As jb says but also say everyone is legit and someone is a lot faster due to there fast driving then there will still be doubts about his even tho his car is to spec 💡

Exactly we've had this before.👎 Please dont think we are picking holes its nothing like that:guilty: On another note a rogue car or two can alf make ya testing look crappy host.

At this point I think there will be checks, as I'm concerned about the potential power advantage to be gained from running in. Also, doesn't torque increase with mileage too...?

Yes, honestly mate trying to cap the run in boosts will be a headache to put it mildly.:ouch: As for how you can carry out all those checks without some cars being booted back to lobby is err impossible on the face of it?:indiff:

Also I see your having teams, do they have to have same car?

Checks will be done on a car-by-car basis, but once they are checked at the track, they come back to the lounge and are forbidden to enter the car settings page. In fact, I may as well use a permanent reverse grid format like in BST, but begin the series with a special qualifying event (like a live time trial, players taking turns to complete two laps) instead of the first race, followed by the full second race using the grid.

Teammates may use different cars. Whether they have the same livery/wheels/bodykits is entirely up to them, although having some way to identify a particular team (an image, an identity) is encouraged, whether it be a shared livery, identical cars with inversed colours, or whatnot.

Great I think this is the only way it will work but this way sure will work 👍

Also what about running cars in to get them to the full bhp?

I may just round their power output values down to the nearest regulation value on each case. Same with weight, rounding up.

So we can go ahead and run the cars in? Before we start testing. would make sense coz come round 2 there be run in anyway right?

You can count me in, by the way. Can't tell you the car yet, though. Hopefully I can start testing this weekend.

Mikel, well I'm flexible with time. If enough people are okay with a later start, we'll do that. :)

I don't want to cause any trouble for you. Most certainly I'll join the second race.

I'm really confused with the way you'll be checking the upgrades on the cars.
Can you explain it?

For example my c4 with your specs has 21x hp because it was already run in. Should I just limit the power to 210 hp or is there any other way? Like building a new car.

Other than turbo's its practically impossible to check for illegal upgrades/parts unfortunately.:indiff::indiff::nervous: Theres just too much room for discrepancies as things stand imo.:guilty:

Yes, it does depend on trust. But hopefully the sort of people who sign up to this genuinely care about close, fair racing, and are not your win-at-all-costs type.

Because if anyone is suspected of breaking the rules, they will be barred, and then they will be added to my blacklist.

@ mike, before the race begins, everyone is in the lounge. I will set the regulations for each car in turn. Example, if I begin with the Nissan, I set the regs for that car, then every Nissan driver enters the track. They are then confirmed as conforming. Then they exit the track, and do not enter the car settings menu.. Next car, and so forth, until all are checked. Then the regulations are turned off, everyone enters the track, and then form a line out on track in the correct grid order for the race.

Ok Tyrrel now I understand.

So there will be no qualify for the first event?

I'll just limit the power on the c4 to meet the exact power output.

Looking forward to this cup!! :)

The first event will have one race instead of two. Instead of the first race, there will be a qualifying time trial. Drivers take turns to set a time, and each driver is the only one on track when they go out - the others may watch. I think, considering the limited amount of time in which to do this, we may have an old F1-style 'one-shot' qualifying - each driver goes out, does their out-lap, and gets one flying lap to set their time. Could be quite exciting!

I should have each car's regulation power and weight values up some time this evening.

That kind of qualifying would be awesome!

So when you have the time could you please post the correct starting times for the first event so that I can organize in order to be present.

Thanks for this!!

Tyrrell can myself and Gedi reserve a Citroen each for now please will 100% confirm at a later date.👍 i think we will be teaming up aswell sir.:)

also mr tyrrell have you got any times for track's? so i have something to compare to plz :)

All above duly noted. :) You may run the cars in at your leisure.

The regulated stats for each car as follows. Weight has been rounded up to the nearest 10kg, and power has been rounded either way to the nearest regulation value. Their actual performance won't be affected (talking hundredths of a second here).
Volvo 226bhp 1300kg
Ford 226bhp 1420kg
Renault 226bhp 1390kg
Toyota 216bhp 910kg
Citroen 207bhp 1160kg
Mini 207bhp 1020kg
Mazda 207bhp 1280kg
Peugeot 197bhp 1150kg
VW 197bhp 1170kg
Alfa 236bhp 1060kg
Suzuki 207bhp 900kg
Honda 197bhp 1010kg
Nissan 187bhp 870kg

Sorry I haven't got any testing times to hand - I've inundated myself with notes!! I did at least three rounds of testing at GVS, fine-tuning each car's specs as necessary. They are collectively well within a second of each other, I can promise you that. The quicker cars, I can tell you, were the Ford, the Honda, the Mazda and the Toyota, but there's really not much to it. Ford Focus is undoubtedly the best handling, despite its weight.

Cars not totally confirmed mate:sly: interesting what you found the quickest might i say.;)

OP fully updated. Many thanks, guys, for your input, and helping me to figure out the procedure! :)

Reminder, if all Citroens are confirmed, that would make the maximum of 3.

Sorry Tyrrell but I have another question.

The new specs you updated are only for the first event or we disregard the old specs?

In the c4:
New- 207 hp 1160 kg

Old- 210 hp 1155 kg

Sorry for all the doubts.

No problem Mig. The old specs are just what you get with the installed parts and oil change (but before running in). The new specs are actually what the lobby's regulation settings allow for each car (power limits can only be set a certain increments, and weight must be a multiple of 10kg). You can see that I've kept the changes to the minimum.

So with the old specs, all you need to do is adjust the engine power limiter and add ballast to the car to reach the new specs. These are only small amounts anyway, and won't really slow you down much.

Am i stupid how can a lobby be set for 207bhp etc 210 i get but 207??? Or am i having a senior moment.:guilty: As i see it all those regulations bhp wise need rounding up.:irked:

Hi Speedy, sure thing!

John, all the power figures have been rounded to the nearest regulatable figure, whether it be up or down. For most cars it's gone down, but only by a few horses. But remember, the power limiter doesn't affect the amount of torque, and at this performance level, that's what will count.

I get ya dude just checked for some reason me and the toad thought the bhp regs went up in 10's aswell my apologies.:dunce:

Okay, I've decided to go with the Volvo.👍 Too bad there are no SAAB in GT5, I drive an old(ish) 9-3 IRL.

FYI I race without ABS so please have that in your minds if anyone ever happens to be right behind me, it's not always the same brakingpoint compared to ABS-users.

This is no "elite" thing, it's just that the cars feel much more alive (for me) with ABS off. Maybe some of you do it too?
