Bathurst 1000

Joking us Australians don't exist...

LMFAO . So far it's holding true though. 50 more premium cars to be unveiled, let's hope some are Australian (I'm guessing most standard cars are from GT4, and assuming there won't be too much new in them), and a fairly straight-forward denial of any Australian tracks.

I can't see a mode that encourages children to sit in front of there tv for 24 hours solid going down to well.

I'd imagine a save system.

Indeed a save option must then be included. I'd love to do these kind of races.

Do you mean in this very track layout?

The old one is a classic, but also the new one with racers such as the Pagani, FXX and other hyperracers would be very very good fun.

Anybody hear this? ''F1 2010 Graphics Surpasses Gran Turismo 5'' Read the rest of the article here.

Hahaha!I'm laughing loud! They just don't know what graphics is.Some newbies here! :) They saw some rain and that's all.Game is to blurry and unrealistic.
(at least F1 runs at 30fps, witch is unacceptable for racing game, especially that fast as F1)

The car's look good, but not a patch on the F2007 from Prologue.

The rain effects are very good (Though your vision is far too clear imo, where is the spray from the guys infront?). The backgrounds look excellent, and the colour palette used gives it a far more realistic look than some of the GT5 videos we have seen (Something which I think you can sort out by altering the contrast on your TV).

But if you look at a comparison with Monza in the dry, suddenly F1 2010 doesn't look so good. But that's comparing it to off-screen videos.

As Famine stated, we haven't seen the rain effects in GT5, and we haven't seen PD's rendition of Spa either (Providing they have created one - Which I think is quite likely).

In F1 2010, you have that nice F1 steering wheel infront of you. Can you adjust Brake Balance? Differential Torque? Front Wing adjustments? Can you activate the F-duct?

It's an arcade game, using an heavily improved Grid engine. It'll be a good game no doubt, but it doesn't surpass GT5. Not even for graphics.

But then it wouldn't be a 24 hour endurance race?

It would be an endurance race but it would make it more accessible for people like myself who don't have 24hours to sit in front of a PS3 all at once. I just feel it would be a feature that many people, students like myself; people in full time employment and family men and women could take advantage of because we all want to do the races but don't physically have that much time to commit to one race at a time in one sitting.
I believe that "Le Mans 24 Heures" on the PS2 had the feature didn't it?

C'mon guys! It's common "Forza hype" syndrome...First minutes game looks like good then after time you realize that it's not so good (graphics) as you think. That's really not in case with GT (even GT4).And again 30fps for racing?Haha...

Im not saying I believe them, but what I mean is if the game does have realistic physics I may purchase so time flies to November :D

It might surpass GT5 yet racegames are all about the car handeling, graphics are important yet only a byproduct.

The way i feel about the original Driver, on the first Playstation :).I wish they'd make a remake of Driver, that was the best of the series.I do like Driver 3.Or make a game about The Driver ( Ryan O' Neil ), Bullitt or Vanishing Point.

Oh man, if i was driving i would crash so many times with all those cameras on me

Ascari_Gruppe the Ferrari in that '66 Monza video sounds amazing.

The vid is actually from a movie called 'Grand Prix'. I highly recommend you buy a copy. It's an all time great 👍

"Racing fans also enjoy the real-life racing footage and the appearances by real drivers. These included walk-ons (some uncredited) of F1 World Champions Phil Hill, Graham Hill, Juan-Manuel Fangio, Jim Clark, Jochen Rindt and Jack Brabham. Other drivers who appeared in the film include Richie Ginther and Bruce McLaren."

Also, and it might be my imagination, the front wheels seem far too inboard - the inside edges are practically rubbing on the nose.

Not only Codemasters are doing it in my opinion as most more recent F1 games or open-wheel cars in general depicted in games ( but especially those by Codemasters ) seemed to me to model the front wheels too far inboard.
To the extend of looking comical almost.

There's nothing wrong with a racing game running at 30FPS. Most people, probably including yourself, will never notice the difference until they purposely start looking for the differences.

I don't know about you, but at least I can immediately notice the difference when switching from 30 to 60 fps - much smoother experience overall.

I disagree. There is a huge difference (in motion) between 60fps and 30fps. Play FM3 back to back with PGR4 or NFS shift. The difference is quite noticeable.

The sheer amount of cars ! , Leaves GT4 and 🤬 forza behind , Gran Turismo 5 is going to be the don ! ....... until GT6 is released on the PS4 👍

That video is ooooold, it's from mimaximax.
Some people on YouTube think it's a good idea to repost that stuff all the time.

Amen to that! I just wish 60fps was standard on all console games. IMO a 60fps game look more impressive then a 30fps game with more advanced graphic.

And while you're at it, buy "Le Mans" with Steve McQueen. Just watched it yesterday, those cars are

Sinc you mentioned him ;) He is in "On Any Sunday" also. It is the best movie of all time, whether you are a motorcycle fan or not.

Check youtube, search 'on any sunday', I think the whole movie is on there 👍
It is more of a documentary, Steve Mcqueen does not act in this movie, he simply rides.
