Got my G27 today. Works great and all but how can I use the paddles behind the wheel to shift?

Also me!I got it yesterday and wowwwww....G27 is way better than G25,the FB is so real!about shifting with the pedals behind the wheel you can't do it because they don't work with GT5p!!we have to wait GT5!:nervous:

Does anybody else hate the 3,2,1, start countdown sound in GT games. It has been like that since GT1 i think. I find the sound really annoying.

Yeah sounds a little cheesy. But most of all is the hud. I hope we can turn it off.

Wow that looks gorgeous and strange, in a good way, at the same time ( talking about the car ofcourse ).
Does anyone know this means it will eventually appear in a GT-game like the Miura ( and also hearing rumours about the TZ2 )?
Or is this totally unrelated, if not it could also mean Abarth is included as a seperate brand this time.

I have a feeling if we don't get it in game "from launch".. It will be either DLC or saved for GT6...

EDIT... Could mean Abarth will make a showing at some point.

It would not be gran turismo without this sound. I hope they will keep it, as long as the series exist.
In fact, the version of the song "Cold Rock the Mic" in Gran Turismo 2, and included on the soundtrack, uses this sound, along with an in-game engine revving and tires squealing, at the start of the song.

It is such a part of Gran Turismo that it has made it into songs remixed for the game.

2010 shopped? She looks .... smoother :scared:
It isn't the same person.

and tell me how the professional HUD that used in all-mighty Nissan GTR looks and feels like arcade? Is "g-meter" in all arcade games?or separate throttle AND engine response gauges?

The GTR has a heads up display?

It isn't the same person.

That was rather obvious to me as well, I fear some people may think too much in car terms in assuming it must be a facelifted smoother looking 2010 model.....

Porsche, Coughs, Trademark....
Trademarks and licenses aren't that tight. If they were you would owe Porsche money for that post.

I've never played Forza 3, but how do their physics compare with GT5P?

Quite simply, they don't. Even Turn 10 themselves realise that their game cannot be classed as a driving simulation such as Gran Turismo or iRacing.

Forza is for Everyone

It's easy to go for a spin: "Forza Motorsport 3" redefines the racing genre by blurring the definition of simulation and arcade. Simulation games can be too hard for some players. "Forza Motorsport 3" rises above the distinction between simulation and arcade games by using a myriad of cutting-edge driving and gameplay assists such as auto-braking, gameplay rewind and auto-tuning. "Forza Motorsport 3" delivers an experience where everyone can have fun behind the wheel, regardless of your skill and dexterity. Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned racing game pro, "Forza Motorsport 3" caters to how you drive and the game evolves with you over time as your skills develop.

This is reminding me of Trump trying to trademark "You're fired".

Seriously, are people still trying to find any shred of a chance that Porsche will be included? It won't.

Are there going to be gyroscope controls in the game? You know, like in motorstorm, where you can steer with joypad?

I know it's useless and stupid and whatnot but I'm just wondering.

I have a feeling we might be surprised at TGS or the release, remember the ‘Ring documentery thing, they said “Sabine Schmitz is racing in a Porsche” (PD needs a liscens to say that, don’t they????)

lol
No they certainly don't, why are people still thinking that Porsche makes it into the game?

Don't forget a certain Hotel heiress trying to trademark "That's hot" apparantly.....
About Porsche, if they include a livery-editor people could at least write the Porsche name on a Ruf  ( yes I know they're not the same ).

According to this post on RSC Porsche will not be in in GT5 for launch, but may be in the future. Whether that is DLC or GT6, or even likely to happen, is probably a matter for this thread (if it's opened again).

Notes from Gamescom press conference:

no Porsche because of tight agreement with EA; but there’s Ruf; and there might be a change later on

I'll tell you who i wouldn't mind jumping on the GT5 wagon & that's Brabus. They even made a v8 Vito van.Can anyone remember the Brabus SL, with a 7.3ltr 582 bhp v12 ?.They put that engine, into an ML & an E class too. This was around the time, when the E39 Alpina B10 came out.

S&S.

And according to Kaz there will be no porsche in GT5. Yes, we know EA and sony have been "closer" lately but it still means nothing.
Can someone explain why this porsche subject comes up so often?

No no no no no no. It would be a horribly inaccurate experience. A wheel is the best way to go.

zod
lol

I know the chances are almost impossible but, they pointed out Sabine's Porsche in such a way it got me wondering, but it's probably nothing...

Yes a wheel is the best way to go.

Wheels are so cheap these days, and dont take too much space, all you need is tiny table to clamp it on.

Everyone who plays GT5 should get a wheel and see that GT is 100% better with it.

Okay, send me the money ( which apparantly is small change to you ) and I'll try.....;)

Finally, i will admit it. Yes the wheel is really the best way to go.

I have had the wheel together with GT5-P as long as i have the PS3, close to two years now... but up until last night, i have always been reluctant toward the wheel. And looking down at my signature, you can tell that i prefer the joystick/pad over it. What is making my mind change today?!

Running for the WRS, i switched between the Wheel and the Controller in trying to make the best time... and right at this moment, i am just as fast on the Wheel as i am with the Controller... (i have always been slower with the wheel before) BUT it was not until last night that i realize what a big difference it makes driving with the wheel, how closer to reality you are, how much things are better, and how much less it hurts your hand.

I guess i now have gotten used to driving with the steering wheel.

Yes, It might be a bit strange, (strange that is could be strange), that driving with a wheel will need some getting used to at first, but once you have gotten to know the car, pushing it to the limit, pushing yourself to the limit, you will see that the wheel can do so much more, things that the controller have been limiting yourself to.

Yes, I will still play with the controller, most of the time and casually, BUT BUT if i want some serious satisfaction and put myself in the driver seat... The wheel is the way to go ;) From now on, i will use my cockpit much more often! I wont be lazy and play on/in the bed :sly:

I can't imagine using the pad anymore as I have been using my G25 for almost 2 years, and Playseat Evo for 1.5 years:)

Because they're currently the only major brand that isn't in GT.

For me, Porsche is one of the most overrated car manufactures ever. They pretty much sell the same old design over and over again. After all this years, it still looks like a squeezed VW Bug. I never really used the Ruf's in gran turismo either.

Maybe they think, EA can reproduce the Porsche experience much better than PD.

I don't like Porsche either. Re-selling the same old design isn't quite how i'd put it thought, more that they have refined and perfected their engineering principle of having the engine in the wrong place. They've made it work, and boy does it work!

Why does almost everyone insist that having a rear-engined layout is "wrong"?
That's precisely where I'd want my engine to be, for traction and interior packaging benefits. That said, I do love a driving challenge.

About Porsche, it should be in, but the EA license, once its down GT5 will be firs on a list. Anyone knows how long the License is with EA?

Well if you can afford GT5 60 USD, PS3 300 USD, a used DFP or DFGT wheel will be around 100 and below.. really dude, do your math, its not that expensive, its almost as special Edition GT5 game. Give me a list of all consoles and video games you have, and you tell me its expensive.

Oh my....yesterday it was Forza, now it's Porsche again ( to be clear it is probably the only large car manufacturer still not included and only therefore it should be welcomed like any new manufacturer should be welcomed whatever your opinion on their cars in real life ).
TGS or better, the month November, can't come soon enough.;)

I've only got one console ( PS3 ) and about 8 games until now and planning to get the standard GT5 copy and whether I can afford a wheel right now ( or consider it expensive or not ) cannot be judged by previous purchases alone.
Oh and besides the price isn't ( if it were ) the only obstacle.;)
