Is that the P1/V2 or whatever it is called wheel? That's what I went with when I got my DD Pro, it was super cheap BNIB on second hand market and it's a decent quality wheel. Biggest win is the larger rim, the standard off the shelf rims at 28cm are too small imho. The buttons are not great though, I re-badged them but it's still a bit of a sloppy interface compared to the dedicated GT7 wheels.

Yeah that’s the one mate, got it refurbished for 80quid and am liking the slightly larger rim, how do you do the mfd inputs? I’m struggling chasing the damn thing to radar whilst racing, need to figure the inputs

I’m hoping I crack the 41s and get a win this weekend!

There's a sticker set on ebay you can buy to make it easier, you need to cross reference against another document online somewhere that overlays the PS5 inputs on the CSL wheel. Once used to it it's not too bad but there's one button that is very easy to hit, close t the centre of the wheel, that renders the wheel near useless until you cancel the button press, that can drive you a bit crazy. It's right near the button used for pausing the game so it's very easy to hit.

The toggle switch is good and just generally the hand grip is nice and the feel of it is nice, not toy like... but yeah a bit of work re. buttons.

@NevilleNobody Ahh, thanks for this. Checked all my old boxes in the garage with various fanatec bits in and I have this 😁

But do you use the the little dpad thing for your mfd?

Think I know the button you’re talking about as I was playing around earlier and before I knew it I was changing all the tuning! 🥴 need to reset that!

Luckily I hit the 1.42.030 just before I did that 😁

@Uday9479 did you see I passed your time by 4 thousandth’s 😆 sorry mate

Just make sure they are the right size

Lol. I wouldn't condone what the Ukrainian did, of course, but it's not surprising some seals bare their teeth and take a bite when they're effectively being goaded. If everyone drove at his true level this kinda thing wouldn't happen.
The issue is two-fold.

Firstly, higher ranking drivers often get turned off by Race A relatively early in the week, as the attendance is normally not balanced. They shoot off and win a boring race. It eliminates the purpose of sim racing slightly.

Actually, that's it. But it's a vicious cycle. So it feels two-fold.

It’s a bit meh.

It looks clumsy when seal clubbing and it’s artificial in A/A+ lobbies because everyone knows everyone so there is a lot of let them through and being streamers creates a weird dynamic as the commentary and reactions are in the moment shown to 100s or thousands or people.

There is also a lot of from us all in the moment misunderstandings etc.

The big thing here is have a pace differential and to make it “amusing or fun” your give yourself a challenge but end up complicating everyone else’s races.

What’s the point of going from the back to win or place while slowing other people up on the way when it would have been the same result had they just started at the front and let everyone else do their thing 🤷‍♂️

I'm completely fine with it Mate as You delivered a better lap. BTW, we're talking about which daily race? C?
Hey @Tidgney , sorry to bother but perhaps you can use your contacts to report an exploit that is ruining Daily C?

Seems that when they dont cross the yellow bumps they can skip the last chicane without consecuences.

It's a known exploit/bug. Very similar to track issue limits we have in Abu Dhabi. The won who stole the victory....guess stealing is that uplifts his mood/ego etc. PD will surely fix this but in a while.

Trying to chase this 1.41 at Catalunya is proving to be a pain, 1 thousandth outside my QT on the last corner and just saw it slip away 😂

Almost weekend guys, have a good friday

ah nooooooooooo nothing worse than seeing that blue counter slip down and into the red as your closing in on the finish line!!!!!!!

More newbie questions :)

When a new track comes up that you haven't raced before (probably rare for you guys but basically every track for me at the moment!).

Do you use any assists to help learnt the line/braking markers etc?

Personally I redo or do the circuit experience to go sector by sector and build muscle memory.

I don’t use any of visual aids but I know a lot of people do so try them and see what works for you.

If it’s any help I used to watch tidgeny videos and write down, T1 3rd gear, end of curb brake marker etc etc, I also tend to stick with one race all week, just really get used to it and the by the weekend I’m in the zone and can hard race. I do too to use the brake area just as a guide, not all willl agree here to that one because it is fallible but that’s just what I do, Everything assist wise I have off

Finished my week with a win at Barcelona. One of those races where you look at the starting grid, see the flags of the two folks ahead of you and figure....... these two are gonna take each other out. To be fair I don't think the Porsche guy was trying to be dirty but I don't like his move where you are both on the racing line into a slow corner and JUST as you are about to turn in the guy behind decides to dive into your apex. I realise some folks feel this is fair game but not a fan. So he tagged the Fezza who went for an extreme revenge dive and I saw it coming and profited.

Tried the Audi in a race and despite qualifying ok with it, just cannot race with it, i am too tentative.

Nice result.

I watched the replay with popcorn ready for the brutal Porsche pass, but if that's the overtake at 3:20 I think it's 100% good, super fair racing!

The Ferrari leaves the door wide open, the Porsche goes very tight leaving lots of room, and the Ferrari cuts back like the Porsche isn't there.

If the Ferrari covers the inside starting at about 3:15 then nothing happens. IMO it's all on the Ferrari (and this makes the revenge punt extra pathetic)

See I don't see it that way. Porsche holds racing line, as does Fezza, no overlap established at all. Fezza has already begun to turn towards his apex with porsche behind him on racing line. Porsche plonks itself on apex and it shocked to be tagged, the Fezza had no way to avoid that other than to take a defensive line. So that's fine, take a defensive line but now you're asking folks to take a defensive line when you're a ways back, slowing you both down.

We'll agree to disagree as I know a lot of folks say that is fine but i've never been a fan of that sort of apex teleporting move.

To be fair the Porsche made the apex and was taking a really tight line though the hairpin he was better coming off the brakes.

A little far back but legitimate to me as the contact happened at his rear at the start of the exit and he was ahead.

Overall a minor late overtake IMHO considering the horror show moves we’ve all seen this was quite reserved.

That's why I said I don't think he was being dirty but put it this way, if you make that move you need to expect to be tagged as you're ambushing the guy in front and he has no time to react given he is already in the motion of swinging to the apex.

Peach of a win mate, sometimes you just have to hang in there and hope they self destruct 😁 what was tha Ferrari doing diving in on the Porsche when he had a pen? But a them problem and you took full advantage.

I’ve been lucky to pick up 3/4 places per race so I don’t think a win is coming my way this week. Good clean racing though, managed to get back up to high B and now racing A&B and back to starting 10-12, but there’s more passing to be done back there I’m finding.

I’m also back in love with the Porsche, man that’s a beast to drive and well holding its own, but in my quest for a 1.41, this happened 🤬🤬

I think he felt aggrieved at the earlier pass but also seems the push and shove type from the body language of the car. Earlier I gave him a ton of space and he still side swiped me.

Honestly he just sounds clumsy and not someone using their mirrors or radar, add in a bit of “personality” and having a bad day

There are new to me. Where's the exploit in Abu Dhabi? I'm curious.

Once i am mixed in with A rooms i tis too much for me, I just don't have the pace. I am closing in on 2% of the fastest time int he world in QC and seem an appropriate amount slower in race trim but starting P14 and struggling to make progress, it's so fast in A/A+ rooms and it is all mid corner speed, they carry so much mid corner speed.

Having reflected a bit on this,

I’d ask a couple of questions:

When do people like to be overtaken? This seems to be a problem changing positions.

Then if ask how do people want it to happen vs what really happens?

The thing is it nuanced in a lot of ways but I think generally there is over sensitivity to it.

When they have no choice ;)

Anyway, I just want to say that sometimes it's better to be lucky. I started third in a room full of A+ and A. 2nd place made a mistake at T4. I tried to keep pressure on 1st place and he made a mistake on lap 4. 😁 Win 286

What is it with you North American guys not putting the control overlays on!!!
