nice optimism, speedfreak69! :)

Ah ok thanks! Did somebody asked him who he is? How he gets all the demos? Did he know more about GT5? :)

GTRP-Member "GrüneHölle" met him. He only said that Mimaximax is french. For more you have to ask him ;)

What wouldn't make sense? Sony, deciding the release date? PD is playing the developer role here. They have more leniency than other devs, since they are in house, but it's still sony marketing deciding when the the game gets released.

He meant that Sony delaying the game to go up against Halo wouldn't make any sense, and he is right, two completely different genres on different systems.

Ya, sound still "synthetic", not realistic or enveloping. Too bad.

Seeing this new vid made me think:

Engine sound is like prologue.
Tyre sound is like TT.
Driving physics are likeTT.

And? :dunce:

I think we're at the point now people that complaining won't do any good since the game will be out soon. Unless you really want the game to come out in two more years, let's all just sit back and enjoy what we're getting ok?

I won't say a whole lot as I don't want a bunch of rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth fanboys gunning for me, but, if this ends up being the final product - what the hell have they been doing all this time? Why, after five years and change does the engine audio still suck?

....And yes, I did say suck. Don't try and feed me that "But, it was recorded from a TV source that lacks definite bass...." I'm not buying that. Yes, a surround sound system will add depth, bass, tone, etc....but it won't change the samples themselves. 'Nuff said.

That's been my biggest gripe with every GT game and will continue to be my biggest gripe until they get it right.

While I agree with you that the sound sucks, your first question doesn't make sense. ;)

What doesn't make sense? If I'm missing something, please, point it out because I don't see it.

Pretty much everything but sound (which deserves more time, but hey, everything else looks amazing)!

Agreed here. Bad sound is bad sound. The Enzo doesn't sound good. Nope.

In time sound will make a comeback. Maybe. It's a great way to immerse a player into a game. That's for sure.

I believe you may have pointed out what Ace was referring to that didn't make sense. If that's so, then, the "what the hell have they been doing all this time?" was taken out of context (on my behalf) to apply to the lack of proper samples. I'm explicitly pleased with just about everything else.

Yeah that's what I meant, but note the ";)", I know where you're coming from.

Yes. The way you typed it made it appear that sound is everything and that PD hasn't done a single thing correct. Which would be silly (though I know it wasn't your intention).

But yes, everything really does seem great. I'm glad you and most others see that. It is far too easy to spot what you don't like. Makes you forget why you've loved the series for so long :)

Hey, you looked like one.

A bit of common sense... no final game, a very bad balanced vid, exists vids and demos that prove a sound upgrade since the Prologue, etc...

And you can say that this is the same, but not to my ears:

You've got a different font for every post you make thing going on, don't you? :p

Haven't seen so many locked threads on the 1st page of the GT5 section in a while.

Well I'm jumping in this too.

Yeah.........the sound........and the shift animations.........they suck. Yep.👎

Call me stupid but I will take physics and gameplay over "OMG IT HAS TO SOUND LIKE SHIFT!" any day of the week. This "game" is more than a game to me, it's a way for me to practice my driving skills so that I can hit my local track days every month and try to utilize what I learned. Seems to help, and sounds have nothing to do with it. So the Enzo doesn't sound like an Enzo. Whooptie-do!

Edit: and the hand animations don't mean much to me either, since I don't use cock-pit view.

The Enzo isn't in Shift, and who mentioned anything about NFS Shift anyway?

Damn Zero thats good. I have a 5.1 surround Pioneer and with out that sub man it sounds like that 1st video on the left with the sub though it sounds like the one on the right it brings out that deepness I was trying to do a comparison video but i suck at things like that

The video on the right sounds awesome.

Funny enough, even my videos which "fixed" the sounds in the CES demo got complaints about how it does not "sound real" so I get the impression that even if they actually sounded better, people still would complain. I'm kinda now abit not worried about sounds anymore because really no game to me has gotten the sounds right, period. Either they're barely realistic sounding or its overdone, mostly with an unreal gear whine. So I'm really not concerned anymore since chances are I won't actually be able to sit in any of these car and actually listen to the real thing and to the fact that in reality, no game developers will apparently get it right no matter many complaints are thrown at them.

If it can LOOK the part, FEEL the part why can't it SOUND the part?

IT seems that would be the easiest one of those to implement, i mean to make a modeled car sound real would logistically be an easier task than reproducing most of its physical characteristics.

I freaking heart GT like, in a semi-obsessive way,but i don't want to spend the next 3~ years watching videos on youtube to find out what these dream machines REALLY sound like. Sorry.

From 2:30, slightly better in-car quality than a few posts up.

I hope GT5 and NUR-RING will have 16 cars not just 8! doing Le Mans and only 8 cars will be boring

Who knows, I'm not a sound engineer. I just know that driving the cars is more fun for me than nitpicking about the sounds.

gotcha , thanks

Bad car sounds take away from gameplay immensly. If the car you're driving can't please the visual and auditory senses then he game won't be immersive. I'd gladly trade graphics for authentic or even close to realistic engine notes.

+1!! I do hope that the sound (and shift animations) in this demo is just that.....a DEMO...and like we've seen evidence from each demo to the next, it gets better. The TT had good sounds, and that is what is keeping my hope alive. PD may not get it exact, because it is impossible, since NO ONE evidently can. But I expect them to be closer to class.

(and no I am not a sound engineer and I didn't sleep at a holiday inn, but every piece of info we've got has gotten better each time. Why wouldn't the sound improve as well. It has only been the single biggest gripe for fans. I'll live with the shift animations, since I don't use that use view, but this demo is strange looking)
