Thank god someone feels the same I do  I thought I was the only one.

The GTA4 map has been placed over the GTA5 map at the same scale to show the size difference. Bear in mind as well that this is only a small segment of the GTA5 map. 👍

Actually, it might not be a small segment. But if every part of LA is explorable, then this is going to be fantastic. No more empty buildings. You can go anywhere.

Why is the middle island of Liberty City and a few other bits yellow? What's that meant to be representing?

it'll be interesting with the hunting. if you kill too many deer, the Puma get closer to homes. kill too many bear and they are put on the endangered species list. trawling in the sea for shark and you get fined. stuff like that. shooting eagles and catching exotic/wild birds for sale.

Looks like an overlay of a third map (or at least the relative size of one), but i'm not sure of what.
From what I've read, Algonquin is a different shade so that the numerous intersections of both maps don't just blend into each other & you can see the actual size of the middle island instead of guessing where it is.

Doesn't really make any sense, and doesn't explain the lines. (or the weird green bit on the left.)

Looks like LC was overlaid with something else, and then someone lifted that image to compare to LS for whatever reason.

I noticed in the trailer they were riding bikes. Hmmm... I noticed jets, and it would be awesome to see them nose dive on the ground and dance in the air. I hope there is first person view for that! I look forward to KYR SP33DY's videos, too.

I've been wanting that for years.

I wonder with the ifruit wether video messages can be received from contacts and even face time calls like an iphone to initiate missions etc?

I'd rather just have the simple call/text function for the phone. Messages with videos attached to them could be good but face time, not so much. Even for the sake of realism face time would be wasted processing power unless it's pre-rendered, then it'll be live video messaging. Now if they use ifruit or whatever as a tool to record gameplay...

Well its already been confirmed you can upload pictures to the Social Club through the phone so video wouldn't be that far out...

This is the most accurate comparison of Liberty City to just Los Santos. So, city to city, it's pretty similar in size, just altogether without 2 rivers separating it. Then we take in the rest of the map.

Not pointing at you, but I think a lot of people hear 3.5x the size, & assume land mass, when it does include the underwater area as well as everything else. Admittedly, it may not seem quite as large as all the hype pointed, but it's still pretty damn big. That, and of course, we'll have to wait for the final map from Rockstar themselves.
That's exactly what I have been trying to tell people for a long time. When Rockstar said 3.5x they were including vertical gameplay. Which means vertical up buildings and below water. It does not mean the map will be 3.5x larger in terms of horizontal land mass size.
So this means more buildings to climb, more buildings to enter, along with vertical gameplay under water. As I said before, it will hopefully be similar to all the vertical gameplay of Crackdown 1 and 2. Where you can climb all the buildings.

I paid of GTA5 this weekend after trading in a few games. Gamestop has 50% trade in bonus right now.

Meh, imo, I would rather have more horizontal landscape than underwater environment.
Keep in mind its underwater environments AND other vertical environments. Like the ability to climb or rappel up and down buildings. Which is something we have never been able to do in GTA. Also keep in mind it is talking about vertical landscape like mountains. The mountains look much taller than SA.

I was a bit confused by that map pic at first, but that definitely looks like the air strips (on the right), from GTA IV.

I know. I was referring to just the underwater environment. I know, we can't always get what we want and I know I'm picky. But I would rather have a couple more back country towns or something like the Grand Canyon than an underwater environment. Don't get me wrong, it's not like that spoils the game what so ever for me, and yes I am excited by the aspect of actually feeling like you're in a city by having access to more structures and a complex vertical environment.

I hope that multiplayer is similar to the system in Red Dead Redemption where you start off in Free Roam , but there's lots of things to do like form possees *crews* and take out gangs and stuff.
Hopefully you can do much more in the online like the single player such as tennis or golf !

Can't wait.

I'm slightly disappointed to hear about the driving being changed into a more arcadey form. I loved the feel of the cars in GTA IV and it's a shame they are changing it.
Hopefully, it's not that different though.

They aren't changing anything. The reason it may appear arcadey is because Rockstar confirmed one of the protagonists' special abilities was shown in the gameplay trailer & from the 3 described, it was obvious that Trevor's was the one most likely shown with the cars nearly missing traffic by inches.

Anyway, I'll post this again to help.

You mean Franklin? Trevor's ability is flying.
