You're actually living in the age of GT4. The things you mentioned may be new to the GT series (OMG it has online!!!), but games that take less than half the time needed for gt5 to be made do pretty much better in many areas. All the things you listed are bound to be in a game in 2010.
We were promised the "real driving simulator", the ultimate racing game and we get half-baked damage, square cars, 180 premium cars, 70 of which we had in 2008. We don't get hood cam, the track list is plain unsatisfying, I don't even want to count how many identical nissan's there are. INVISIBLE WALLS. Indestructible tape fence. I can't believe the engine upgrades are called stage 1, stage 2. Just like in NFS. You can't even change the rims on the square Gt4 cars.
If you actually read my post, actually alot of the features don't exist in other games, or do in limited form. I.e Grid does only has one track/event that does a day to night transistion. Only F12010 has as weather on ps3- ok Project gotham 4 had rain. bits and bobs may exist in games today, but not together in one game. But the ps3 cannot do everything ( contary to their adverts

). it takes alot of time to develop, program, these features and i can be sure, that kaz has got every last drop of juice he can out of the ps3. what else can they do, other than taking you out on a date to race cars everyday. what innovating sytem can you think of that will improve GT5?
Online hasn't been disccussed that much, but snippets of info- 32 Player lobbies, 16 player on track. track days. data trelemtry/time sheets on the go, apparently racing clubs with a deep and involving community structure. One interivew, stated that theres been two teams, one working on offline mode, another on online mode, so im sure online will be pretty extensive.
games that taken half the time, have literally got half the content. or even 1/4 of the content. All the cars combined in F12010, GRID, DIRT 2, SHIFT make up the premium car count in GT5. By your admission, pd since 2008, have made 110 cars in two years, that still two games put together. ok F1 2010, has 24 cars on track, which is pretty impressive. but trust me, the five years it has taken to make this game, will be apparent in everything you do, this is a game of labour, love, and patience. this is no fifa , out every year with a few tweaks. then theirs the BONUS of 800 std cars, with the new physics, and judging by the early gameplay videos, and these recent Buggatti pictures, look pretty damn good.
Damage- is another new feature in gt5, ok it has existed in older games, burnout, and codies, have pretty much got a great take on damage. we only seem damage in various states, we not sure how it will actually pan out , but its a whole new aspect that PD have added to the game, and have had to implement.
The tracks, ok everyone wanted spa or bathurst, and there are some that missing. but 27 tracks plus variations, and a random course generator, that is a good trade! Shift only had 20 tracks plus varations. theres a good mixture to the type of course to race. Unsatisfying. meh. dissapointing i give you, but theres still alot to play with.
i been generous. i know to some extent you are flaming. and i have fallen in , and just replied back. im bored and got time on my hands.
there are some aspects in gran turismo that always need improving, normally its the A.I for instance, just to knock the bird of its perch like that.. well.
