Also note at 2:11 , the rear view chase shows a whole block of buildings suddenly disappearing!:scared:

I guess this is the type of thing they are "putting the finishing touches" on.

No thats just a necessary feature, because the 'draw distance' needs to be focused ahead of where you are because thats where you are looking. It was like this in previous games too, background features behind you disappeared shortly after you passed them to save RAM, processing power etc. for the things infront you can actually see.

Although, Tokyo has a reverse track aswell, maybe they did the same thing in each direction to accomodate both. To know what i mean, race on Laguna Seca or the Nurburgring in GT4, turn around and race the track in reverse. The features are clear when going around the track normally, but when going in reverse everything changes to lower quality and distance etc.

Though its a replay so i'm a little confused as to why that still happens... For replays it should be always there because it doesn't need to be rendered in real time at 60 frames...

Although replays only run at half the frames per second, all the extra replay effects, lighting etc, require a lot of extra processing, negating the saving. I would also take into consideration that field of view at any one time is generally far greater in a replay.

Take look at this...

Maybe it's just the photos but... it looks like paint strips are 3D...
Wait...this is completely awesome, if only a tiny detail! I mean stripes on normal roads are raised and have texture i.e. you can feel them...this is something I never really thought about adding until I seen it here.

We know developers work on kerbs and off-track textures but less on painted sections of actual roads used for racing. This is excellent.

i think that is just a motion blur :-(.

We already know from the Time Trial demo that the painted stripes on the ground give less grip than the track surface. They may not be 3D, but they do have a different grip level which is what matters really.

Probably because it was turned off on the demo.

do we have some news from European Motor Show in Brussels??

ZzZzZzZzZ.

I wish I could be safely put into acoma until GT5 comes out lol!

Or freeze myself like Cartman did in South Park waiting on the Wii to be released.

So, more than a day later and still no one has uploaded scans or comments.

:ouch:

Out of the 130.000 members of GTP nobody is japanese or has acess to Famitsu to buy the magazine and tell us about the feature?

Hopefully ONE people will show up.

Guys at Neogaf have a weekly famitsu news thread, but most of them are JRPG fans, we asked about the GT5 feature and nobody answered.

Oh well...

All we need is a scan from page 264! But i guess there is nothing new. PD would have announced it. Right?

Now, i got love for nurburgring and everything, but isnt it getting a little bit like the whole tokyo situation....At least show some cars driving in madrid or rome....

or a brand new track we haven't seen yet. A whole new thing altogether.

Hello guys!

Just opened my brother's OPM Magazine (Belgium),
and there were 2 pages about Gran Turismo.
No new information actually, so I didn't start a new thread...

The only thing maybe worth saying is that they mentionned 70 TRACKS...
Two times actually..
1) Day and Night racing on all 70 tracks, parcours
2) Top gear track one of the 70 tracks..

But... I have a slight feeling they just have taken everything from the PTOM.

See, 70 tracks. I and a few others have been saying that all along. But there are certain ones that can't be told. :) Heaps good Zimmerd.

Uhu, but it is still no PROOF.. these guys just copied everything from PTOM.
BUT I'm confident.. Certainly more than 20:). Buttt:) I don't want to start the whole discussion again:p Just hope we get new input soon.. because it's a pretty quiet period

As I already said, I DONT want that discussion neither.
I just wanted to point out GT5 was in OPM Belgium.
No need to second that, or third that, or whatever... That's no way of filling the news section neither. That's as bad as that stupid discussion about the track count.

I do hope this is the quiet period before the 'storm' comes... when the news of GT5 is gonna get flooded all over the net. :dopey:
