Good Morning Players! :)

3:00 AM on a mild Easter morning over here in Ontario - so a Happy Easter to all you folk that would be partaking in all the various rituals today that add peace and joy to your lives. 👍

OP was updated with all new times; action slowly picking up as we head into the final weeks.

Some comments, and a few videos for your enjoyment for when you are taking breaks from the console:

Very exciting buildup to the Papp event as the first entries trickle in - just ten seconds actually between first and fifth place - so some tussling for sure when we get to the final stages and the Marcos starts running better for all of us. tricky challenge because not only is getting Papp in the field important, but his position on the starting grid also factors into getting a win, if not the fastest time.

Another event that was immediately popular - and who could resist Bathurst - iconic, unique, almost a whimsical racing dream, campsites and all. Add to it that we are driving the Alfa 155 and doing so in a game where we can afford to take the liberties we wouldn't risk killing ourselves in real life for and competing point-to-point with everything it takes to achieve the fastest possible gaming time against fellow players also pulling out all the stops, makes for an interesting challenge. while I see over a minute was chopped off the original Challenge time i won't be surprised to see seconds being fought over for the top times as we go into the final runs - I guess once again proving that the 155 is a not a car to be trifled with - a stunning machine and as iconic as Bathurst itself.

For your enjoyment - and to pay homage to one of our fallen heroes:

And further - if you'd like to get onboard screaming with Jenson Button:

"It's a geological oddity! I lost my lunch - and I didn't even have any!
OMG! It's the Dipper! I'm going to die. It's the corkscrew! Nooooo!" :

Don't take him seriously - he's also a comedian apart from being a three-time NASCAR Champ.

That takes me to the seemingly strange NASCAR Events we have running - all of them with some sort of twist - but only easier said than done.
To get your motors running take a look at this year's Daytona finish - truth is stranger than fiction - but that's NASCAR - it ain't over till it's over :

I was just going to have a quick go at this as a bit of light entertainment but boy is it addictive. Spent a long time with team Jeff Gordon with no luck. Dijkstra is ok but Lawson (a Canadian, would you believe?) is utterly useless. Just once, when Lawson was on pole, I managed to get them to P1 and P2 but got wiped out twice myself in the process and finished eighth. With Dijkstra near the front I could easily help him into P1 then hold up the pack and wait for Lawson to catch up. But he wouldn't pass anyone. I had to drop back and take out the car in front of him to move him up the order, and three laps isn't enough to do that eight times.
A switch of allegiance brought me two fine team-mates in Andrews and Kramer though. Got them to the front at the end of lap two then just had to protect them for the rest of the race.

Nicely done @RMan72 - challenged, and beaten. 👍
StirlingMoose enters the fray at bringing in the best NASCAR team - and seems like Almirola is on a roll right now - but still time left to test out other teams. Very addictive, as the Moose confirmed - quite often I'll hit the console planning to do several events than find I've spent hours on just one and my time's run out. *groan

We know from other test events we're running that the AI can run pretty fast here - so even getting a P3 while pacing the field but with a team AI that is leading the teams quickly away is the key.
But, of course, having run many 'Pace' and 'Commander' events we know how very stubborn this AI can get when it figures out whatever we're doing.
Latest scores on that:

Online A-Spec Challenge
Cmdr. B. B. Boogity Award

Objective: Bring in the most of the same Driver #/model at the finish line. This is a team effort - player doesn't need to win; make sure all teamates cross the line before any other NASCAR team.
If quantity of cars tied then faster finishing time breaks the tie.

Talking about fast NASCAR AI brings us to The Inimitible Intimidator trophy - homage to Dale Senior, and showing us once again some good data so far - while a Montoya car was fastest in my race, it was the Matt Kenseth #20 that was faster for RMan72. Yet, we can see in the line-up, that Rman raced, that the Montoya cars are missing. Why? again, the more we race this event the more we will uncover:

I need to go back and look at the driver who was in P2 in my race and add that soon. ;)
PO updated as is up to this post.

The tightest contest here is what's happening at Deep Forest, Deep Driver - a pretty crazy race - and one in which it's come down to thousandths of a second. Some really deep stuff going on there - we're not talking a point-to point TT here but actually fighting through traffic in a most maniacal car. Yet everybody at the top coming to within a hair's breadth of each other - like the P2 AI is stuck to their tail.

Now, since this was a 'E-Spec' event it also exist at the B-Spec Hub - so I sent Bob out to do it.
He came in 16th. Twice. Not happy about that.

Well, GTsail290 sent me a tune - so having lots of time to work on this . . . there still is some hope. At the moment I, myself, cannot advance past P4. Never mind MOV.

Pushing the Mt Panorama track limits a little:guilty: I've improved my time for the Bathurst Touring Car Cup:

The Alfa 155 can really hustle around the Mt Panorama track!:)

After the race, I checked the replay and I had a nice lap-time progression::)

Lap one: 2:00.802
Lap two: 1:59.411
Lap three 1:58.456
Lap four: 1:57.841
Lap five: 1:57.315

This event should have most players agreeing that the Alfa 155 we're testing out here goes with Mount Panorama like peas and carrots. A great car for this track, immensely enjoyable. You keep pushing that lap - and I'm thinking you going to break 1:56, maybe even a 1:55 lap depending on how skillfully you handle that traffic.
Awesome job! Quite inspiring - I have to clip more than a minute off now. :boggled:

Moose event avoided? I tried several cars out and the BMW M3 Coupe '07 was the best of the bunch (1325kg after weight reduction). 1:28.367, not enough to beat Ed's target time. The car is great but I really don't like this track at all. I've nothing against walls but I prefer it when I can see them.

Here's one for the Deep Driver. Can anyone break that 2.3 second long rubber band? It seems pretty strong. I have seen the AI crash, so maybe somewhere in there there's a race where the two leading AI take each other out on the last lap. Too much to hope for?

Pace is hotting up now as all the tricks of the trade are being pulled out of the toolbox. Will swing by later on tonight to update the OP fully, and also give a quick analysis of the round at present as we head into the last few days of this round - as usual the most exciting part of the round as we head to the finishing line and all sorts of upsets come about.
Phenomenal times from you front runners - very inspiring to know these performances can be achieved given dedication to the effort. 👍

EDIT:

OP has been updated with all timesheets sent in so far. Thank you, guys, for labeling your entries so clearly and making it easy for me to input the data. 👍

Almost all the events close in a couple of days, so get those last minute entries in or any MTM cards (which you have stashed away while you are scoping the times :D ) thrown in.

@RMan72 That's a nice set of results. Fantastic job in the Alfa. What's the car in the TT? Dodge of some kind?

Unofficial results (the short version) :
E.& O. E.
All details have been saved to OP till trophies are sorted and handed out. Well done guys; those final efforts were beyond imagining when we started out - great stuff!
Formal announcement of results will follow if no discrepancies are found.
