Sadly, they are like this (being short) to allow anyone to simply pick-up and complete. It's easier on the "casual gamer." Good for those with that little bit of spare time in the day.
Especially with in race saves, whats really so wrong with events late in A-Spec mode lasting around a hour each? A 5 lap race is like eating a candybar. Sweet and fast but no lasting benefits. If you ate the candybar when really hungry you'd likely even get sick afterwards. A one hour race is like a full course meal in which after you've taken the time to enjoy it you feel much better for a longer time afterwards.
If PD was truly concerned about the casual gamer, why would they force so much grinding? How many times did I have to run the Indy 500 to level up again? And lets not get started with the 24 hour races that dont allow B-spec drivers to help
