after watching that I read this http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-racing/nascar/nascar-basics/nascar-drafting.htm and never realized that nascars use such complex methods to draft. I hope they can properly recreate this very technical aspect of the sport in the game.

👍 Excellent article! I was just about to nod off before this caught my attention. I never stopped to dive into the details of NASCAR till just now. I wonder if GT5 implemented how the drafting car also takes the risk of overheating in it's mechanical damage? A lot to look forward to in a few days.

so I was wondering if anybody knows of the stores in Brisbane Australia that will have a midnight launch of gt5. Of the few shops around me in browns plains, no. all opening at 9am.

I've tried searching multiple times through GTP but I'm trying to find that image of the GT5 logo with DO NOT DISTURB door hanger. I wanted to save that pic but forgot about it!

Someone has the link to that post?
 
Sometimes I wonder how online will work. Like will we have to use our own cars or can we choose from a selection of stock vehicles? I really hope there is an option to race with others with your own car... it would really flop if you were forced to race with your own car though. Everyone will just race with a Bugatti or something.
 
I have a question. Will it have split screen offline? Amar on his thread said no... :( My gf will be pissed if not. She's been as excited about this game as I have.
 
I thought split screen and LAN were confirmed by Sony? That's NOT GOOD! Especially with thus frickin game coming out the day before Thanksgiving!!! Where's the family fun in taking turns at the wheel. MotorStorm leanred the hard way. I don't think NFS:HP3 has split screen. Isn't it painfully obvious people like this feature?

The people here at Gamestop are useless. Here's my brief conversation with them:

Me: I have a question, are you guys having a midnight release for Gran Turismo 5?
G.A.: Don't know yet. We usually know a week before the game gets released.
Me: The game is slated for release next week.
G.A.: ...............Oh I didn't know.
Me: ...Yeah, I'll check back this weekend then.

I thought split screen and LAN were confirmed by Sony? That's NOT GOOD! Especially with thus frickin game coming out the day before Thanksgiving!!! Where's the family fun in taking turns at the wheel. MotorStorm leanred the hard way. I don't think NFS:HP3 has split screen. Isn't it painfully obvious people like this feature?

Hot pursuit doesn't have split screen and that's one of the main reasons why I didn't buy the game. It just sucks because I got my gf all excited about this game. I show her every new video that comes out and when I finally preordered the game last week she was pretty happy... now I'm going to tell her she can't play with me (if true). We shared some pretty fun moments with GTP splitscreen.

I'm going to ask tomorrow, probably. I feel better knowing my GS guys are a lot more knowledgeable than most people's. :P

Why is JB opening at 10pm and not midnight? Are they allowed? If they can sell it at 10pm on the 24th,whats stopping them from sellin it at 4 pm on the 24th then? If JB is opening at 10pm why can`t EB or Harvey Norman?

I've only ever been to 2 midnight releases, both times they opened early but then everyone just stands round like dopes waiting for the bloody thing to go on sale. Quite ridiculous.

What is even more ridiculous is that both times I've gone (One was for the actual PS3 console, the other for GTA4) I only went for the novelty of going at midnight - that is, got home, but my newly aquired purchase down on the floor and went to bed!

Hence, with work the next day, I really can just wait until I finish work the next day to pick up my copy, as I will be too tired to play that late... also I have the day after launch booked off from work (entirely coincendental) so I'll be able to play it then and all weekend :)

I'm heading out of town this week hopefully and I'll ask the people at GS there too. Maybe I can get better answers there.

i believe you read his post wrong here is what he stated

"NO MULTISCREEN OR LAN OPTIONS SO FAR."

he said no multiscreen that means dual or triple monitors. split screen is what you are talking about and im sure thats in, being that it is in prologue, and amar has not said anything about split screen yet.

Hrm. I had a good experience last month asking a girl at my local one; she knew they had a place-holder date, told me that, and also talked about the series' history of delays. She knew GT, basically.

Today, I went in to confirm I could pick my CE up next Wednesday, and it was a guy:

Slip: "Just confirming GT5 still is releasing on the 24th, right? Would you be doing a midnight release?"
EB Guy: "No, our next midnight release is supposed to be a Warcraft... something... would you like to place a pre-order for that? The 24th?"
Slip: "No. Figured no midnight release. But yes, the 24th."
EB Guy: "Yes, GT releases... *checks computer* on the 24th, next Wednesday. Did you want to pre-order that?"

*sigh*

I also found out I am literally the only person who pre-ordered a CE from that particular store in town. Heh.

Yep, the line is everything. Maybe, just maybe, on the night of the 23rd I'll be able to PLAY GT PSP AGAINST A HUMAN BEING 👍

Ahhhhhhhhhh I could have sworn he mean local multiplayer in general with split screen and lan. Phew. That's a relief. Thank you so much for clearing that up. I would hate if there wasn't split screen.

I thought 2 player split screen was on the main arcade menu - far right
It's always been there in the demos

Well, I must admit that with this one they stabbed my heart. It's a huge no-sense which goes completely beyond my understandment. I mean, that was an eaten cake, just leave it like it was in the damn prologue!
But no, they had to mess up the only thing which was already perfect since the prologue, and spend precious time in doing it. 👎

I see 3 unforgivable errors: This gosh darn visual that nobody in the earth will like, the lack of El Capitàn, and the lack of Apricot hill.

No El Capitan or Apricot Hill, I like these tracks. Are we sure that they can't be unlocked?
 
Anyone who doesn't like the "go-carts" IMO ,does not like the true essence of competitive racing. All wheel driving folks gather online and lets test our racing line skills!
