Just watched the trailer then, very much awesomeness.
If the music playing in the vid is the dynamic music then that's pretty good, I was worried how that will turn out. The driving did look a bit weird, but we only saw supercars driving, so maybe that's why it was so grippy. I always preferred driving the slower cars with soft suspension anyway
Just want to take a dirtbike or quad through the mountains, and find that shed on top of the mountain and see what's in there!

Looking at that gameplay footage again the driving physics look like Midnight Club LA. :nervous:

I seriously hope the 9F (Audi R8) and F620 shown in the footage were fully upgraded and that stock cars don't handle like a NFS game..

Rockstar assures doubters that gameplay was running on PS3.
Someone else apparently had the same concern & e-mailed Rockstar NY. Looking through the 6 pages of the thread this was posted in, it appears to be a legitimate response.

Anyone else notice the pickup truck towing the boat? I'm hoping for trucks with huge trailers.

That exact moment, was mentioned in one of those "breakdown" videos, but I didn't pay attention to it when I watched the main video.

I hope it's a confirmation of being able to attach trailers, like in San Andreas...

Hideo Kojima on twitter after seeing the gamplay trailer. :)

"I don't think our "V" can reach that level. Rockstar's team are the best. W/o question they will pull up the possibility of game."

Rockstar...my hat hasn't gone off to them since Vice City. Yet if this game is as good as it looks and seems to play from the videos and is this dynamic...only a handful of games will have my respect and it will be added to the list.

The trailer was glorious! :D

I know this is a very minuscule detail, but I can be rather obsessed with wheels so I noticed this. Could anyone tell me why the wheels are more jagged than normal on the car?

It could be something to do with the playback quality of the video itself.

Could be, but the rest of the wheels in the video looked fine. Seems silly to bring it up, just stood out to me. :D

Anyways, I am more eager than ever to play. Release day can't come soon enough!

In another GTA5 video a long time ago, a truck was pulling something else too. I think maybe a small camper. SR allows you to tow vehicles so I am sure GTA5 will too. So far it looks like Rockstar is taking all the great ideas from all the best sandbox games and putting all of it in GTA5. Cant wait!!

Am I wrong in saying that Rockstar have never really revealed this much detail prior to release? I mean if they are hyping it up this early, it must be pretty fantastic.

I will officially have no life in September.
Rockstar did the same thing with GTA4. In fact they do this with all their games. Its marketing. However GTA5 is massive so the list is MUCH longer for this game.

My brother and I have a week off paid in September and he is staying over the entire week. Just the 2 of us. No wife, no girlfriend, no responsibilities. So that week is going to be epic!!

I am hoping we can launch and return that boat to the trailer, assuming of course the truck/trailer didn't disappear in the mean time.

I believe it would be taken by the police (?), as described before, but I'm actually not sure.

It could be very nice if it stayed, and we had the opportunity to put the boat back on the trailer.

I am assuming it will be impounded and can be picked up for a fee if you own the car, not sure if I can pick up a stolen car from the impound however.

I wonder how that would work (or wont work) with trailers. Or even boats and helicopters considering you can apparently buy them now.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was restricted to cars only. Otherwise, there might have to be an impound lot out on the water & near an airfield. Unless the one in the game contains all 3.

That would be awesome especially if you could go fishing while out in the boat. I think we are asking way too much at this point. That would just be insane if it was possible to back the boat to the water, launch the boat, then go fishing.

Or it could work like SR where if your boat is destroyed, it will return to the dock...destroyed. At that point it just needs to be paid to be repaired.

New interview with Game Informer highlights:

Overhaul of gun play to open up new styles of shooting while playing
In addition to left and right aiming and triggering, there is run and shoot
When engaged in combat, character's default speed switches to combat jog for improved mobility
Each character's personality is reflected in their movements and use of weapons: Trevor's aggressiveness, Franklin's swagger and Michael's efficiency
Gun play still GTA-based at core, but have used other studios to bring aspects of RDR and MP3 over
Overhaul of aiming system to make game more immersive, split into 3 modes with hard lock removed: assisted, traditional and free aim
Car can be used as cover by getting out and staying low to avoid exposure

Wide range of weapon modifications available in Ammunation such as clips, grips, tints and other attachments
Some missions request you to customise vehicles in a certain way, the rest is up for experimentation
Vehicle customisation taken a lot further than in GTA SA
Pay & Spray not in game - replaced by Los Santos Customs stores that are located throughout the map
More than 1000 vehicle modifications available, both cosmetic and performance
You can take a photo of your finished vehicle and upload it to Social Club

Looking so dang good. I really like that mountain pic with the ocean below. Looks stunning.

I watched the gameplay video 5 times now. I just noticed something else. While in a mission, you can switch between characters INSTANTLY. Just like I mentioned about Sims and BF2 MC. However, while you are free roaming it takes about 5-6 seconds to switch between characters. So the further away, the longer it will take. Still quite amazing how fast the transaction is between characters.

Is it weird that I've been scoping out all the junky cars to customize and have little interest in any of the nice ones? Like that step-side farm truck in the gameplay trailer. I can't wait to customize that beast.

Not really, I love doing that to.

Those images surely can't be from the PlayStation version ?!
Screenshots are probably from the PC.

Not weird at all. I do it ALL the time in other sandbox games that have car customization. I love seeing the body kits and different features or mods available on the cars. Some have really crazy and unexpected features. So I am really looking forward to the customization in GTA5. Especially for the characters, the vehicles, AND the weapons. I will be spending a lot of time in the country creating offroad mayhem. :sly:

I think this one could be taken on the PS3, look at how flat the windows are on the apartment (to the right of the giant poster of the smoking granny).

I'm slightly disappointed Anmmunation doesn't have the red/white/blue awning over it anymore.

Those pictures show that the game has to be running on a PC. The PS3, or any console for that matter (at the moment) can't possibly have such great textures, particle effects, and shadows, all at the same time.

Did you even watch the gameplay video?

I liked the one in Los Santos that had the giant revolver merged into the building.

That one was cool. But the signature of the place was that awning and I miss it :/

Maybe some buildings will have it. That could be a warehouse for all we know.

Or maybe after we purchase properties or businesses we can upgrade their appearance. Its possible in other games so you never know.

Of course I did. The pictures don't look quite the same as the game play shown.
Have to agree. None-the-less, the gameplay still is something to behold, even if the screenshots are textured better for whatever reason, be it pc, editing, etc.
