They certainly have the revenue for it. Personally, id just be happier with a better physics engine. Flying and driving in GTA is rubbish. That and a sort of "choose your own adventure" type game play, where you can actually immerse yourself into the city, be it by becoming a criminal, or a cop, or taxi driver, or whatever else. That would take it to the next level for me. In fact, id be hard pressed to think of what else could take it to the next level. The story lines I've always enjoyed. The game play in general is pretty solid. The map is getting bigger and more diverse every iteration.
What would you like to see come to the game?

I'm just happy because this hopefully means GTA will never end! The amount of money that GTA5 has generated just boggles the mind.

R5
And that's killed that hype train :(
Not for me. I don't imagine the story line economy is going to be effected at all. I think it will mostly be in the online portionod the game, and if gta o is any indicator, which is likely, it wont hurt the gameplay much, it just allows all the "need it all right now" types to get their fix.

See the problem is that online is a really bad grindfest, 20k payouts for a mission was fine until cars became $4 million a pop.

The offline has also been abandoned because the online portion is the money maker which is a bad thing. More story wouldn't be a bad thing with GTA V.

As currently, I expect that if you get in early and devote a lot of time to keeping up; the economy won't be huge drag. Of course, that's pretty silly for the stated target market. Then again; this is a company that employs psychologists and other addiction specialists in development, so.....

I used to hate Shark cards, but I kind of understand them now. I'll still never buy one but if it wasn't for Shark cards, would we still be getting free DLC on a regular basis? Plus there's some people who want to enjoy the game and don't have the time to grind for hours a day to buy a yacht or whatever, so they buy a Shark card.

I don't like how expensive cars and clothing have gotten, but on the same token, you can buy a huge friggin yacht for $8m, a fighter jet for like $3m or $4m, and it is still stupid cheap to repair cars. $450 to completely rebuild your multi million dollar supercar that's been almost destroyed? That's a pretty good deal.

Ok, but there's an argument that in order to sell shark cards the game needs to be a horrific grindfest. I'd agree with you completely if it wasn't for the fact that the $8 million shark card, which used to buy you pretty much anything, still costs the same when now it can only buy you a few cars. Idk it all seems scummy as hell.
you can buy a huge friggin yacht for $8m
Or £60 real world monies
a fighter jet for like $3m or $4m
Or £30. Still a lot of money for not much really.

That's one good thing, at least.

I agree, without shark cards we probably wouldn't have continuous updates. However, instead we would have new titles because without shark cards that is how you generate revenue past a certain market saturation. Like the old days; when the old game stops selling it's time to drop the new one. The market has changed, and many developers are following suit(see GTP news for GTS/GT in this regard) and changing their business model to match. It's a double edged sword.

You two are confusing gta 5 and gta online. At this point, i feel like you buy gta O and get gta V free. Regardless, they are not the same, which is why gta V stopped getting updates. Any new considerations or resources for new stories like went to RDR2 and GTA VI

I honestly hope they don't employ the same development team for RDR 2: Online.

I dont want chrome or 24k gold saddles and gold spurs to match that will cost you an arm and a leg...

Or different sleeves for your horse's legs...

Or different customizable horseshoes...

Or different customizable satchel bags and attachments..

Or eye guards for your horse.. you know to recreate your race-inspiried horse. Like Seabiscut or some 🤬

Imma stop before I give them more ideas:lol:

I personally never got into RDR Online on the last gen because the single player had enough to do in there to keep me entertained. We'll see how they handle this iteration.

When RDR2 comes out and you can get horse upgrades with microtransactions we're gonna have come full circle.

“I want an ACOG for my musket and a holo sight on my double action revolver!” :grumpy:

This is the first time I’ve ever seen officers using tasers in GTA V.
I think they only use them after the animations when you exit GTAO and switching characters.

Question for those in the know. I currently have a Steam copy of the game and as a modder it gets tiring having to get the game working again after every required update. If I were to buy a physical disc-based copy of the game, can I mod it to my hearts content and ignore the updates?

Nobody?

Haven't played this game in a while as I was having frame rate issues and disappearing textures the last few times I tried. Recently upgraded the 8GB of RAM in my PC to 16GB and it made a world of difference. Also turned a few other options on, including Ultra textures and changed the resolution to 2560x1440 and now it looks and runs great. Excited to play again so I started a new story. :)
