Wow, IGN listet GT5 for the 31.12.2010:scared:
How scary is this? I know the dates from this sites are mostly wrong... but scary...

It's IGN, expect nothing other than idiocy. Do we really need to go over the whole retailer's release date thing again? They make it up, if they put TBA, they won't get pre-orders. They know nothing more about release dates than the customer does.

Unless you see a link that takes you to PD's or Sony's websites with an exact release date, then don't believe ANYTHING you see on the net.

No wonder KY gets angry after releasing a game. With everyone complaining "this isn't right, that isn't right, the trees that I don't even see while I'm driving along at 350 km/h aren't good enough, the lines on the road don't blend properly, the cars have too many polygons but if they had any less I'd complain about that too, then the track number argument, then the ones that say "oh there's too many Skylines", and the automatic gears aren't proper, the hand movements for gear shifting doesn't look 150% realistic.. When does it end? The more everybody complains the more he's going to hold back on releasing it and the more angrier he will become so just plug it.

Rant over. Sorry, but I had to say my piece.

I have to agree.. there is sooo much whining here every now and then, im baffled sometimes.

Like that latest clip of the motul nissan on the tokyo track.. you actually have people whining about how the gear shifting is not quick enough.. what the hell now?
Im looking at it and see something great and dynamic, but some people are just never pleased.

I think most people complain to feed their ego. It makes them look like they know what they are talking about since it is harder to say you like something and point out exact reasons, it is easier to say something like "I don't like the way the car feels because in real life the tires would do this and that when the driver does so and so...etc, etc, ad naseum." 👎

The only complaint I have so far is that the Time Trial took 40+ hours away from my real life.

Hey I was just wondering, does anyone know off the top of their heads how much retailers dropped the price of the Driving Force steering wheels when GT4 was realeased??? I'm planing on buying a Driving Force GT, but I figure if the G25 wheel is going to drop in price, then I might as well get that one.

But those wheels were the official gt4 wheels or something weren't they? I say get a DFGT now, while they still have them in stock. Only 1 wheel within a 50 mile radius of me was available at best buy. It's only $100...

the dfgt retails for 150. and no one sells the g25 anymore since the g27 came out.

According to some people, the new Famitsu has a GT5 feature (i mentioned it before).
Dont expect anything, but the new Famitsu is out it seems, so we might get some infos soon.

In the index indeed...but only scans of other games apparently.. bah!

Of course it's pure speculation, but I can't help wonder if the (Japanese) delay of GT5 may somehow be linked to the delay of the Sony motion wand from spring to autumn/fall:

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/20/playstation-motion-controllers-release-date-moves-to-fall-2010/

in particular:

Kaz Hirai cited a desire to "offer an exciting and varied line-up of software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users" as the reason for the delay, and indicated that Sony will be revealing the launch software lineup soon, including first-party games and games from other companies

We know Kaz has dismissed the use of the wand in GT5 beyond being a mouse-like pointer, but that doesn't stop Sony from imposing that the feature should be included. Being able to list GT5 as wand-compatible, no matter how limited the actual interaction between the products, would certainly add considerable strength to Sony's motion wand launch line-up.

How pathetic is that wand thing. Who in their right mind would bother with that? Certainly not me that's for sure.

I'll be getting it! I have got a wife and young kid though, there's not much for them on the PS3 at the moment that's suitable so hopefully the wand will be good for the casual games. I won't be using it for GT5 though! Maybe they'll do a good bundle with the PS eye camera for head tracking?

Maybe stick the wand to your forehead, it'll be more accurate than the tracking your eyes. :dunce: I hear double sided sticky tape isn't too harsh on the skin.

Or maybe use the wand like an airbrush for car custimisation. 💡

Or maybe use the wand to spray on fake tan to your 'home' character, so when he walks around your virtual garage, he'll be spiceboy cool. :sly:

News just isn't news these days. :guilty:

Maybe they decided to delay the motion controller so it wouldn't get in the way of GT5's release? Meaning it would get released this summer.. Just speculation.

IMO this means one of two things, GT5 will come out between April and the Fall or GT5 will come out around November December this year. Sony would be crazy to release both GT5 and the motion controller at once. People do not have that much money (GT5, DFGT, PS3, Motion Wand, PS Eye etc). To me the summer seems the most logical release window. GT5 would be virtually unopposed (I guess a new iPhone would be the only real thing releasing during that time).
