Man I forgot how much Watkins Glenn broke my soul last time it was Gr3 here 😂😂

So many places to make the tiniest misstep and lose a bunch of tenths!!! Even though the new physics have stopped the need to feather the throttle to avoid spinning, still really tough to carry just the right amount of apex speed and get out of the corner without getting bogged down.

I’m on the fence if I like or don’t like the fact the car is more stable now. Definately suits me better but less of a challenge

Well my day off racing at Watkins was a mixed bag, morning was horrible 4 races, this afternoon much nicer racing and 4 top 5 spots on the trot, this one with a p2 and a fastest lap in the 1:48s chasing down p1(quali time is 1:49.5).

Help 🙏🏻 needed from the more experienced drivers please.
In Race C at Le Mons I keep picking up a 0.5 penalty at the 1st chicane. Sometimes I am on the rumble strip and beyond the constant white line and receive nothing then next lap I do not cross the line and get a penalty!
Can anyone actually tell me where the track limits are on the 2 chicanes for this track.
Watching the legend Calster 25 he is actually aiming his left wheel on the 1st right turn to get it way over the blue and yellow rumble strip.
All answers greatly received as I am hitting 4-5 penalties per race 🙄🫣🤠
Mate do one thing. When seeing the legend Calster's replay, pause it at the exact moment his car is over the kerbs in question. Once paused, go in the screenshot mode & opt for the last option (2 feet in circle). In that mode, You can zoom in onto the tyres & see how close or in the way he has negotiated that turn without suffering a penalty.

Calster does this often in his lap guides where he wants us to know as to how much we can gain time without suffering a penalty.

Lovely work mate!!!! Look forward to seeing the next post with the big W!!

I’m only able to start mid pack with my QT and it’s been very clumsy so far, nothing outrageous just lots of bumping and passing.

I’d also take whatever Calster does and probably dial it back a bit and give yourself a bit more margin of error 😂😂

Did the hour or so of menu books before my alt could do sport mode. Then did 5 races of race B and won every one, plus one race A and won that too. It'll be interesting how high this alt can climb but i'll probably lose interest before reaching A rank and go back to my main account. Not really into sport mode anymore, it was fun grinding to the top but once you're there it's less fun and more total concentration. Likewise with an alt its the inverse, it's less fun winning every time without any real challenge. Hoping for a Power Pack 2.0

Starting from the back? If yes, don't worry, in B lobbies it'll become interesting. 🤣

for about 2 laps and then they'll wreck each other and you'll cruise to a clean 5th or better.

At least that's how it works in my B lobbies. I don't have a QT at Le Mans. I have yet to finish lower than 3rd. Mostly b/c crashes and then on top of that weather. :D

Watkins had been a fun little sprint around tonight, made too many mistakes to throw away some half decent finishing positions and need to get my QT down another 3 or 4 tenths to the mid 45’s to get into the top 5 as mid pack is very clumsy.

Managed to squeak myself my first bit of blue for the evening in my penultimate race and then managed to bin it on the final corner of lap 4 with absolutely zero pressure from anyone to ruin a P6 🤦‍♂️

Hope everyone is having a good week of racing so far!

I find it amazing that in a race that lasts nearly an hour how much folks are fighting to be 1st after the initial 3 corners. It’s absolutely ridiculous, I have been doing similar and pottering around in 4/5th off the grid and letting the mayhem settle.
Oh, that’s if I haven’t selected the wrong tyres 🛞 🤪🤠

No, I did a few qualifying laps while waiting for race B and can't remember if I got a 1:45.5 or a 1:46.5 but either way it put me pole for every race. Race A everyone seems to be using TC so they're really slow on Suzuka as the Civic likes to spin it's front wheels causing huge understeer without proper throttle control so with TC on it will just nuke the power.
4th gear around the S curves and 3rd gear coming out of the hairpin gave me the best pace. The hardest part of that track and car combo is knowing when and how hard to brake into corner 1 and 2.

Hi, guys. Sorry, but I want to stop playing most online races in Gran Turismo 7. I think I'll play a few championships, but I'm losing my faith in PlayStation for personal reasons.

😂😂 I did that a few times the last time we were there. Fuming to be ice skating half way round lap 1 because you didn’t read the weather map properly 😂

How is the race? Are you finding yourself pottering around on your own a lot of is there some racing to be had?

Winning every race should plonk you into B within about 15 races shouldn’t it? You should then start having at least a little bit of competition whilst you get back into the swing of things, if you dominate that then you’ll be back in A 30/35 races anyways.

No TC for me, granted my lines were not ideal but it's all about the throttle control. The car is like night and day between QT and race feel that's for sure.

Just tried a bit of QT at the Glen, a track I usually enjoy, I just cannot get to grips with how these cars behave now. Struggled to get a 1.46:7 in the 296, it felt like it just wanted to wash out as soon as I got the power down. I was actually over a second slower in the M6 🙉🙉

I can't say for sure but I think in qualifying the car has empty fuel tank weight. What I mean is the car handles as it would if it had no fuel in it. Whereas in the actual race both tyre and fuel is enabled so the car has the extra weight of a full tank of fuel. It's quite obvious when you do a few QT laps then dive straight into a race afterwards, the M6 was noticeably slower from the off

It's not often i get the chance to post here but today I was totally gobsmacked when I found out that I had won Daily Race C, and from position 14 start!

The reason why I was so surprised is that I turn off the race information on my HUD.

I tend to worry about who is close and such and my whole racing mantra is "Don't race the cars but race the track". So if the race info is not showing I concentrate on my hitting apex points, braking points, and staying stable and fast as I can.
So when I crossed the finish and saw I had won, I was very pleasantly pleased.
Here is finals on my race....

I want to add my thanks to all the nice quitters that helped me win.....

I also need to thank @Imbissbrunto for the wonderful livery of the 2026 Ferrari.

Got my QT down to a 46.9 at Watkins, optimal still a 46.5 sometime is there. Tonight started off with more of the same, race 1 I was fastest on track and had not one but two guys spin right in front of me and I was boxed in with nowhere to go dammit. Second race I was hit and shoved off.

Race 3 was a tight fight for the win, i was chasing p1 all race but just couldn't quite make the pass.

Race 3, I was barged out of p3, p1 was the winner of the pervious race, i waited for the barger....... sure as hell, he takes them both out. I survive and gather up the win.

Good way to end the night but man, talk about sketchy.

Did the most recent update change how ghosting works online? I've noticed my car ghosts when I brake hard into a tight corner so if anyone intends to ram they'll go straight through.
Not sure if it's always been that way or it's because my alt is in the D leagues and it's some kind of beginner feature to help keep it clean

Ghosting is super heavy in the lower lobbies and gets less and less each grade up you go

I see the Hyundai is slowly vanishing from Race B, it's now roughly 14 BMW's and 2 Fezzas in each race. The 296 doesn't have the low end torque, it struggles on initial acceleration, top end seems fine and even gains on the BMW but it is hard to make a pass. Best opportunities are actually keeping it tight through a few corners where the beemer could run wide, like the downhill left after the chicane.

I think Calster had said the 296 now is the best MR Gr.3 car. Even though I love Watkins Glen, I can't look beyond Le Mans with transitional weather. 50 minutes per race seems long but every lap driving around Le Mans in changing conditions is a pleasure.

I can't do LeMans or full ring, I cannot remember the corners, so many look the same. But yeah the 296 feels good, will be a good all round car until they tweak the balance again. Braking is far trickier now than it was before, really easy to lock the rears, especially in the 296.

I played chicken at 130R and won in this smokey tire pass. And with this win (303) I am going back into Sport Mode retirement for a while.

This race was the only one where there was no contact from the other drivers and after so many months of playing against Sophy with full damage, the contact seemed really shocking. They should turn full damage on everywhere so people learn to avoid it. Don't even get me started about penalties.

Here's the win, not the most interesting but adding it here as you can see the type of BS i've been dealing with in B lobbies. I just don't get it, guy started P6 was LIGHTENING fast but chose conflict at every opportunity, he had the pace to win. Even being selfish, once he barged past me, he reeled in p1, who I fought long and hard the race before and lost by 3 tenths, in no time. He could have cleanly passed but decided to be a total turd. Idiots.

I'm agnostic, but i adore karma nonetheless. That guy is the typical dirty driver (regardless the rank). Leaving the brakes, punting the opponent in the rear 3/4 is not being fast btw. It's a childish despicable way of racing inherent to whose belief is "Can't have it honestly? I'll grab it anyway, no matter what."

Doing the rear quarter nerf and side barge is not fast in and of itself but he caught up to P1 very quickly and I know P1 had decent free air pace. This is the same method all the cheaters use though, side contact is not punished so they dive inside at all costs and run you wide, basically verstappenning you.

Just stuck 45 mins into quali and shaved 2 and a half tenths off my QT and anuck into the 45.5’s this evening so hopefully have myself starting a bit further up the pack than last night.

This is such an annoying habit and the worst thing is that the guys doing to diving and pushing wide see it as a completely fair way to race!
