Are any news out their beside the 4k discussion?
What.
Are any news out their beside the 4k discussion?
BWXWhat.
Will not happen.
BWXWhat ''will not happen''?
BWXI think it's fairly obvious how powerful the PS4 will be if it come out sometime in the next 12 to 24 months. Look at the biggest, baddest, fastest GFX cards you can find on nVidia's or ATi's (AMD now) websites.
It'll have at least that kind of power, but will need a little bit more, by maybe 10 to 20%, so people will feel justified buying it for $1000, instead of the latest GFX card for their PC. Obviously made up $$ numbers.. just a guess. But anyway.. history predicts the future.
BWXI always thought that when the new Play Station comes out, it is usually equal to or a little better than the current highest-end PC, at least in terms of GFX capabilities such as fill-rate, memory bandwidth, antialiasing and anisotropic filtering capabilities, etc.
Just go back and look at the PS2 and the latest GFX cards the year that came out, same for PS1, and X-Box/ 360.

Ah. A PS4 with the latest GPU and a 1000$ price.
You said:
Well that would suck. The Nintendo Wii was a game changer. It's low price really hurt the more powerful but more expensive Playstation and Xbox. Because the economy is not doing well its rumored that Sony and Microsoft will not introduce systems with a graphical leap as impressive as previous generations to save money and increase sells.
...............
...........
BWXYeah I said ''Obviously made up $$ numbers.. just a guess. But anyway.. history predicts the future.''
-- Meaning price, who knows? But performance? Again.. I gotta look to past to predict future, that's all I'm saying.
The past predict not everything. For example:
PS2: Worst hardware compared to GC and Xbox
PS3: Best Hardware conpared to the competition.
I guess the price will be 400-550$. Sony has financial problems and they'll not make a 700-1000 $ console with the latest GPU.
BWXUm, I'm talking about Playstation compared to PC GFX cards of the year it came out, not PS compared to X-Box/ GQ/ other.
I just remember when I'd build a PC around the time the PS came out in the past, I noticed a pattern.
I know. But i gave you an argument that you can't rely on the past, because it can't predict anything.
Only a few things, but they can still change.
You would buy a 700-1000$ console? Ok that's fine you can buy what you want, but a console like this wouldn't sell well and the Publisher wouldn't support it. They want a plattform which sells well.
BWXAs I recall Sony took a loss on every PS3 sold for quite a while, so maybe $1000 was what I said.. a made up number. I said I'm not trying to predict price. What I'm talking about is GPU performance.
Yes of course. But the PS3 didn't had the latest GPU Generation and the PS1 and 2 did get a Slim model. PS1 was called PSone i think.
After the Slim model the Next Gen arrived 0-1,5 year later.
But not with the PS3 Slim. We still wait. That destroy's your "past predict" - argument. And it is only one example that can destroy it.
BWXYou destroy nothing. You harsh my mellow. Me destroy your destroy.
Seriously though, PS slim has nothing AT ALL to do with it.
You can rage all you want about destroying arguments. You just make me laugh now, I'm not saying I'm god and am omnipotent like you are.
BlisteredHandThey want a platform that sells well over 10 years, not one that sells well in the first few months due to it's low price and then fails due to not being powerful enough to play decent games in 5 years time.
BlisteredHandI can see Sony being comfortable with low sales for the first year or so, it will build in the long term. If they don't wish to invest as much money or are unable to then they will not subsidise it as much as the PS3 was, meaning relatively it may be more expensive at launch than the PS3 was.
BWXThe only thing I really wished they would do is make it possible to upgrade RAM in the future. It's so cheap, but look at the smoke and jagged shadows we're stuck with. If we could only double the RAM like in a PC, or even laptops.
Well. I do not rage and i know that "destroy" was the wrong eord, but i couldn't find another one. My english writing is not good.
Seriosly though i confirmed teice that your "future predicts" arguement is false.
If you look in the past additionel hardware never sell well.
I have an idea. Why not wish that they make 4-8gb RAM in the PS4 at launch?
I said latest GPU? No, I said RAM.Most of the customer would get angry and the developer too. There is a reason why people buy a console instead of a computer. If you want the latest GPU and upgradeable RAM buy a PC.
In my opinion a computer is better for yo
BWXBecause in that regard Sony has always been a cheapskate! But their GPU's kick booty.
I know. But they should turn their brains on and integrate more RAM at launch.
I mean why do some people want to pay for a problem which the company made? I just don't understand this.
Maybe Sony should make a PS4 with CD drive, memory card, 512mb Ram and sell additionel hardware.
I have nothing against you.
Yeah, now you're just trolling.
You're troll rant about CD drives, 512mb RAM, and memory cards just proves to me you're a troll, so welcome to my ''ignore'' list. 👎

I'm not a troll. I just don't want upgradeable hardware. And the past show that additional hardware don't sell well.
I think a company should learn from their mistakes and DON'T earn money with it.
If additional hardware would sell well we would get a bad hardware at launch. They wouldn't sell the console with loses anymore because customer would be stupid enough to buy additional hardware.
gamerdog6482There are a LOT of people out there who get there entire PS3 experiance from aftermarket stuff, so saying that upgradeable hardware is wrong is wrong. And do you have any proof that upgradeable hardware in the PS4 would mean bad hardware at launch?
BWXThank God.. Some one else can deal with this weasly troll for a while! LOL. Good luck with that!
gamerdog6482No, they wouldn't. They would do exactly what they did last time. Develop and release what they think people will buy, and when they realize that isn't enough, make it smaller and the HDD bigger. It's what they did with the PS1, it's what they did with the PS2, it's what they did with the PS3, and it is certainly what they are going to do with the PS4, and PS5, and PS6, and whatever comes after that. That wan't change because Sony is still Sony, and the PlayStation is still the PlayStation.
I also don't understand how money could want a company, or why you say you have proof and then don't give any.
