You are probably right. They didn't learn from their last mistake. So this will be the reason that GT6 took longer than expected.

Now they will be working on three games. Maybe another reason why there are two studios now.

If PD makes a version for the Vita we are saying that production time on GT6 and updates to GT5 will be hindered.

Ok, but what has happened before that I had to remember? GT PSP perhaps? I don't know. I don't see anything wrong with it, a nice little portable game for a GT player. I'll be patient. :)

I've certainly missed something in this, so what is it?

Apparently, GT5's developement was "hindered" for 5 years because of essentially a stripped down, GT4 PSP port, at least thats what I"m getting at.

Edit: Treed

So back to a semi on topic regarding news and alike I am taking a guess that mid next week we will get a update of some kind when the whole Easter thing is over.

Exactly! Pretty sure the PD Staff don't wanna be stuffing around with a video game during Easter holidays when they can be with their families. All this panic and nonsense "oh em gee there's no news Kaz oh deary me its terrible!" Seriously people eat some cement and harden up, I'm sure there will be news on DLC this week or next.

They were working on far more that a PSP version of the game, let's be honest here.

Japan doesn't see easter like western cultures, they are gearing up for GT Academy and that is part of the reason for the delay. Kaz even said this via twitter earlier this week. Eat cement...your analogy was creative to say the least, but people are only on PD because of a every two month promise given by the main person (Kaz). I myself didn't take it for face value but others did.

But the do celebrate Easter, or something else at that same time?? me thinks.

You do realize they are still on schedule, right? I dont know how many times its been explained. cheers

Eastern isn't an international and/or universal holiday, just because some areas celebrate it mean nil to them or areas that don't. An area that they happen to live in.

I haven't seen it and I spend a good amount of time on here, and have yet to see someone coherently explain how they're on time. Also maybe you just didn't read my post but I wasn't saying primarily me who believed PD are not on time. However, looking at it from the last release to now we're coming close to three months which is more than two. So I mean if you can show me where it has been explained since your comment shows it's been done to a nth degree. All in all is you do realize that I wasn't critical of PD's schedule but telling how others were. If you really read it you'd see that I don't care, to me it will be released when ever PD can or want.

Well if you understand it so should others, it's not that difficult to me. Also not "nuff said" that isn't an explanation that's just banter. October - Dec is two months then they did the Jan one. Thus the next one should have been in March, are you by chance PD's PR guy cause it may be a nice job for you.

This is why I say PD will release it when they wish, and why I don't follow the two months. However, I do see where others are coming from. PD said they had a pool of stuff to give us DLC wise, thus March coming and going without it doesn't make sense to their standpoint. I see where the people are coming from, Kaz never came out and said "we will release February DLC one month early". Anyways like I've said people defend but also hold the gun to PD as if GT is a dogma, sad really.

I have a vita but I don't want a GT game on it. GT is about great graphics and the full experience, this can only happen on a PS3 or PS4

No. That just means that the Feb DLC came out early.

Look at it this way. Imagine you are at a station watching trains come in.....the train on Platform 2 is due every two hours.

First train comes in at noon right on time.

Second train comes in at 1.45 (15 mins early)

That doesn't mean the third train is late if it doesn't come in at 3.45. It's still not due until 4pm.

Sorry for going off-topic but why the sticky thread are no longer stickied ?

I was thinking the same thing

Please refer to the new sticky thread.

There was over a page height of stickies (on a 17" laptop screen) and a lot of the information and help in them was being lost by people simply scrolling past them (having already scrolled past all the subfora). The new sticky replaces them but links to and describes each. Hopefully it should increase the level of the relevant threads being read and decrease the number of threads being created that ask questions they already answer - though that's never going to hit zero.

Look I already understood where the last one was coming from, and I'm glad you gave a nice image. Just don't agree with that work ethic or philosophy. First off your time frame isn't proportional to what PD have done, most places adjust the time frame if there is any type of change in original set up.

I've never known any business or any organization to run the way you guys are explaining, this isn't store credit or like paying bills. If you go work 4 days a week but pick up a 5th work day one week, it's fine for you to only work three days the next week? I say this because this is the break you've given to PD, however just like the work scenario it was a choice to pick up the extra shift as it was for them to give us supposed "early DLC". Which I still have yet to see anyone give me a dialouge or interview release from the company saying or suggesting that slated February DLC would be given in January.

Also if they have DLC planned early enough to where they can get it out a month ahead, like you guys claim then readjusting back to the two month frame from the last point (January) shouldn't be so hard. Especially when the same company said they had plenty of content for DLC. Oh and here is an article that that talks about the plenty http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2011/11/11/kaz-on-gt5-dlc-and-gran-turismo-6/

Why am I so critical, well like many though I don't play GT5 too much, I am still a fan of the series and believe that PD should be more responsive to fans. There are many other sims racing games that do it, why not PD? A simple we're going to shift full time to GT6 or hey guys we intend to slot DLC for April would all suffice. That is what I think many others are just wanting to see. The other reason I'm critical is because too many people defend this game.

Remember that even though they have a lot of content ready, it's been mentioned several times from the PR and Translator-San that tough decisions are being made in regards to what goes for DLC and which ones will be saved for GT6.

Other than that, some of us seriously needs to chill on the whole "two" months thing. Unless it's like several months overdue, it's not too much of a concern. And really, if they did released one for March or whenever, it's not going to guarantee that it's going to be content that most of us will like anyway. Then it becomes an argument about their decisions, rather than breaking a so called promise on every "two months."

PD has it tough either way, so really the "break" you think we're giving them is reasonable. You're asking them to churn up DLCs, with them having to worry about GT6 at the same time, which is exactly what's going on now. What I can agree with you is that they're rather silent on their plans. This whole thing would all be better if we all have any sense on their direction.

Honestly, I think them focusing on GT6 soon would resolve all this, more than any DLC for GT5 ever could. DLC can only bring short, temporary happiness for most, which is why it's been made a big deal on the whole two months thing. After every two months, people will be begging for more DLCs, probably for reasons being that the DLCs are VERY selective. Unless they can give a DLC that can satisfy everyone for a long time (and you know that's nearly impossible), there will be no end to this. GT6 would at least settle things for at least a year or so.

Yes my article address such, and I took it into account as well.

Who says it'd become an argument? They never made promises as far as content goes to anyone. I've yet to see a KY tweet of that sort, for people to complain about content in DLC is a totally different thing than those who are upset about the two month promise. I only agree with them being upset because in today's modern world where people following these gaming groups with support and buying the DLC, they should come out and give more insight instead of leaving people in the dark. This is expected because people see how the fan base of their competition is treated in that realm, and given much more info. Also why should people calm down? T10 (example) promises a monthly release and has done so since FM3 as far as I can remember and they kept to it. CM releases video diaries to show and keep fans up to date with the F1 series.

Could you please explain the "has it tough", the explanation your giving is something that plenty of other developers go through. Thus when looking at it you make them look more incompitent rather than good and once again they come off as being stretched to thin but doing it to themselves. I'm asking them to do what they already told people they had the ability to do. Nothing more, nothing less than that. If you tell me you already have plenty of items to give out I'm gonna hold you to that because you said you did. Sorry I just believe in QC (quality control) and accountability.

The ending I agree with you upon. I don't really care if they release DLC and to be honest I'm only debating you guys because I can, but more so the philosophy of some fans seems warped to the point that as consumers we don't know what's going on and let them get away with it. People defend tooth and nail as if they work in PD.

Problem is the second half of last year, they were constantly updating the game, improving it, fixing errors, giving us new features we all cried for... Then to excite us even more the last months of 2011 we had the start of the DLC. And we could keep ourselves busy with cool seasonal events. This created high expectations that in the end we would end up with the masterwork GT5 was supposed to be when they released it.

2012 came; the seasonal events were ditched for the lame formula we have now (for me only the A spec events i keep racing, Time trial and drift i gold once for the dough, and B spec i don't even bother with). Like that only one new event thats useful (but lame), every 3 weeks...

Upon that the DLC and updates dried out all of a sudden. And whilst we have this silence from PD the last months, and no seasonals to look forward to neither anymore, we see T10 giving their fanbase dozens of new treats on a continuous basis.

Result= fustration. At least some transparency from PD (a status update or some news for example); would help a lot. But there's only this silence, who knows maybe they have given up on GT5 alltogether...

Bravo to this, good post 👍

I don't care about when the DLC is released, chances are If it's like the last few I won't buy it and it won't bring me back to this game. All I want is PD to TALK to us, in any way. I don't expect daily updates from Kaz himself but I don't think a weekly or even fortnightly update from someone at the team is too much to ask.

As it is we get nothing. We only find out when the DLC is out through press releases and maybe a rough tweet from Kaz. It's 2012, as I said earlier someone needs to tell PD what a blog is and how to utilise it.

Ummm... I know this isn't really related to the topic but... Is this thread no longer stickied? I'm not complaining, seeing how it hasn't really needed to be stickied since release... I'm just putting it out there 👍

EDIT: Thanks, Simon. Must have skipped over that without noticing it. Not sure how, seeing as it is typed in bold purple ;)

EDIT #2

But we'll keep on playing.
I see what you did there!

Another well-known story is that of the ship's band, led by Wallace Hartley, who heroically played on while the great steamer was sinking. This seems to be true but there has been conflicting information about which song was the last to be heard.
