I want to speed up the time like we could in GT4...

I have a couple questions though for those who have progressed further in the game than I have...

Are you able to save during the race in endurance races? I haven't heard if that feature had made it into the game. I raced a series earlier today and realized that you weren't able to save in the middle of a series (so I had to abandon it), like you could in GT3&4, so this has made me think that we won't be able to save in an endurance race either. I'd would like to be proved wrong though. Thanks in advance!

I haven't been able to save in any of the 3 enurance races I've done..

Would you like to answer my questions that is a few posts up? :sly: (Base the answer off of GT4 endurance races if you can)

I would imagine that you only get the XP once, I've been doing a couple races just for money and and haven't been getting any extra XP. Unless that is if you finished 2nd in a race, and then moved on to finish 1st in your next attempt.

:( I finished first, guess I have to grind out 200k XP from races that give me only 4440.. :indiff:

I'm having a hard time beating the "All Stars Race". I tried using the Sauber Mercedez C9 Race Car which has a lot of torque and a really high top end speed, however the car is extremely prone to losing control and spinning out. On Nurburgring for example, I can't just seem to keep the car on the track.. lol
Should I use another car? Can you guys give any info on tuning this one better? I maxed out the downforce, bought soft racing tires, lowered the car a bit more, increased the neg. camber to about 1 degree front & back and increased the braking force to 7..
Anything I should change? Thanks in advance..

Being steady is a really good way to have a good pace round the nurb without overdoing it. The Sauber is a handful, so just ginger it along if you have to. It's always easier to recover from braking too much or too early than braking too late or not enough.

Something I noticed.. was driving the Skyline R32 GTR premium in GT5 at a mates place and flicked through the views, then when I got home another friend brought over his *real life* R33 GTR, so we decided to buy it in GT5 as a premium and have a fiddle with it.

First thing I noticed off the bat was that the so called roof view on the R33 was hood view. No doubt about it, the camera is positioned as a hood view with the hood covering the entire width of the screen, compared to the normal roof view angle I saw in the R32.

Try it out and see what I mean. Make sure they are both premiums.

To be fair, free practice in this game works almost as qualifying. The starting grid is made out of best times from free practice... so..
What???
Doing practices in the free practice section of GT mode will give the starting grid of each circuit that I practiced in previously in all shapionships or what?!!!

Please make it clear. Its very important.
Thank you...:)

This X-1 challenge is insanely hard and i'll just have to spend that 20 million credits i've been saving up.

Right, I did notice that with this car. It's really easy to drive it and it handles superb, but also easy to lose control with it as well, specially when breaking entering a curve. I found it was best not to hit the throttle too soon while coming out of sharp turns, but instead tap the gas a few times, then step on it completely once you've got the straight. Or also works by just letting it off the gas, find the straight, then hit the gas. It just has a tendency to spinning out due to so much torque.

Are you using a wheel?

Sighsssssssssssssss.......That's it, I give up using this car.
I'm trying to beat the All Stars event racing with the Mercedez Sauber '89 Race Car, but just can't seem to find a way to control this car(I'm using a controller btw). I figured if I'd be able to make gold( on(Trial Mountain, Speed Valley & TokyoR246) which are the easier tracks in this championship, then this would compensate for coming in maybe 3rd-4th in Nurburgring and Capering(which I find extremely challenging), but still ending in first place at the end of the championship. However, I always end up losing control of the car and dropping to far down in the list. So, before spending 3-4 millon credits on a race car, can you guys give any input on what car you beat this event with? Any suggestions?

I've gotten 2nd with the ZR1. That's just the Nurburgring.

I heard that with a patch, coming before the end of december, we'll be able to back up our progress in the game. So, when we update this feature, can we put on the web the file of someone who has finished the game like in gt5p ?

For the people complaining about AI, I just watched 3 AI cars in a row get lapped by my B-Spec driver. Every single one of them moved off the racing line to the outside to let my driver by. I figured they'd just hold their racing line like normal.

The only times I've seen bad AI is in the Special Events, which is because they're programmed to follow a script in the Special Events. In A-Spec/B-Spec I've been really impressed.

When game saves are unlocked at the end of December does this mean we will be able to copy game saves or just back them up?My PS3 was broke for a month so i borrowed by nephews and started on there.I just got my PS3 back and i was wondering if i will be able to transfer my GT5 game save file from his PS3 to mine?

I was actually trailing a GT40 race car on Cape Ring in a 908 for one of the races I was doing and from what I'm guessing was sheer stress, he overpowered out of a turn and ended up fishtailing like crazy, eventually losing control and shooting across the track.

It was at that moment that I realized the AI has come a very long way from the days of GT4.

I have noticed a lot of the standard cars have been completely remodelled since GT4. I mean, the Volvo Estate, the Pontiac Sunfire, the Touras...the all look completely different, which means PD went back and did some better modelling of the cars.

My word. The Zonda R should be illegal. I feel like I need a cigarette.

920 HP and 1000 kg or something, not to mention downforce to spare. It's just silly fast.

How do you get it to stop slipping out. I tried it in arcade with racing softs and still kept slipping out.

I tuned it, plus throttle control. I also had traction control on 1, and I'm using a wheel, which makes the throttle control much easier.

I forget what exactly I did, but I only spent about 20 minutes doing laps and setting it up. Just read the little question mark manual about all the different settings. You want to get rid of the oversteer as much as possible without making it understeer.

Lots of downforce helps on the tighter tracks.

I noticed that too. Perfect example is the Formula GT. The car suddenly has actual brake ducts in the inside of the wheels, The tires are actually round as opposed to being polygon circles and alot of the point edges (like on the nose) has been smoothed out.
