Well if you just go by the 200 premium 800 standard and notice how the standard cars are old cars you can figure out that its basically 4/5 old cars.

I will let someone else actually count them if they have nothing else to do with their time.

:guilty:

And I bet we can't even modify standards, let alone sit inside them. What a waste of 6 years. I see no more than 2-3 years work in what they're giving us. Forza 3 is better content-wise, and was created in a much shorter period. Don't even bother calling me a Forza fanboy. I've had every GT since the original, and i've played Forza for a month, because i got the xbox free and thought, why not?

It's not just cars GT will be lacking either, tracks too.

No spa? No Motegi? :/

What's the stunt arena? I've seen it mentioned a few times, but haven't read anything about it, really.

Interesting parallel.
I wonder if they're not trying to invoke memories of some GT3 with GT5. Not with the release date, obviously, but in other things such as menu design. Everyone I know remembers GT3 fondly but never even picked up GT4.

Maybe partially to do with GT3 being released in the US as a PS2 system bundle, and GT4 being released late in the systems life, however GT4 still sold 11+ million copies.

:guilty:

Im sure youll be able to do any of the tuning. As for race body kits probably not.

Personally what you can/cant do to standard cars doesnt bother me because I only drive from the interior view.

GT1 - Monday, May 12, 1998
GT2 - Thursday, December 23rd, 1999
GT3 - Tuesday, July 10, 2001
GT4 - Tuesday, February 22, 2005
GT5 - Wednesday, November 23rd, 2010

So... GT5 is the first GT game since GT2 not to be released on a Tuesday.

But in the news page it says Nov. 24???

edit: Im in another dimesion, my bad.

I'm so utterly dissapointed in the car list. It's just depressing, that's what we've been waiting for?

I want someone to work out the fraction of genuinely new to old (gt4) cars. Guarantee it's more than 2/3 old. Sickening.

So many important cars are missing. Not just important, but KEY cars. Negligence/ignorance is not acceptable.

You should make your own racing game dude! I bet it would be awesome.

Isn't there one listed under Ford AU?

There is no new content from Australia. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

It's all recycled GT4 cars from 7 years ago 👎

Funny, thats actually what I'm in college for :)

I realise you're being sarcastic, but if I had Kaz's skills, enthusiasm and backing, I would do it, and I would not ignore so many significant cars of the past and present.

The first video of Gran Turismo 5 by you5825 "finger dude" just for the good old times when we where waiting for GT5 release date... oh, what a time ;_;

Well according to your avatar you shouldn't complain! ^^ But yeah, I also think the car list isn't balanced.

That's exactly my point. I love Japanese cars as much as the next enthusiast. Do you know what i'd do to own an Evo or Skyline? But you just can't ignore so many significant, non-Japanese cars. You have to ask yourself, does Kaz even know about the Ascari? Noble? The Merc Black? :indiff:

I just thought of something. For me the 800 or so cars are an added bonus and the 200+ premiums are the main prize. If you really look at what premiums we got it does look to be pretty balanced right?

I wonder if we'll be able to car conversions? Like the F430 into a cup car or a DB9 in to the R or GT1. Would actually take note from GT2 in that regards. Makes you think 👍

The list of important cars missing is so big, you don't know where to begin. You can't even slam me, saying i'm moaning about the cars i want not being in there, because i'm talking about cars i don't even like that we all KNOW should be in this game.

I don't know where to begin. Dissapointment doesn't cover it.

There's a a specific thread for moaning...For those of you that feel so hard done by, just dont buy the game. It is what it is, just be happy it's finally here!

I think PD are being as official and essential as possible with there announcement of which tracks are to be included with the game, that is, to be as truthful and seemingly revealing as possible while actually revealing as little as possible without seeming like they've lied, even by omission, come the day everyone receives their copy of the game.

Can't generate hype any better than that!

Balanced, but extremely lacking.

The Nurburgring needs to go. Way too long and bumpy.

The Nurburgring is where vehical manufacturers take their cars/trucks etc to test them out outside of a test course, you may hate it, but it's literally one of the best testing facilities on top of being a race track, it has corners that have multiple g's of force, a lot of uphill/dowhill, one VERY long straight where you can max out most high end sports cars, and it has 187 turns, 160 of which we know today of the popular Nordschleife version. It's quite a track, understandable if it's too long, It's still a great track tho.

I like the list. I don't like how its like 10-20 of the same car.

@danjama

Nice to see all of them put together like that. 👍

Thanks for that

I wonder if we'll be able to car conversions? Like the F430 into a cup car or a DB9 in to the R or GT1. Would actually take note from GT2 in that regards. Makes you think 👍
This. The thing I probably would like to see the most from the special few who have the game atm is to upload footage of them race converting a car. Doesn't matter what one, I'd just like to see the extent of the modifications.

Yep pretty sad isn't it, just one newer Holden and Ford would have been nice. Oh well we get what we're given.

Does anyone know or seen any info (menus etc in leaked videos) if more steering wheel adjustments can be made. Dead zones, pedal travel and the like.

Also for the wheels that have a clutch G25/G27 for example. Will the clutch be properly supported, not just like an on/off switch.

Thanks.
