Australian Touring Car Championship

This series is a throwback to the heyday of Australian Touring Cars with a vision for the future and a modern twist using a slightly modified version of the new "Gen2 Supercars" regulations coming into the V8 Supercars in 2017.

In this championship, my fellow series organiser's and I are striving to achieve ultimate professionalism while ensuring that everyone who par takes in this series will have a thoroughly enjoyable time with high levels of competition. It is for that reason we will allow up to 26 people to join our series and race competitively throughout.

There will be 2 categories. The two categories are Group A & Group B;

General Rules & Expectations
As with all championships, there are rules and expectations regarding all things from track limits to race craft. The following is a summary of general rules & expectations that you can expect when competing in this championship;

Track Limits
Track Limits in this championship will be dictated by the white line that surrounds the track. In the case of kerbs & ripplestrips, track limits will be extended to the inside edge of the kerb, or in the case of ripplestrips, the outside edge of the ripplestrip. You will be infringing on this rule if you put more than 2 wheels over that white line or kerb and gain an advantage.

Track limits will be observed in all races, failure to observe this rule will result in a time penalty added to your finishing time unless you self-adress the infringement by slowing to erase any advantage gained.

Race Craft (Contact of Cars)
Rubbing is racing, so contact of cars in this championship will be rather relaxed as long as it does not hinder a drivers progress, it will not result in a penalty. Any contact that hinders progress or is deliberate, will result in a time penalty that will be added to your finishing time.

Passing (Divebombing, etc)

Divebombing, is strictly illegal and will not be tolerated. If it is reported or seen that you have employed the said technique, you will be facing a time penalty.

The 3 quarter car rule will be in place to ensure this does not happen.

Appeals/Complaints
Any complaints or appeals over a decision made must be directed to the officials of the round.the series officials will be announced closer to the start of the championship start.

Safety Car
In our pursuit for professionalism, a safety car will be in use for some rounds. The safety car will be the BMW M4 Performance Edition with the equipped light bar. We do need a driver for that role for it to go ahead.

Wildcard Entry
A Wildcard Entry is able to use a car that is FULL but cannot do more than 50% of the season. This is the perfect option for people who cannot commit fully to the season. As they are able to use a car that is FULL, they are ineligible for Manufacturer Points.

Team Championship
Teams of up to 2 are allowed to be formed to compete in the Teams Championship. Teams must be 1 manufacturer and not mixed. To start a team, please leave your team entry like this;
Team Name // Who's In It

Manufacturers Championship
There will be a manufacturers championship, but to keep it fair, only the highest finishing car of each manufacturer will get points.

Independents
An independent, or a single-car team, does not have a multiple-car team and is unable to score points for the team championship but can score points for the manufacturers championship. If you wish to be an independent, please state so in your driver entry.

If you are interested in joining this series as a racer, please leave your interest I the following;

You really thought this through didn't you! Excellent job! I would love to join in, but i am not sure how reliable i can be. Also, what is BoP testing? Did i miss read something? :boggled:

For now, i would like to be a racer. If i am an idiot and didn't read something, my bad.

Thanks, I've still got a bit to go actually! No matter how slow or fast you are, you are more than welcome! I hope to have a bit more added to the OP tomorrow morning in regards of maximum specs for each group and so on. Glad to have you aboard, Chameleon9000!

Ah i was wondering about specs. It occurred to me that you could be referring to each car as completely stock, then i saw the 86 in the same category as the M4 and such.

That actually sounds kind of fun to do! I might sign up for that too then!

You will have to message me about when this stuff is going to happen, as i have said i could be quite unreliable. :)

I'll wait to gather a few more testers before we begin testing so we can test these cars through a variety of different drivers so we can get the parity right instead if realising it may be a bit off mid-season, tarnishing the championship. As I said earlier, it's great to have you aboard, both as a racer and a BoP tester!

This sounds sweet! Massive Supercars fan so I'm keen for a replica/spin off championship :). Sign me up (depending on time slot, obviously you haven't decided on that yet forgive me if I missed it), let's hope you can get a few more!

Great to have you aboard! Once we have around 10 people signed up, I'll start a poll for time preferences so we can start either late January or mid-February! :)

No problem! Just one question, when we start testing, will you create rooms where all BoP testers can join, or do we test individually?
We'll begin BoP testing sometime next week once I find out the problem with my PS3, I'm suspecting that it is the power cable so it'll be a quick, cheap & easy fix.

It'll be in one room with some testing done individually if you feel like it. :)

I'd love to be a racer please

One quick Question. What day/days will you be running the series.

Once we finish BoP testing and get around 10 entrants, I'll start up a poll to determine the day and time. Thanks for joining the series!

We'll begin testing sometime this week with a date and time to be determined.
I'm not very familiar with BoP testing, but if it's fits in to some free time I could be keen to give the specs a run with you guys :).

I'm very interested. I'll get back to you on it.

Also, I can't find the time for the races :/.

This one is currently a work in progress with times to be determined, my main series, the (GTOR) IFFC (link in my sig) is the one that has a set time in the morning, I should've stated that in my comment, my bad!

I'll be hosting a BoP and general test session on Saturday at 1pm GMT +0/Saturday at 11pm AEST. I'll be hosting it in the Club Lobby of the GTPlanet GT6 Community Club. Hope to see you there!
