Does anybody else feel that the story won't be very good in this game, and more about expanding and new features? Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited to play it, but I just can't see it having the same kind of amazing storyline of GTA SA or IV. For those who follow the storyline you will get what I mean. A good storyline would work with one protagonist because they can focus on it, with 3, maybe not so much.

Other than that, this game is looking funky as hell, I just wish it was released during the 7 week holiday so I wasn't back at school when its launched
Anything will be better than the GTA4 storyline IMO. I thought that was one of the worst GTA campaigns I have ever played. But I have already discussed that many times since that game released.

I remember the days when the post arrived at 8am where I lived. Now it's anywhere between 12 and 2:30pm.. 👎 Ah well.
👎.

I can only agree. In my opinion, San Andreas had a way better story.

San Andreas was definitely the best story wise, it was quite sad when Smoke and Ryder joined forces with the Ballas and the C.R.A.S.H squad, the same people involved with the killing of Brian Johnson. Then to be dumped in the countryside and working all the way around the state to return to a corrupt and broken Los Santos. Its weird how you grow fond of Grove Street and its inhabitants, but that game had a huge sense of journey.

Thats what I remember anyway, good times, I should play through it again

^I remember remember *SPOILERS* (Well maybe not, that game came out in 2005) when Sweet was shot, I couldn't care less. When he came back, I almost cried. As if a best friend came back. I got really connected to the characters. (Mostly CJ and Sweet. Smoke and Ryder can go away.)

I'm sure R* will have done a good job with the story because it's their biggest and hopefully best game yet.
Looks as though they've combined everything that makes their games great:
RDR,Max Payne,MC,GTA SA etc.

Although I might be a bit optimistic,so I'll just wait for reviews.
But still,it looks the part.

I agree. I've never had a journey like that in a game ever. The game was so amazing.

What the movie Heat. If you like it, you should like the story line in V as Rockstar has used the movie as inspiration in the game (& in IV as well) since it's centered around heists.

In fact, the scene in particular that Rockstar has shown where they rob the van after knocking it over may look familiar here. ;)

This was the greatest story EVER in the history of GTA. Next is Vice City and IV, but the San Andreas storyline had that great connection with all of the characters and the tension being built with CJ and Smoke, Ryder and C.R.A.S.H, while forming new alliances and trying to bring back GSF back to the top.

And while doing all of this, CJ traveling the state of San Andreas (Cali and Nevada) to justify everything and himself? Brilliant. :D

I'm still really excited for this but some of the screenshots look atrocious. Mainly this one:

Am I the only one who looks at that shot & thinks, "His hat doesn't fit his head at all"?

Michael or Trevor may have bigger heads so I imagine that's the reason why it looks a bit big, the hats will probably be modelled to fit the head of the character with the biggest head.

EDIT: Or as has been suggested possibly photoshopped on.

Now that you point it out, no, you're not the only one. At first I didn't pay attention to it, but I must admit it's kind of strange :odd:.

The game doesn't look impressively graphically. Thankfully, it's not about graphics.

Sounds like a rated R movie to me :D

Gangsters wear large hats.

But, hey, remember this is PS3 and X360. Not enough ram for all those pretty textures. PC and next gen should be wonderful.

Also, Frank is a hockey fan?

As far as graphics go, I can settle for GTA IV level, the size and depth of the game should make up for it.

Exactly. This is an ENORMOUS sandbox game loaded with content. I would be surprised if anyone was expecting this to win any rewards for graphics. For a sandbox game of this size, it looks really good. Graphically it looks miles ahead of GTA4. Which btw is 50% off ($10.00) for xboxlive gold members.

Me to, according to reporters it looks better than GTA IV in the flesh so that's a bonus for me. As Hideo Kojima said he is depressed by what Rockstar are capable of doing with this generation of consoles.

Why would he be depressed?

Why would he be depressed?

Because he looks at it and it makes stuff like MGS look crap, not graphically of course but as a whole. One of his tweets: "GTA V" new trailer was awesome! This free control is future of the game, way higher than anywhere, makes me depress as matter fact.

I don't see why, I think he and his team are doing a good job of making a more free control game. It may not be as high as GTA seems to be but when Konami/Kojima try they usually produce cool stuff like Rockstar.

Guy is being too hard on himself, but I think we all can see why it is easy to be jealous.

I think he may be more "depressed" at the fact of where game control (the freedom to the player) is headed & not that MSG V looks like crap in comparison.

They're not even in the same genre.

^This. With all of the activities you can do and a huge map, I don't need to have "The HoTtEST GraPHiCS EVAR!!!" like everyone talks about. GTA V looks better than GTA IV's graphics and that's fine by me. I play GTA to explore, have fun and become a lunatic in the streets for the .

He shouldn't be depressed, Metal Gear has always been one of my favorites since MGS1.
Hideo/Konami have always made excellent games, even before GTA came out and will still produce great games. 👍

Plus, they are in a different genre. One is full on stealth/tactical spy action and the other is a open world crime spree game.
