Ah ok thanks! Did somebody asked him who he is? How he gets all the demos? Did he know more about GT5?![]()
What wouldn't make sense? Sony, deciding the release date? PD is playing the developer role here. They have more leniency than other devs, since they are in house, but it's still sony marketing deciding when the the game gets released.
Seeing this new vid made me think:
Engine sound is like prologue.
Tyre sound is like TT.
Driving physics are likeTT.
While I agree with you that the sound sucks, your first question doesn't make sense.![]()
I won't say a whole lot as I don't want a bunch of rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth fanboys gunning for me, but, if this ends up being the final product - what the hell have they been doing all this time? Why, after five years and change does the engine audio still suck?
....And yes, I did say suck. Don't try and feed me that "But, it was recorded from a TV source that lacks definite bass...." I'm not buying that. Yes, a surround sound system will add depth, bass, tone, etc....but it won't change the samples themselves. 'Nuff said.
That's been my biggest gripe with every GT game and will continue to be my biggest gripe until they get it right.
Pretty much everything but sound (which deserves more time, but hey, everything else looks amazing)!
I believe you may have pointed out what Ace was referring to that didn't make sense. If that's so, then, the "what the hell have they been doing all this time?" was taken out of context (on my behalf) to apply to the lack of proper samples. I'm explicitly pleased with just about everything else.
Hey, you looked like one.I won't say a whole lot as I don't want a bunch of rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth fanboys gunning for me, but, if this ends up being the final product - what the hell have they been doing all this time? Why, after five years and change does the engine audio still suck?
Yes. The way you typed it made it appear that sound is everything and that PD hasn't done a single thing correct. Which would be silly (though I know it wasn't your intention).
But yes, everything really does seem great. I'm glad you and most others see that. It is far too easy to spot what you don't like. Makes you forget why you've loved the series for so long
You've got a different font for every post you make thing going on, don't you?![]()
Call me stupid but I will take physics and gameplay over "OMG IT HAS TO SOUND LIKE SHIFT!" any day of the week. This "game" is more than a game to me, it's a way for me to practice my driving skills so that I can hit my local track days every month and try to utilize what I learned. Seems to help, and sounds have nothing to do with it. So the Enzo doesn't sound like an Enzo. Whooptie-do!
Edit: and the hand animations don't mean much to me either, since I don't use cock-pit view.
Hey, you looked like one.
A bit of common sense... no final game, a very bad balanced vid, exists vids and demos that prove a sound upgrade since the Prologue, etc...
And you can say that this is the same, but not to my ears:
The Enzo isn't in Shift,
and who mentioned anything about NFS Shift anyway?
So the Enzo doesn't sound like an Enzo. Whooptie-do!
If it can LOOK the part, FEEL the part why can't it SOUND the part?
He meant that Sony delaying the game to go up against Halo wouldn't make any sense, and he is right, two completely different genres on different systems.
Bad car sounds take away from gameplay immensly. If the car you're driving can't please the visual and auditory senses then he game won't be immersive. I'd gladly trade graphics for authentic or even close to realistic engine notes.Call me stupid but I will take physics and gameplay over "OMG IT HAS TO SOUND LIKE SHIFT!" any day of the week.
If it can LOOK the part, FEEL the part why can't it SOUND the part?
IT seems that would be the easiest one of those to implement, i mean to make a modeled car sound real would logistically be an easier task than reproducing most of its physical characteristics.
I freaking heart GT like, in a semi-obsessive way,but i don't want to spend the next 3~ years watching videos on youtube to find out what these dream machines REALLY sound like. Sorry.
