whole block of buildings suddenly disappearing!:scared:

I guess this is the type of thing they are "putting the finishing touches" on.

you got the eagle eye

But those wheels were the official gt4 wheels or something weren't they? I say get a DFGT now, while they still have them in stock. Only 1 wheel within a 50 mile radius of me was available at best buy. It's only $100...

I'm from Australia and there are TONS of DFGTs all over the place. http://www.gtpla.net/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Lol, I probs should've said that before soz

Another question: did many stores (in US or Australia) sell Driving Force wheel with GT4??? If so, would they do it again with the DFGTs and GT5??? http://www.gtpla.net/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif
