I thought it was becoming common knowledge the GT5 appears to unlock more features as you progress through the game. Why would this not include certain levels of modifications?

I'm also going to stick my neck out and say that i expect damage levels will increase with difficulty levels. I would expect the final level of races to have maximum damage to increase difficulty.

On a small side note, do NASCAR's race in the rain in real life? Not much NASCAR footage on TV here in Ireland.

we seem to have unlocked a bit of a secret.....please allow me this jump of logic, paint schemes we know you have to collect, horns also from the descriptive text on that picture.....whats at the top? Engine tuning parts? dose this mean you can collect specific special tuning parts? Also and most importantly look right at the top of the picture.....all of these things are in a section called "Items" thats very very interesting.

When you look at the tuning vids engine tuning has simply stage 1, 2 and 3. There was also the option for a race/sports ecu as well but nothing else. Could it be you have to "earn/unlock" specific tuning parts such as race cams, pistons, cranks and valves? possibley it would seem....any thoughts?

Maybe GT5 is alot deeper and more complex than what RDK and Tekken have shown us.

Well, thats also true. Seeing how Tekken90 hasn't really progressed much (I'm just speculating because he uses a Evo IX in GT Mode), its possible that more parts and categories (including brakes) might still be locked.

And yes it does rain in NASCAR in real life. Hence why the red flag is out, all cars are stopped, and they put tarp over them until it dries (which is unlikely).

Just got word from UPS that my Wheelstandpro just cleared customs and should be here by the end of the week woohoo!!! Getting so damn pumped for this game!

Also going out on a limb here for the damage, I'm guessing that some car companies that see their cars banged and crashed up a lot have allowed PD to have a higher end of damage, where as more prestiged companies with more delicately designed cars would rather have less damage.

Maybe the brakes are in this items area as well? Would add another level to tuning where you need to unlock and collect certain tuning aids rather than them simply all being there from the start. A bit like having to collect cars you also now need to collect tuning parts........maybe also like with the paint and possibley the horns you collect 1 you can only use it once......would add a layer to the game but until we seee it can't confirm.
 
If anybody would ask Kaz for Spa, I hate his answer because I know he would exactly say this "Spa is an great legendary racing course and we are planning to implement this track in GT6" :/
 
Horn Upgrades?!?!?! Oh yeah!! they better have that Mexican horn that you hear on old beaters in the states... :p That would be great!! Passing on the straights while racing! :lol:

They have rain tires, but due to the laws of physics, most notably gravity, they can't race in the rain on ovals at the speeds they travel. Any running water down the bankings would cause the cars to aquaplane. They refuse to allow the cars to use rain tires on road courses solely due to "lack of experience" among the drivers in those situations.

There has been a race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in the Nationwide series where they raced during a heavy rainstorm.

I think the only times the Cup series has done any wet weather driving was a practice session at Suzuka in the late 90s and either a test session or a practice session at Watkins Glen around the same period of time.
 
Thinking about the "engine swap" comments, I'm now wondering if you can collect certain engines or engine parts to add? Engine swapping is a no, but that might be because the question is too broad.

If you earned/collected an engine, your not swapping are you?

Is it possible to see individual rain drops in photomode with high shutter speed?
 
It is odd than engine tuning is in the "Items" folder along with paint and horns, prety heavily croped image so there could be more things in there or they apear as you unlock them. This is prety exciting news if it turns out to be right.....follow me on this.
Say you win a specific manufacturers challenge, you get your prize money plus a sports cam kit. you can then put that cam kit on your cars, win anouther race series and you unlock say sports brakes.....ect ect If you watched teken90's tuning vid you'll see he has 3 stages of tuning but on the bottom right he has the option to instal a sports/racing ECU......this could point to this system being real

This would do two things, firstly add that "got to get em all" gameplay you see with the cars and more importantly and secondly, limit the amount of tuning you can do to the cars early on in the game, making that inevertuble race where you outclass everything on the track and you might as well be doing parade laps to win.

You could of course take this one step further, aero parts, take the Civic video we all saw, all that was available was rear wings.......maybe winning specific challenges with that car unlocked specific aero parts for just that car?

This would increase the replayability of the game hugely! and add that something special to online races. Look at it like this, your racing online and the guy next ot you is sitting in a civic which looks like it crashed through the front of halfords (every possible bit of gordy extra stuck to it) firstly it would stand out from the rest of the feild and secondly you would know the driver had put a lot of time into that car to unlock all those parts.....

Not my cup of tea and all this is just based on one photo with nothing much to back it up....would be good though!

What? You have just copied what I said. We all know there's NO engine swapping, but if you collecting car parts, then your not swapping engines.

Swap - "take part in an exchange"

So by logic and hope you might be able to put a collected engine to a certain car. Obviously not Bugatti Veyron V16 in a Fiat 500! lol!
 
Does anyone know, Tekken preferably, what the car delivery option means on the GT life main menu? Its in the bottom left corner with the truck icon.
