Gran Turismo 7 Is Getting an Official MOZA Wheel with PlayStation Compatibility

Interesting stuff, I don’t think I’ve ever known a game, released some years ago where the updates keep impressing as this games do,

I do still intend to get a dd extreme at some point but I’ll see what comes here,

Keep it up PD, so much to look forward to with GT8 and beyond 👊
 
Super Pumped now my R16 CRP2 Pedals and maybe my GSV2P Wheel Upgrade will be officially PlayStation licensed Products. Especially considering I sold my Fanatec Wheel and put my PS5 in the Closet and Bought the Moza Wheel and a PC and even though I have missed GT7 I would do it again in a heart beat ... For me Personally the 200kg Load Cell Pedals and the R16 with the Wheel Upgrade blows Fanatec out of the water. Especially Considering for the Price I would have has to get a DD Pro with Boost Kit Basic Wheel and I could have maybe got the V3 Pedals but even if I could have that aren't as good as Moza's Pedals and the Wheel Base is about 8NM shy of what I got for the same price with Moza! This just made my Damn Day, Week, Month and Year I'm Pumped right now.... I even wore my girl up to tell her and it was at that moment I realized not everybody shares my same passion for Sim Racing.... 🤦‍♂️🙄🤣🤣🤣
 
Another day, another L from Fanatec. Anyone owning Fanatec gear lately, will not be surprised at all. They’re constantly and consistently below expectations.

Amazing news for everyone else however 👍

100%. If this doesn't wake Fanatec up they might be toast. I know I wouldn't own a Fanatec base if not for console compatibility.

I wanna see Simagic get in on the console side, personally. But Mbooster pedals on console? Might ditch Fanatec.

MOZA finally getting into the PlayStation space is a good sign for the whole market. The PS5 DD options have been pretty limited so far, mostly Fanatec and Logitech. Having another ecosystem in play should push pricing in the right direction. Be interesting to see what the PS compatibility premium ends up being.
 
I am for more affordable DD drives but in todays ecomony things get even harder :/

Good to see more wheel options made available for use with PlayStation. Competition is usually a good thing.
From a personal perspective, I don’t understand all the hate for Fanatec. My Clubsport DD+ setup has been pretty much flawless since I bought it 18 months ago, however, this is a sample size of one.
In terms of pricing, the Moza R16 wheelbase is £499, while the equivalent Fanatec clubsport DD wheelbase (also without PlayStation support) is £514, at the current exchange rate, so there’s not much difference between the two, here in the UK. The key question is how much price uplift there will be in making the R16 PlayStation compatible…

This is probably even better news for those in smaller, more distant markets with weird taxing systems. Here in Brazil a Fanatec DD Pro 5Nm costs almost twice(!) as much as a Moza R5 set, so... yeah, I'll definitely wait to see what Moza comes up with before buying a wheel.

Shii.. I waited a long time to get PS compatible Moza base but just this spring sold all Moza gear and got the DD pro instead. I hope this doesnt wash away the dd pro fullforce update..🙄

Can someone confirm Fanatec is out from official GT marketing channels? As Moza has been advertised as "another partner" not "the partner".
 
Good thing I didn't pull the trigger on upgrading from the CSL Elite a few months back.
 
Fanatec firmware and software is broken buggy garbage lately and I'm not sure they're willing or even able to fix it. Maybe this will light a fire under Fanatec to do better but I doubt it. I wonder if Fanatec will even exist in 5 years.

On Moza's website they have the R5 unit ( 5.5 Nm ) complete with Hall sensor pedals for only $379 USD, and an R9 unit ( 9 Nm ) with load cell pedals for only $559 USD.

I know they're not going to be available tomorrow but I'm kinda giddy just thinking about it
 
Hey guys, really excited about the Moza announcement. Funny enough, I was just discussing this exact thing with someone a few weeks ago — how much I’d love to see Moza or Simucube on consoles. Fanatec is dominant, but let’s be honest:
  • Great when it works, but QC is inconsistent
  • Marketing and communication have been rough
  • Customer service is hit or miss
  • Even their flagship gear doesn’t guarantee years of reliable use
  • Software/firmware has been a mess
So a real competitor at the sharp end is very welcome.

That said, Moza is still a young, aggressively-growing company. No one really knows yet if they’ll mature into “another Fanatec” — strong, reliable, competitively priced, with solid software/FW/UI — or if that’s still a few years out.

Some things I’m curious about:
  • I run a DD+ (18Nm) — what would Moza’s equivalent tier be?
  • I’ve also got Podium Endurance, Formula V2.5, and Formula V3 wheels — what’s Moza’s wheel lineup look like for GT?
  • Will all their wheels work instantly once you own a compatible base, like the Fanatec ecosystem?
  • Will they go top-to-bottom on tiers, or focus on specific segments?
  • Any PS-licensed base at multiple price points, or just one/two with the PS chip?
  • Any chance of an active pedal for GT? Curious how that’d play with GT7’s braking model, which is very much 100-to-50 rather than trail-braking finesse like other sims.
Early days, no actual product yet, but the prospect is exciting. Curious what others think Moza will bring.

According to the Moza website - the top of the line Moza R12 V2 has only 12 Nm, so if youre used to running 18, then that would probably be a step down for you.
 
One thing that bothers me a little bit is that moza had to do multiple hardware revisions for their wheelbases. When fanatec released the dd1/2 they also had problems but these were fixed with software & firmware updates...

That’s unfortunately been an issue for many sim racing hardware manufacturers in recent years. Simagic with their Evo bases last year and Simucube with the new Simucube 3 earlier this year, for example.
 
I might be wrong (lack of personal experience with Moza), but it is genuinely hard for me to imagine it can be as bad as Fanatec when it comes to quality control, communication, software/firmware issues. Have not had such a poor product quality before in my life.
 
I have a limited budget and run a G29 on Playstation, so I'd consider the Moza R3 bundle if they released a PS-compatible version. For direct drive it looks like a really good buy
 
I'd love it if they could deliver a smaller and a beefier Wheelbase with PC/PS5 Support. This winter a R3/R5 with PS5 Support and a table clamp would be perfect for me.

Definately. If they have a nice R9 bundle available by the holidays, Im gonna jump all over that.

Moza has a 26Nm DD wheel, too. It cost around $900 USD, while the nice peddle and break will run another 300, clutch (H block), handbrake will run around 2k in total.

MOZA Racing’s first PlayStation-compatible wheel finally has a reveal date. The company confirmed on social media today that the new hardware will be unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.
