I know its driving me nuts how these fools absolutely suck, they didn't deserve to get the game early my god they are awful seriously.

Let's try not to be dicks to the people who are giving us videos, unless you don't want any more 👎

in less than 10 days I'll be playing the game, so I don't care if there are any more videos 👍

I must say, the damage is really the only thing I've been disappointed in at this point. Nothing else bothers me, it'll all be fun but if the damage isn't going to be realistic why have it at all?

What you need to realize is damage isn't realistic in ANY racing games, thats probably why KAZ has never implemented the feature, he only did minor damage in this game to shut whiney little doushe bags up. Truth is todays CPU's just aren't powerfull enough to trully similate realistic damage, and even if they could that would take all the fun out of a sim.

I'd rather have this kind of weak damage that we're seeing now, rather then that melting piece off poo that we saw in some demo build.

They are not powerful enough to create a perfect realistic driving simulator either...

They shouldn't have included standarad cars at all if you can't modify them or use them for photo travel. I would rather have a few more premium cars than a lot more crippled cars.

It really is a shame in my opinion. Standard cars a bruise to GT5, they cause inconsistency in the game and confusion for new-to-GT franchise customers.

I think standards only exist to boost car count numbers and the lack of photo travel is PD's attempt to hide them from even being seen outside the game. I also think some people would get confused if they saw a bunch of low-poly last gen models in GT5 screen shots and not want to buy the game, PD and Sony likely know this.

I'll taks some damage over no damage, but I feel like if you crash head on into a wall at 150mph then the car shouldn't even be able to move. Race done

Guys... Is Gran Turismo 5 in truly 1080p? I know, its maybe old info, but im not sure right now, because one guy from CZE, he is already owned GT5, wrote "Races only in 720p". soooo how is it?

In the photo's of the leaked edition's cover it shows the resolution at the back. And from what I could make out it looked like it said 1080p. So I don't know what that other guy is talking about.

since we are all talking about damage?

Is it possible for a game to be "locked" and on release day have a patch that "unlocks" wheels on standard cars, more tracks, and more cars? Or are those patches mainly used to fix bugs?

I'll take the standard cars rather than no standard cars any day. Look at the video, they look just fine and the only people that are looking at screenshots with standards are people that know the game like us. Sony and PD aren't advertising with standards, they're advertising with premiums. Standard or not 1000+ cars is better than 221 cars

ROFL

Straws. Grasping.

No, that wouldn't work for users who don't have their PS3s connected to the internet.

IF they did that they would loose alot of sales, that would make the game unplayable to the masses, and quit boring and fustrating I might add.

And you know this as fact do you ?, That the quality of the standard cars ( which you have assumed by watching a bunch a badly filmed YouTube video's)
Have been put in just as a filler when a number of reviewers have stated that the quality passes GT5p

Not possible, some people don't have internet connection on their PS3, so they would get a limited game.

He said "replays are in 1080P but races only in 720p and upsaled for 1080p" but its not TRULY 1080p, you know...

No one is going to crash head on into a wall at 150MPH unless it is intentional or they're not paying attention. Anyone who is actually playing is going to slow down enough to either make the turn or make the crash less damaging. If you're so bad that you're crashing into walls at 150 then you won't be winning any races and you'll be frustrated and bored anyways

Quite a lame excuse for bad damage system.

That sounds like quite a complicated process, but that does sort of explain how they get so much stuff on screen running at a a smooth 60FPS

If the quality surpasses GT5P that would make them premiums would it not? I haven't heard that from any reviewers but that would be excellent.

Could've sworn you needed internet connection to even use GT Mode.

Where you hear that? You don't need a internet connection for GT mode.

So are you guys implying that if a DLC came out with Infineon, Spa, Apricot Hill, etc. the people with no internet connection would be screwed?

Yep, but Kazunori promised GT 5 gonna be in 1080p with 60fps... 60fps won't be either

So you can repair damage in the GT AUTO screens?

Then you must accumulate damage on your car over time and over many races- like dirt.

It seems to me that damage is a strategy on endurance races and a cost penalty for hap-hazzard drivers over the course of many races.
