Spend 6 hours getting home in the snow last night then tried Charmonix and failed. Why santa why!

Just figured out the best FF settings for G27, for me anyway. Wheel setting - simulatioin, power steering - off, force strength - 1.

Any higher than "1" and it just dials in loads of centering spring and adds a jolt to the actual forces, resulting in too heavy steering, which deadens all the subtle feel, and the jolts at higher intensities are probably due to magnitude exceeding range in parts so loosing fedelity.

This feels the closest to real for me. I can now feel subtle things goin on that before even with a setting of just "3" I couldn't.

Anyone with a G27 or any wheel actually should try these settings and see if they notice the subtlties going on that were previously deadened my a too heavy centering spring setting.

Know this has been posted by me a few times (sorry) but I still can't win the yars race

in b-spec...... And my yaris has 150 bhp ?

Is this the amercian Top Gear ?

Yes - American Top Gear runs on the History Channel (oddly...) so judging from the icon in the corner this is USA Top Gear. I haven't watched any episodes yet.

Whelp, I just won the easiest $684,000 for about 70 minutes of driving. And it wasn't even Endurance.

For those of you who don't want your NASCAR game broken...don't read.

...

Chances are plenty have found this out already but just thought I'd share it, not too shabby $684k for 70 odd minutes of somewhat labor un-intensive driving.

I for one do not like NASCAR, I am lvl 21 and broke. Your post comes at the perfect time since I need to rase the cash for the 20 million historic racing car :nervous:

Your tips and information are very much appreciated. Cheers! 👍

Or you can look at our news page.

There is information already, and mechanical damage will be added by patch.

Have you actually clicked on the link clever guy?
It's just about the fact that people have been speculating that damage will improve, and PC confirmed that it does not!

Woah doing the AMG special Event on expert, i got a gold and got Cr.248,000

Try buying the Yaris Turbo from the used car classified, then enhance it with all you can.

Really? Not the Peugeot? On track/real life it was the fastest against the Audi. Is the Mazda quicker/faster?

It's just a better experience. It sounds better. The cockpits better. It's more likely to kill you. It's awesomely intense around the 'ring and Sarth too.

LOL, gotta love that!

This may have been answered before, but have anyone seen the Indianapolis GP track yet?

Anyone noticed that the European gran-turismo.com is down for maintenance again? It has been down for more than 12 hours now. US version is shaky and the Asian version seems fine although the link to the GT5P TT rankings is gone now...

the December online patch is incoming... maybe.

Most probably. I'm triggered by the lack of working links to the GT5P TT for US and all Asian sites. They must be working on the servers.

Oh Mercedes Benz SLS AMG. I made fun of your doors that open the wrong way, and mocked that silly thing you call a rear end. Even Scoffed at the idea that Mercedes could build a "Supercar" to rival the masters without the help of Mclaren... I apologize. You are... Awesome. I bow before the above mentioned awesomness and beg for forgiveness. To think, one of the leaders in soft, luxury cars could make something so stiff and racey. I am sorry.

I now have two... Yes two SLS. One, that is well pretty much a race car. Done everything, (but exhaust upgrade because I love the sound so effing much) Racing slicks, weight reduction, aero parts.. everything.

The other is pretty much bone stock. To compete in some of my fave supercar events. I adore driving this thing with no aids. The car is so happy, wagging its tail around every corner, the brutal V8 bellowing through the tunnels... This is why I bought this game. This is why Im addicted... Why I love cars!

Is it worth it to supe up the Buggati Veyron. Will it be able to turn with all that power?

First time on the forum since release. I have an issue, don't know if it's been adressed before?

Last night I tuned two cars for the Rally events, this morning they were de-tuned. (Except for the intake and exhaust) the engine, turbo, suspension, and tires were all back to standard as if I have never purchased the parts. I thought it was a false save issue at reboots, come to find out just now I purchase snow tires for a race, did two dirt races beforehand, and when I select the snow rally my tires are gone?!! Anyone know of this issue?

I am sorry, I have no idea. Just in case, and I hope it helps, every time I quit the game I do a master save. I also do it anytime during the game as I remember to.

That's what I had first thought, that the issue was a false autosave/car upgrade, except that my trophies that I won with the tuned version of my car was still there and just now when it occurred between races. I hope it's not an issue with my PS3(first gen). Last night I heard the HDD for the first time while doing extreme racing. Sounded like my pc on heavy load. Could GT5 be too much for it?! PD wouldn't do that to us:lol:

...would they?:nervous:

It is likely one of the many bugs they have yet to fix. Hopefully they are aware of this. Sorry mate :(

Well I'm going on anyhow. I will make sure I master save just in case. Thanks, dude. 👍

I'm scared to put a turbo on the Audi R8 V10, I got to well over 700HP now and its my best handling car so far, love it, but will adding the turbo be going overboard? Will it take away from the easy handling?

It appears that many of GT5's bugs and glitches are due to the limited ram on the ps3. I'm still very impressed with the things they've managed to do.

That's far from 'Spot on'. He's pretty much an arcade racer looking at the pretty cars saying they can't be totaled and is complaining about it. The reviewer is plain wrong. He's expecting the wrong things from a GT game. <<snip>>

I'm the author of the review and for better or worse feel compelled to reply here. I intentionally abstained from making any references to Forza in the review other than a quick one at the beginning to address the elephant in the room. I own and have played every GT game to death. I also own every Forza game and love the series, but haven't played Forza 3 in many, many months. I'm hardly a fanboy of either.

I do, however, compete regularly in iRacing. If you're as interested in a pure driving simulator as you say you are, I highly encourage you give it a shot. There's even a very cheap 3 month plan for newbies to give it a go. It will give you new perspective on what the term "driving simulator" means. The other sims I mentioned are also very good.

Also, if you still have doubts about my preference for arcade racers vs. real racing, here's some of my other work:

And to those who enjoyed the review and came to its defense, I am much obliged. :)

yesterday i was lapping the ring i was able to mange a 8:44 using clutch aids off , and sport hard tires, are this are the tires that are supposed to come stock the way PD intended the car is quite a handful to drive with this tire, i only finnish the ring once without crashing :(

Yeah me too, and the memory issue makes a lot of sense. I guess GT6 wont be on PS3 after all. If they would just continually update GT5 for the next 5 years, that would be ok for me.👍

I wouldn't, I have almost 800 HP on my Gallardo and it is very hard to drive. I think I went overboard lol
