2 replays on gametrailers...Zonda R is made from carbon fiber, why the sparks? doh

Maybe the Zonda R is made out of Carbon Titanium composite like the Zonda Cinque. :p

I'm not all that into drag racing, but I wouldn't be against it being in a GT game.

I agree. Drag racing in Forza 3 was trash. No RPM control before hand. No warm tires from burning out before hand. 4WD bias? Lol.. it's broken. Hopefully GT5 will add this simple feature in.

Also, I think the cars are too stable while nudging each other at great speeds...maybe it's standard physics in this vid...

Yes, some behaviour of car made of concrete instead of sheet metal is still present in the physics. Even american cops know that light knock on the side of rear fender sends the car out of control.

Carbon is flammable, at much lower temperatures than most metals - similar to wood! And that car has wheels (typically made from some alloy of metals), last time I checked :p

Also, it's hard to judge the stability of the cars without playing it - we don't know what steering input the player was giving. Also, the AI has an uncanny ability to pull out of these situations (unlike the average player, when they get a love tap - at least from the footage we've seen.)

Then again, that Elise at 47 seconds didn't really stand a chance!

Carbotanium FTW!:D

Yep.:sly:

:drool::drool:

To me that looks ugly.

We should be able to do that with the online leaderboard.
As long as it was done online we can download the top 10 times and use them as ghosts.

The GPS, ...........?

Or do you mean setting the record in actual life?

I meant real life drivers setting laptimes recorded using GPS... then use that data put into the game so we can race against them

PAX... Penny Arcade Expo..

I thought that you wouldn't see sparks flying from carbon at all, but as the sparks are very toned down in general in the Gamescom demo (which is a good thing) I guess I can live with that easily.

I bumped into a Corvette with an SLS at about 120 km/h, and they really didn't take that much notice. That was on standard physics and easy AI.

On the other end, when the same happened to me, I wasn't sent off to the gravel trap right away but the slide was good to catch.

I guess that is still subject to balancing and I could understand if they toned it down a bit especially for the demo shown.

Let's be honest, the majority of players and some F1 drivers are only to happy to force an opponent off the track, but if the AI or a former team mate dares to do the same, they cry out "cheating son of bachelors!".

Fine tuning - I'm sure.

It also depends on point of impact, how much grip you had, what angle your car was at, what speed they where travelling at etc. Although it is toned down in the demo. There are still many factors to evaluate when that happens.

Agree as that picture ofcourse doesn't depict the original SLS ( which does look beautiful to my eyes at least ) but one of those horrible "tuning" jobs.

Yes, true, but wouldn't it be best to leave that to the point we have the finished product in hand?

If by watching the footage one is saying "I'd expected more reaction from the car hit" I say: yes, so did I, when I hit a car playing the Gamescom demo..

If someone is trying to thoroughly judge the physics engine just by that or at all from any footage, then he has a very vivid imagination.

True true, from what I've seen from the videos and read by various people the physics seem a step above most out there. But we won't know what the final build is going to be like yet...

Turn10 wants to crash gran turismo 5?! with an over one year old game :D :D
so lets take a look what will be new in Forza 3 Ultimate Collection... hmm..the only new in Forza 3 will be the name "ultimate collection" lol

What will be new in Gran Turismo 5... hm.... i wont write it.. its too much :D

"Forza Motorsport Ultimate Collection wants to Crash Gran Turismo 5 party?" That's a good one. Gran Turismo 4 achieved higher sales than those of all three Forza Motorsport games put together, and I don't assume many people are particularly willing to relive the nightmare of playing Forza Motorsport 3 again, do you?

Jeez, is it really that bad? I was thinking about getting it.

Back to the dragsters for a second. It would be cool, to have the NHRA licence for Top Fuel dragsters, funny cars, pro stock & modified road cars.

S&S.

It depends. If you're simply in need of a fun driving game to pass the time with, it isn't half bad, but if you're serious about your game as an epic simulation racing experience, then from where I stand, the physics, graphics and career mode will come as a hefty disappointment.

I really don't see how much it would affect buyers of GT5

All this would probably do is piss of those that bought every DLC for Forza 3, nothing more. Whats gonna be it's selling points, livery editor?:dunce:

Won't you get a drag strip on the top gear track.
Seems an ideal place to put one.

That would be awesome as! I hope those HKS Nissan drag cars from GT2 are in it. The 180SX and the R33 GT-R.

I remember doing laps of Test Course in that thing

For added realism? lol

Won't be much of a challenge. Even the GT players who are average at best, like myself, would most likely beat those real life lap times.

I'll be getting the ultimate collection. I don't have XBL so getting all the DLC car will be a plus.

Although I've never actually played FM3 (or any FM game for that matter) I think I can still say just by looking at videos of FM3 on YouTube GT5 already looks over 1,000 times better.

GT5 will make FM3 look like Mario Karts on the Super Nintendo.

Yeah I also got it and the first 1-2 weeks was "oh yeah nice game" and then it starts to get extremely boring... And you see more and more the ugly sites of the game...

+ (already sayed 100 times) no logitech wheel support from MS :scared:
