Does someone know what is the cool/hott meter in the driver on b-spec mode or what does it do?

If you push the pace, he gets "agressive" = hot. And will get tired faster.
Cool works the other way around.

So wait. PD is a subsidiary of Sony Computers.GT series is a flag ship game for Playstation.
PD must have been involved with the TECH of the PS3 from very long ago years ago (GT-P) and they did't think that needed to re-work the 3d engine? from the time SONY announced the PS3 ?

And they never noticed those Shadows before ? OH we need to wait for GT6 ?
I like PD/SONY but I don't like when company's try to feed us 🤬

I think the lack of detail in the shadows is due to bit depth, not anti-aliasing, to fix that would need a massive rework of the 3D engine. Was Kaz aware of this on release? Of course he was, I believe this was the sacrifice between such gorgeous graphics and detail and another bigger delay, besides, have you seen graphics like these anywhere else, on any other console? It's a shame it cant be fixed via patch, but in my opinion the right choice was made.

It's all in-game, you get experience points (as well as cash) for events you do, when you get so many, your driver goes up to the next level..

so I'm assuming the Buick grand national won't be available everyday? I know I read that certain cars will only be available certain days.

I'm sure now that the game is out you've been able to confirm this, but sadly, no, it wont be. Very disappointing for me not to see the Buick dealership listed. All I've been able to do is use the GNX in arcade races from the PSP import. It looks & sounds so much nicer now, though the GT4 representation was still the nicest I've seen in any game.

This is pure speculation & paranoia on my part, but I feel this whole "standard cars" thing is the beginning of segregation in the game. I'd be surprised if PD wasn't collecting usage stats on cars which will later be used to determine which ones will be cut off in the future or relegated to passive updates.

Only time will tell I guess...

I guess I have become a bit disappointed about not seeing 16 cars to a track. I haven't seen much in GT5 videos of 16 cars to a track, but 12 is still better (and more interesting than six). I have not been fully active in GT5 info, so don't blast me if I've posted inaccurate material.

Still can not wait to play this game and evaluate as much as I can for when I do get to play this title.

I just came here to say that after reading this forum and getting bogged down in damage talk and shadow talk etc I was pretty worried.

I just got the game today and set up my wheel, got all the setting right and bought a premium MX-5 '89...

So first I see a few dodgy shadows and some weird artifacting as the race starts :/

I run into a bunch of cars and get my bearings... then I jostle for position and get some clean air. I charge through a series of corners at high revs, I just lift off the accelerator a bit and the back of the car comes round. The car is responsive, lively... I have this feeling of control and can almost feel all the work that is being done in the software and hardware physics wise...

Suddenly I realize this game is AMAZING... Easily the best racer ever.

Ive played it a while now can see PD has put the effort where it counts. Now the game is just gorgeous to me... Some games might have better looking tracks at times, but in those games you can't FEEL the track beneath you like it's really there.

If you are like I was and concerned, don't be. If you truly love cars and the thrill of driving you will not be disappointed.

P.s. Buy a wheel, no excuses. (oh and I use the analog paddles as accelerate and brake, is that weird? feels natural to me)

Is strange cause the cars are yours ...and is the same thing when you download something DLC from PS Store...i lost my PS3 5 months ago with all the data inside...and at the other day i bought other and i restore all the DLC content again...

Ok thank you.It sucks that you can't download again though because my cousins ps3 is broken so he is using his friends right now and when he gets his new one he will lose all his data.So he is waiting until he gets his new PS3 to redeem his code.They expire on Jan 11,2011 though

They would be wrong. If you lose all your data on the system, you can always re-download purchased (or redeemed) DLC through the Playstation Store.

Yes but not downloaded cars.I called and asked because i am using my nephews PS3 and asked them if i download on to his PS3 using my account if when i get my new PS3 can i re-download them onto my new one and they said no,they said once you download them that they can not be downloaded again.I pre-ordered from Gamestop by the way.

So is anybody using the community tab in GT Life Mode? The online functionality seems to have potential but it's kind of tough right now to meet and greet people in-game. I was hoping to see a better integrated online...
