If it can LOOK the part, FEEL the part why can't it SOUND the part?

True. Perhaps GT6? Nah.

I wouldn't count on it. I think it's just PD's style, or maybe KY's. Nah, it's likely both; It's about the overall presentation.

But I still agree with you. However, it would never stop me from enjoying the game. When there is room for improvement, there is room to grow. And this series has been growing fairly consistency.

Ahaha, dont get me wrong i will play the feces out of it, no doubt, but i will be left wanting is all im saying.

The sound of the Enzo is EXTREMELY close, really theres only the "life" of the car thats misssing, like saying, a mannequin can have the exact proportions of a human it's size, but it does not have the life force to make you know its animate and recognize it as a life form despite its appearance.

It can pass in the shadows but not under the bright light scrutiny of GT Sim Racing fans.

But i will play the s--- out of it. Regardless.

Hopefully my sub can bring that life out of GT!! 👍

Which part exactly? If someone blindfolded me, turned that video on during cockpit part, I wouldn't know that it was a car, let alone an enzo.

Riiiight.

It's a combustion engine, but in the video(bad quality+no sub\hdmi quality given) i only hear engine, to put it simply, there's no fire, breaths with no pulse.

Hmm I actually found the Forza 3 Enzo and the Nurb demo Enzo quite similar in character, except, the GT version has that synthetic upper end zing from Prologue. Which the Time Trial did not have, so again old engine and build

Thats the the problem right there because of those reasons it is really hard to judge the game sound. I have GT5P Forza3 And Shift(ps3). Call me a fan boy or what ever you want but overall GT5P sounds better. Now the other game do sound better in some areas but overall GT5P gets it for me. All are played on a 5.1 and optical connection. 👍

Whoa, what? GT5 Prologue sounds better then Forza 3?

I'm not insulting your opinion or anything (why would I?) I've just....never heard that before. S'kind of shocking.

Like i said its extremely close, maybe it's the console that can not process the sample rate required to hear all the subtleties . It it still kilometers :sly: ahead from anything non-moddable.

Hahaha. In my post i said the other games do sound better in some areas however because of GT5P incompleteness I cant judge the games 100% I do have Forza and i do love the sounds bro dont get me wrong the V8 and V10 sound great the turbos sound sweet waste gate etc. Then you watch a replay full of 8 cars and it sound like a bunch of noise  all the games have their goods and bad points, but overall GT5P wins for me. Just my opinion though :sly:

Ok, so the sounds are not right, the 2D trees are only 3D if I buy a new super expensive TV and cars never leave skidmarks and don't have reverse lights, of course.
I can live with that, but driver names??! Please PD if you read this make sure everything displayed on screen can be turned off, it's just distracting (and ugly), I don't want to be reminded all the time that I'm playing a video game, I'm not going to tape my TV again (like I had to because of the HUD gltich in GT4)!

What? :boggled: If you ask me, complaining about the AI opponents having names is even more pointless than complaining about the trees.

Nah. I disagree. The trees are fine, the names are annoying.

Yes, that would be a very good option. Otherwise, I'm happy about what I 've seen (and even heard) in the recent videos.

I know it's old,but the sound in this Toyota trailer looks better!!

I agree. Just listen to that tire and engine sound coming from that Toyota! :D
I transfered the video to my MP4,and its the only GT5 video in my MP4!!

I feel sorry for mimaximax because..

I just checked the description in mimaximax's latest video in youtube..He said that the steering and the gear shifters were bad,and he 'direct capture' (I don't know what it means) the sounds in the demo...

He could have done better recording the sounds, but he said there were just too many people waiting to play the demo..:indiff:

Oh well, lets just hope that PD improve the sounds before TGS '10!! :D

Sony puts GT5 3D on display later this week at Sony's Dot Park event in Tokyo (from Neogaf). Click

Gran Turismo 5 is going on public display later this week at Sony's Dot Park event. There's going to be something slightly different from the past Tokyo Game Show showings and demos, though. This time, players will be able to sample the upcoming racer in full 3D!

Dot Park will be held from May 21 through May 25 at Roppongi Hills in central Tokyo. The event will highlight Sony's various music, movie and game contents and artists through talk and demo sessions.

he actually says that the shifters were "broken," so dont worry about them needing to be fixed. 👍

I guess maximax was using G27 because G27 can't use shifters:) He seems to have his own demo. The video was recorded in different location from Germany 24h as there was no background noise (He said he recorded its sound directly from the TV. How could he do that? Is there anyone who can explain?). I guess he is one of the members of the development team. Of course, I may be mistaken.

The G27 can use shifters. At least, it could in the Time Trial demo.

You're thinking of Prologue (Which was released quite a bit before the G27).

I htink the demos all use the DFGT anyway.

Some friends of mine are dragster enthusiasts and run a street legal Pro ET car (amongst their several cars). They spend a lot of time around really quite heavily tuned and modified American muscle - their own car, for instance, is a 9.2 litre Mopar V8 running the best part of 850hp on a mix of 95RON (91 octane) pump gas and AvGas. They spend a little less time playing Gran Turismo and wouldn't know what the car list of GT5 Prologue is (though both are actually members here and have been to our LANs).

A few months back they were over here and I got one of them playing GT5P on my driving rig and I put the speakers just slightly above their usual "on" (they're a little... loud for a house when gaming on one's own). For a laugh I ventured downstairs and asked if the other could identify the car being driven from sound alone.

Now, this person who doesn't play GT, doesn't know what the car list is and IS A WOMAN could identify the engine - particularly the American ones - from sound. I'd struggle to tell a Ford and Chevy V8 apart in reality from sound alone, but she could do it in a game, without seeing it, without any prior knowledge of the cars and through the ceiling.

I'd agree that the sounds are not necessarily as representative of reality as the images are. I'd agree that there is more significant scope for improvement in the sounds than in many other areas of GT. However, the intrinsic quality is there - it's enough that someone who really knows cars can distinguish two engine notes that most of us couldn't in person if played through a well-balanced sound system (rather than the loudest 5.1 system you can get your hands on or TV speakers). It's not quite as bad as people would make out.

I fully agree with this.

About this Dot Park event, is anyone attending? If I was in Japan, I'd certainly go there.

Hey, you looked like one.

A bit of common sense... no final game, a very bad balanced vid, exists vids and demos that prove a sound upgrade since the Prologue, etc...

And you can say that this is the same, but not to my ears:

Holy hell! That second vid sounds fantastic! Why does my version of prologue and the 599 sound like the first one? HALP!! I need that sound in my life 👍

Nope - he said in the video description that it was recorded at the 24 hour Nurburgring, now this one was done on a mobile truck display thing I think. He used a DFGT - he said it has broken shifters. And he isn't used to plastic pedals. Maybe he uses a G25 normally
The audio from the TV was fed directly into his recording unit, so he was driving without sound feedback

There was a whole bunch of GT5 cockpits and standing units in a building as well, at 24 hour maybe? Some of the videos on youtube come from this 2nd place.
I downloaded the rapidshare version of the video here - and it shows the complex, the demo units were in at the end of it. there looked to be a good 12-20 demo units
