I agree, although most coupes and cabs in that class are either to heavy or too big (SL500, California, 6 series or E class coupes)I actually tried a Gran Turismo when I was shopping for a sporty cabriolet, lovely car with the right trim/spec/YM but very heavy compared to the more sportscar feel I was after. Maintenance costs are scary, mechanics hate working on them.
So they very much are GT focused dynamics I found rather than sporting. But to be fair the M5 is now and the M3/4 probably a bit to focused for what most people want.
The mazer servicing costs are eye watering though, probably in reality not that far from the higher AMG stuff or an Aston but in a step change way that makes your eyes water!
