It's not uselles but with a wheel the game plays on another level
I've been playing GT5 with the Move controller for nearly a year now. For the most part, steering with it is definitely more responsive than using the wheel.

No poll? Amateurs! *speaking of the thread starter* lol

That's understandable, but I was looking for a simpler poll. An "I agree" and "I disagree" poll.
And to be clear, I didn't mean to convey any ill-feelings toward the thread starter.
Load of cobblers.SOMEWHAT useless. Think about it. The game GT5 is meant not to be a semi-simulation like its predecessors GT1, 2 or 3, but a full-on hardcore sim, which it kind of fails to do anyway. So, logically, what's the point of a supposedly hardcore driving simulator when it looks and sounds like the real thing but doesn't FEEL control-wise like the real thing without a steering wheel?. Also, supposedly, according to some, playing GT5 with a steering wheel is easier and more fun than a controller, realism aside, anyway.![]()
I mean "unless you have a wheel GT5 is not enjoyable" statement I disagree with. Some really do have fun without a wheel. I did too before i had a wheel. Would I ever go back to a controller? No just no. Specially won't even go back to a DFGT. Too many advantages/capabilities to the G27 (or wheels with clutch and H-Pattern shifters) that you cannot do with the controller/DFGT that going backwards would ruin the driving experience for me.
AH! So then, you and I are very alike. At least where this thread is concerned. Pretty sure I agree with most of the things you post in the GT sections as well. Just fyi.I really didn't mean to show any ill-will either, though I suppose it could be seen that way. Just having a bit of fun as I think I've been here for a little too long and seen a little too much a few too many times. It really doesn't seem like the sort of opening post that is looking for varying opinions though.
I may have been trying to avoid going to work for five more minutes too...
I disagree as I stated earlier, but I have no problem with anyone having their opinion.
👍I've been here for a little too long and seen a little too much a few too many times.
sparkytoothI feel that the wheels are more useless than the DS3 in this case.
Haters gonna Hate.
The DS3 is far more versatile than the Wheel.
I know all that.I accept that the useless part was a little extremeThe term useless is a little extreme I give you that. But for starters I am not hating on you or anyone with a DS3 for that matter. Just am going to provide some insight for you.
How do you say wheels are more useless? Fail to see the logic there.
==================
900 degree Wheels with clutch and H-Pattern capabilities.
1. Have actual feeling of the car
2. Cut the wheels all the way over whenever you want. Result is more steering through the corner than a DS3.
3. The ability to engine brake when you shift down (like a real life car).
4. Clutch being able to match RPMs while heal-toeing to make for better control of the car.
5. Not really the most important thing (but i love doing this). Being able to shut your car completely off and also having a Nuetral gear.
Just those things in my opinion is a logical and factual way of disproving your statement about which one is better and versatile than the other.
sparkytoothI know all that but still I don't want a make believe object cluttering up my easily accessible game experience.this is GT guys and I'm not hating on the wheel and I accept that the useless part was a little extreme
I'm not talking technical stuff,I'm talking about accessibility and general comfort.I don't care about engine starts and actual feeling,it's a game gentlemen. We don't need to make believe more than we already do.It's like making engine noises with your mouth as a 7 year old while riding shotgun in your dad's car,you feel like it's real but it isn't and will never be until you get behind the actual, real, legit wheel.
I understand that the wheel allows for a better driving experience but still the DS3 isn't useless as the OP refers to it.The whole point of this thread is that the OP thinks DS3 is useless for GT when we'd had it for 15 years and still use it.This thread to me is just another waste of my finger power.Sorry about my rants but I just lost my marbles back there.Yeah i agree with your part on the term "useless". But what you won't understand is how much they wheel gives you in the game comparison to real life unless you own one. And as far as it goes the closer to realize in the game is by playing on the wheel. Pretty much it is just like real life except the feeling of the G forces
Please, don't mind this USELESS thread. GT5 IS useful with a controller. This thread is useless. Ignore it. And if you're an administrator or moderator for GTPlanet, please lock this thread. Thank you.![]()
