Have any of my American friends brought this up yet? The collectors edition from Gamestop is only available for shipping, no in-store pickup. Right now Gamestop says it's going to ship out on the 24th...Thanksgiving is the very next day and there are no deliveries on that day. Hope I don't have to wait until Friday the 26th. :/

Does Gamestop ever ship a day early so that you get the game in the mail the day it releases?

I got mine from Amazon.com, they will deliver on the 24th. I am not sure they have further copies though. BestBuy.com has them, not sure about delivery.

Honestly, make sure the extras are worth the money and wait for the Special Edition, maybe you can just get the regular game and pick it up at your local store.

Some cars (The Citroen GT, for example) were in both Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (I'll spell it out for you) and Gran Turismo: PlayStation Portable. You can trade cars between both these games and Gran Turismo 5. If you trade the car from Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, you get the Premium version. If you trade from Gran Turismo: PlayStation Portable, you get the Standard version?

No... i dont.

The Mazda RX-7 GTX (FC) was not in GT5P... perhaps it was in GTPSP (i dont know)... but if it was in GTPSP then it was standard... so why is it also P (Premium) in GT5.

Also, the Ferrari F40 was in GT5P... and GTPSP... but its only P (Premium) in GT5.

My conclusion, your definition of what SP means is flawed.

Don't remember seeing the F40 in GTPSP.
 
do you agree that PD needs to ether higher more people to help them with future gt games .. or does Sony just needs to find a new company to continue the gt series ... ??

If you already have a more detailed model of a car, why keep the old model?


Why they should "punish" the PSP users giving a worse model without the possibility of race modifications?

It happened when I pre-ordered Tekken 6 last year.

You can say that, but the majority of cars on there were in both, so :yuck: at you ;)

Regarding the tracks, im on the opinion that there will be more waiting to be unlocked.

check this vid. at 0.14 you can see gran tour where siena is still in the game, but not on the official track list. does it tell you something?

I think you're right, it was that way in GT4.

We will know for sure in about 11-12 days or so. :)

A new company?? are you mad??? It's not so easy to just hire people, he need people who are dedicated and passionate. He's kept the same people since GT1
 
guys don t wanna get your hopes too high but i noticed another thing that makes me believe that the lists are not 100 % correct. If I remember right I ve seen monaco track in rain...i think it was in the intro movie on youtube though not sure...wherease the track list does not say there is any weather option on this track.

And if you think you're right, then say something. Go on, say it. Say your thoughts on this whole S/P theory. No? I thought so.

no to my knowledge, that has never been shown..only footage we have of monaco is from GT psp and the pics of the x1

Really? Even if I preordered in the store? Crap, I'm going to have to go check it out tomorrow. I hope my store will be getting the Collectors Edition. I might have to opt out for the Standard Edition if that's the case.

Nah, not at all. I posted in Oct 09 that GT PSP was looking like GT4:Mobile, and the ability to port over would mean GT5 was in danger of looking outdated by the time it launched.

However, being excited about GT5, and an optimist, I hoped that they would add sufficient new cars post GT5P that would keep the title looking fresh.

Based on today's car list, they haven't.

How many significant new cars have come out since then that aren't included? They've got the current crop of supercars covered--the SLS, MP4-12C, 458 Italia, LF-A, 8C Competizione, Murcielago SV, Zonda R, R8 5.2, Maserati GT S, ZR-1, Viper ACR, Veyron... only thing missing is a Koenigsegg :sly:

There are lots of holes in the lineup but you can't expect everything. Instead of lingering on what isn't there be excited for what is. I know I am :dopey:

Exactly why would you want Sony to get rid of Polyphony Digital? Because GT isn' like every other racing game, which seems focused only on exotic cars and doesn't boast the exact same track selection?

Micorsoft did it with the Forza series and look at how good F2 F3 are ??
 
PD should get some more money and more developers. Just to get it all faster done. I think some creative minds from MNR could do wonders. Only problem is that they probably don't speak Japanese.

Anyone going to their midnight release at Gamestop? I get off work at 11:30pm on a Tuesday night, so I might as well!

I will. I just came from a Gamestop and their system is not updated to reflect Nov 24. Theirs still said Jan 1. I told them I will come back when their system updates. I preordered at Best Buy which is 30 mins away (one I know that do midnight releases) but the game stop near is like 2 minutes up the road. I was told they are doing a midnight release and if so I will order there as well and cancel BB. I can be playing GT in 10 minutes vs 1 hr. So yes I will without a doubt be at GS for a midnight purchase. I will be there at 11:45pm hoping to get it early.

Until I hear otherwise, I'm assuming this.

Any other game that's coming out new, when I've ordered pre-orders before, they say "it comes to the store, even if its a HUGE game or a small game that's not popular", if you ordered it from the store, it comes to the store mailed/delivery. If you ordered it online, it can come to the store, but if due to other reasons it's not, it looks like they may be doing something wierd for site-to-store with that. I dunno that's my speculation till I call them in a few days and find out, once all this settles down and everything gets more official.
