Oh.... just got the 458. It's amazing, the grip is immense, but in the end, I'll get all premium cars.

I have both. The 458 is crazy. You seem to get into 7th gear EXTREMELY quickly. Which if you are play manual takes some getting used to because you need to get used to being in a higher gear than normal. But for me the SLS is better. Its just more fun. You only get into 7th as you near 200mph and its so much more fun. Which is saying something because I am a huge ferrari fan boy.

The SLS AMG, 458 Italia and the LP670-4 SV are my favourite cars, so I'll get them on the way whils getting other cars (oh, and tuning to the max).

Finally saw Special Stage Route 5......WOW! Out of this world! Simply stageringly beautiful. Lighting to die for! Makes for sensational replays. After nearly 2 weeks I'm at level 20 and there's just no let up in enjoyment stakes. Game just keeps on giving. Really looking forward to the updates when they land and of course ANY dlc. Still to play online but after the December updates I may partake in a few get-togethers!

Top gear challenges were damn hard, but I left them, came back, and golded all 3 pretty quickly.

Just remember you have 2 laps to get to first.

Love the game.
But I have one gripe.

Anyone else here starting to get annoyed at everyone's car being modified and never ever stock no matter how fast it was in the 1st place.

I had a Lambo SV and LOVED it stock, did a 6.55 around the nurburgring.
I dont mind so much slower cars being tuned.

But when all high performance cars sound essentially the same its just a bit weird to me.

I just felt tuning the nuts off the lambo would make it a different car, not the lambo I love.

Anyone agree?

Or to remedy this.. PD could add a (TUNED) or (T) after there username or car name in race and/or in menus.

Then when my lambo gets overtaken by an obviously slower car going 190mph+

I... And everyone else can see the car isn't the car it claims to be.

Makes me look crap because its not obvious the other car is basically fake.

This was a result of someone creating a custom track that had one hell of a jump in it.
THeres a thread in the Photo section (Flying Bus or something)

He shared the track so others could get it.

Could we please not quote 18 pictures multiple times? Just quote one of the pictures, or just say "Pics of flying cars" instead of the quote.

Can't believe they got a VW bus to fly that high, especially after my Top Gear challenge experience. I honestly can't believe it's slower than my real life car.
:nervous:

I wrote a review about the game that covers most aspects of it. I'm not sure where to post it? Here's the link, if this is the wrong place then tell me and I'll repost.

Gran Turismo 5 extensive review

(I played the game a lot before I wrote the review, unlike some other gaming websites out there. :guilty:)

I say 458 Italia. Just because I have one. :) If I had both, I'd give you better reasons. Maybe somebody else on here has both..

no man, the sls is much better and more fun to drive than the 458.
more grip, power, everything, i love that car. even the slr mclaren doesnt compare.

This is a n00b question, but I can't figure out how the online works. Where do you go to find what races are available? :P

Click open lounge on your home page and wait for races to load. Alternatively you can go to the community tab and click on your friends profiles, if there is a yellow icon next to their lounge icon (coffee cup) then they are currently racing online. Click that to join them.

I see, I guess I'm not waiting long enough. I thought that was for me to host races. Cheers.

Ha! I got the Minolta!!
I thought "Like the Wind" was gonna be a difficult event to beat based on the other people commenting here.. What an irony, I won gold on the first try with the 89' Sauber Race Car, the car that's been giving me a hard time on the "All Stars" event..

Time to try the "All Stars" with the Minolta now :)

I smoked the All Stars with my Zonda R that I won. My total time of victory over the 5 races was probably something like 6 seconds, with the Ring coming within 0.8 of winning, but I won all the races.

Had to drive pretty well, but I did it.

In other news, why do people like the Yellow Bird so much? That car has the most oversteer of any car I think I've ever driven. Going in a straight line and touch the wheel? Spin. You can't even THINK about steering without spinning out, it's crazy.

I managed to win the Schwarzwald B event on Cape Ring with some good driving, but I just can't handle that car on the Ring.

Just thought I'd mention that the last Nascar race you do in the Special Events is rigged to the core. That red car keeps the same pace as you while the rest of the pack simply disappear into the distance. Rigged much?
