I just really hope we can join the LSPD on GTA Online. I can see how that would work too:
Using your headset, you can radio in to dispatch whenever you take part in stopping criminal activity, such as a speeder, a robber, or if you need backup.
By stopping a vehicle you can do one of the following:
1) Issue a ticket
2) Let them go
3) Ask them to step out of the car and perform a "pat-and-frisk" on the suspect to check for drugs or weapons (in which case you can either seize the product or place them under arrest)
4) Arrest them on-site if they are wanted.
When patrolling the streets of Los Santos and Blaine County, you'll sometimes hear a beeping noise. This noise is letting you know of an incoming call from either a civilian or dispatch.
You will spawn in the changing room of the LSPD headquarters, where you can change into your police outfit. Officers will react differently to you depending on your behavior and your rank. By pressing up on the d-pad, you can bring along an officer while on patrol. If you have a headset, you can have a conversation with the officer.
There are some downsides to being a police officer however, such as:
-You are unable to play tennis, golf, go to the movies while on patrol.
-Performing illicit activities such as visiting a strip club, picking up a prostitute, or harming civilians in any way will severely impact your reputation and rank (there are cameras everywhere...Big Brother is watching you
)
-Abandoning your cruiser (unless it has been totalled in an accident)
New officers start in the commonly found Vapid Cruiser. As you rise through the ranks, you can eventually gain access to the Vapid Interceptor, the Bravado Cruiser, the Dundreary SUV, and eventually wind up driving the Police Stinger upon becoming Chief Of Police (assuming the Police Stinger returns).
You are responsible for any damage done to a vehicle you "borrow" from a civilian. Do your best to keep it in good shape. It's up to you about whether you want to keep the car or not. You will have to bring the car to LS Customs when off-duty to change the plate and color.
If for any reason your siren malfunctions, you need to fix it quickly by running over a health pack or bringing the car back to HQ. You will be unable to assist in any police business with a malfunctioned siren. In addition, traffic will not pull over, and you may get in trouble for "disrupting the peace". And I'll say now, the LSPD doesn't take too kindly to an officer who abuses their cruiser.
What do you guys think? It seems highly possible to implement this either from the start or an update.
