I'm getting a fail to connect to server issue here in Australia which suspiciously started at 2:30am GMT+10. Anyone else have this problem? I'm restarting my router now to see if that fixes it.

In Prologue, I could drive consistently say 1.20.000 with a pad. Some 5 laps in a row. With a wheel, I was able to do 1.19, but would probably spin or loose a hand full of seconds on the second lap, so I usually drove @ 90% with the wheel.

On GT5 I haven't (nor want to) use the pad, so... can't compare. And I don't even know how fast I can go yet with one car, in one track, it's too much stuff, and physics are very, very different. Still pushing the envelope :dopey:

I've always used a controller on my racing games. I adapt to them. I may switch up and get a wheel one day.

I'm in the same boat as you dude, except that it's not for the same reason... I'd love to have a wheel, but money's real tight at the moment... Controller will have to do for now :)

I told my brother about getting a wheel and he agreed with me. So whenever he get his PS3, I'll buy a wheel. My dorm room is going to be too small to house a set-up.
 
I noticed in the new car section that there isn't a listing for premium or standard. On some cars the dark windows let you know that they are standard.
How Am I supposed to tell premium from standard?
I planed on starting with the 97 civic type r ek.
Is it a standard car?

used car lot: standard

I may be wrong. Been up all night on GT5. I'll check in a few.
 
Has anyone figured out yet if we can make point to point tracks on the course maker yet? I still haven't found any confirmation of this, unfortunately. :nervous:

All cars in the dealerships are premiums and all cars in the used section are standards.
 
I think Kaz should keep upgrading GT5 to GT6 standards (add more premium cars of current models; upscale to premium the best of the crop among the standard cars, add the missing tracks (mid Field, El Capitan, Spa, etc...), Add a more DEFINITE damage model (mechanical and cosmetic), add better textures for some GT5 tracks, remove the shadows bugs and flickering, push the envelope with more grunt and roar in the sound department...) and CALL THIS STUFFED GT5 GOOSE: GT6 in 2012!!! No need to redo another game, just keep upgrading this GT5! Then when the PS4 is ready, just keep the same game with Antialiasing and Photomode LODs for gameplay!!! and you have a winner!

Friends can navigate to the same place and follow you into your lobby.

The lotus is wildly unstable at 30mph :D There is definately a bug there. I know people have supposedly done it but that's just sheer determination and luck i think.
MR cars are the best handling cars of all having the engine in the optimum place, like F1 cars. This thing is about as much fun as the clap. An Elise is actually supposed to be very solid , manuverable and responsive. This is as many have said, like driving on ice.
There is NO WAY ,no matter what anyone says, that this is SUPPOSED to handle like this :D

Why don't you try out the same car without assists in Arcade mode with the right tyre set to see if handling is wrong there too? I would do that but I don't have the game yet. :grumpy:
 
Hi everyone, purchaced gt5 on wednesday and although its a fantastic game got to say im slightly dissapointed with it. Game play and so called "premium" cars are superb but why are'nt all of the cars classed as premium? Surely in the many years weve been waiting for it to come out they could have done better than just taking the cars from gt4 and dropping them in? The cars themselves are good but the graphic quality compared to the premium cars is poor. No interior veiws, visual changes or not even being able to change the wheels on "standard" cars is very dissapointing.
Dealerships could have had more european cars tbh no newer astons, a (3 door) megane r26.r, clio 182 even the 200 and various others also no focus rs??

Hope i havnt offended anybody by saying this dont get me wrong it is a brilliant game and will continue to enjoy all GT games but just hope they bring out some cars to downlad and some of the old tracks

I've tracked an Elise twice at drivers edge and if it handled anything like in GT5, I probably wouldn't be here right now :)

Didn't it take something like 6 months to model a premium car or something? Sounds a bit much but if there patching standard cars its going to cost us on GT6.

They need to either DLC the heck out of GT5 for a year or just sort out GT6.

Could be that the 6-month figure is to model a car from scratch. By and large, the premium cars seem to be cars that are new to the series like the Ferraris, the R8, new Camaro, SLS AMG, NASCARS, etc. Maybe the process of updating GT4 cars is a lot less involved and more conducive to a patch or whatever?

But yeah, a patch or DLC that adds Midfield, Apricot Hill, Route 11, etc. would be cool if it ever came.
 
The 1000 car trophy in the game,does it have 1000 different cars or can there be duplicates mixed in?
 
I did an engine upgrade on my Challenger. But now I regret it because the wonderful sound from the original engine is gone. Got this high pitch engine sound now. Anyone know if it is possible to switch back to the old engine? I cant find any settings for it. Would suck if I have to buy a new one.
 
Let this be known, a 799hp Corvette ZR1 is not meant to be taken lightly.

Only thing you can undo from your Challenger is your ECU chip. If you added a stage 1 engine, you're stuck with it.
 
Is there any word on mechanical damage yet? When does it get unlocked? And how realistic are the consequences?
 
Lol , the Jeff Gordon video looks great , but Jeff himself moves awful and his mouth movement is just funny.

@codesing you just made me have a revelation about our B-Spec Boberts, maybe they are like us, they need track days and practice in different cars with different characteristics before jumping into races, maybe thats why some peoples Boberts didnt do so well! Interesting....

A gift car thread. If you've got a car that someones in need of to finish something and you got no quarrels with giving it away, then you can swap PSN IDs and do the dirty.

For instance, right now I need a car to finish the Japanese Classics in Beginner class but Used Dealership isn't throwing up anything and I can't see a Premium for it neither. Would anyone be willing to trade their weapon of choice with me?
 
@superveloce2010 I think a 600hp car as heavy as an M5 can burn just about any rubber! But id suggest Comfort Medium. :)
 
They need to make sure they stop people who aren't the host starting the race!!! That's a fairly major oversight.
