Forget what I said, it's too complicated

It's not too complicated, it's just a helluva lot more work. Trust me, if time was no limit I could make it work easy.

I was just saying it's easier to control the effects of wheel spin in the wet in an FF as apossed to an FR, it is on my pad anyway.

Get that sensitivity turned up

Anyone know the file size limit for this site?
I don't believe there is a limit. The only limit would be how much your internet/cables can handle. It's usually 100MB or something, I can't remember.

10MB is too big. Site declines the upload. Bandwidth isn't an issue here, trust me ;)

i'm really not a fan of rolling starts, but I do think it's worth a try.

wet races. that's a problem. but FR are better on the tyres. Like xflow said, we can go all day (although FR rock lol)

we'll split people into D1/2. I think 3 of each car is best, so some might have to change........

Well I guess testing went a little slow bit of a nightmare on a few tech problems here and there more on that later in my report.

Lets start at the start pre-Q 10 laps of silverstone, this sort of racing I can join any online loddy for really.
I was rear ended I was T-boned on the staight I got pushed off the track and could not re-join it as me half on and off another driver would not give me room.
It took me about 6 laps to say ok lets get mean here, it took me 3 laps to get from 12th to 7th!

I made Div 1 I think not 100% sure where and why but blue told me I was in Div 1 so I joined there.
Bit of a hosting nightmare from then on I think.
I was plugged into my virgin broadband that even if working slow it got no problems with GT6, things went on and on.
I then unpluged the virgin and went on my bt wants a lot faster in running from 17:00 to 21:00, also had to restart the ps3.
Message from blue you open a room! ok!!

Don't think we really had anymore problems with me hosting ok I think blue left then came back.
Can't really remember race 1 did we have a pre-Q, all I remember driving standards a little low.
But in the end got away with Stocky be hind me, Ian inngo and xflow and someone esle just pulling away.
Did my all to keep up maybe pushing to hard as Stocky moved up on me.
Tried a new line really bad idea bean! stocky over took me and then started to pull away.
I remember stocky 5th me 6th in race 1: 20 min race.

Race 2: round silverstone again, took me a little time to get what tyre Deg meant sorry :/
Right again I was a battle at the start seem to remember letting blue pass and then someone just t-boning him off track.
I also had to make some bad moves not really meaning them :/
In the mid race it was Ian and me Ian pitted and I think I went first, I pitted not really knowing if there was a pit window.
So pitted just to make sure I not break any rules, coming out of the pits I really made time up on Ian.
Think was in front of me when he pitted and I most of been 2 sec up on him when I came out :)

Never mind he soon make that up, and ingo5 was 2 secs up on me (where he come from!)
I had to let Ian pass hoping he could make time up on ingo5 but he was as bad as me in keeping up.

Can we pit when we like in race 2? sure there a pit window well meant to be.

Race 3 10 min race went to monaco me and my little C4 really not getting on round here, really sorry to anyone behind me.
I had to let Wambam or what ever he called past me he still felt fit to knock me in to a wall going up hill!
I can't even see him listed in the op posted?

Anyway if I'm about I don't mind hosting I just need all info on room setting, best sent to me in pm on here.
I then at least know how to set the room, blue or any one doing the spec checks and race call out can do so.
Just don't give me that job too, I here to race and that's it.
If I could deal with all that I host my own race thing lol.

Getting back to host or race maker true-blue.
Guys hosting or running something like this not easy, I would hate to ask blue how many pm a day he gets.
I bet a few a day then keeping up with posts on this room most be a nightmare for him.

So give the little guy a break pls he only trying to make your GT6 better than it's meant to be.
Posts can be missed when your dealing with to much.

Cars not matched if anyone can do what Ian doing in the volvo then pls be my guest and try it.
Pm from Ian today I think silverstone a FF track, it a bend then a straight.
But I'm sure Race 1 he was well ahead of me battling with 3/4 FR cars think all BMWs, so BMW not slow ask xflow if it's off the pace.

I stated to blue I think maybe Ian FF cars fast in a straight line there not so good going into turns like FR cars are.
The real skill in a FR car is getting it to keep up with the FF car them beating him into the turn.
Then beating down the straight again easy stuff yeah, but I've only seen a few drivers do this in FR cars.

One Skeng two halyman and true-blue, not raced with Xflow for a while but he go up into Skeng listings on fast in a FR car.
All cars battle well in my thoughts nothing wrong with any of them.
Sorry if I've spoke at of tune, just reading the forum and there a few moaning.
I not really know the full back ground on things but if I was running things no would join as I would just there the door.
Problems with host Pm him not bring it to all on the forum, blue use anything you got but not the PS to reply to things.
Anyone know why Rolo quite Btcc? think blue finding real reason.
Blue as I said you make the room you make the rules, sometimes you need to be just mean and to the point.

Right that my moan over and once I got into the racing style off things tonight in was good fun, we got a funny race maker the only one not to have SM tyres lol.
Sorry Blue that needs poking on, I've got 3 c4s now and they all got racing wets SS and SM even SH tryes lol

I was just saying it's easier to control the effects of wheel spin in the wet in an FF as apossed to an FR, it is on my pad anyway.

In the rain FR will still have a huge advantage. That's your opinion i feel otherwise but then again i'm on a wheel.

Here are my thoughts on D1/D2.

I think we should all run one more test session, lap time wise, to see who is faster and who is slower. Then we can divide them up and have D1 and D2 for a whole season, with the points scoring staying the same, which will mean two championships, a bit like GTWC's Pro and Am classes.

The reason you got T-Boned and pushed off is because nobody could see you. I saw 10 in the race, willing to bet most others did too. I finished 7th on my screen, thought I'd made it to 'Division A' until you revealed you'd finished 7th.

Seriously, anyone else see him? I know True didn't.

I saw him, he edged you out like a blade!

I saw him. I even predicted he would make the move around you.

Really I was not showing on track?

Really I was not showing on track?

No mate, I didn't know you were there. I could see you before you left, but when you came back you were a ghost.

hmm the pre-Q host was?

Div 1 me hosting I think had no problems but I had switched to my Bt Broadband not the 120 thing virgin that sucks around 17:00 to 21:00 o'clock.
And does have jitter problems, not fair to run test on virgin now it would piss on the Bt at this time of night.

But hay ho lets do it.

Now BT:

116971889.png

Hmm bt 25 ping but no jitter, so maybe better than the 20 ping.

Looking at pre-Q maybe I was not seen by some I took you on the final turn and you was pushing me off track.
But pushing me inside of track mystig also did this to me on end of lap 8.
I had two choices just keep on track or slow down if I would of slowed down my car would of gone wide.
And I would face maybe pushing one of you two of track, question why should I pull back if we even or me ahead?

Anyway I hope the replay from lap 6 helps and storm don't use your horn on me we will all see what you do to me on the start of the replay ;)
But also I may off started it lol :)

Still waiting for vid to up load maybe why we wait this little vid of me and Ian test for Btcc will make some laugh.

I'm off to bed I post tomorrow the vid of it when I get up, that's if youtube up loaded it by them lol

^^ On that ping test your Virgin connection wins. 👍

The jitter is the fluctuatuion in your ping. So the BT has no jitter and a ping of 25ms. The Virgin had 20ms but with a 1ms jitter, which basically means the ping result may fluctuate by 1ms, so potentially 21ms overall. ;)

If I remember rightly, @rolo912011 tried a rolling start once and it was a failure so the idea was dropped.

Some people just don't understand what a rolling start is, its so frustrating too!

Right, my take on the above issues.

I think rolling starts will reduce the unevenness at the starts, it may not be as fun but a bit of extra space in the first few corners should promote cleaner racing as well and ensure that those who can race cleanly and quickly are able to do well.
Overall a good idea.

Hosting has always seemed to be a problem, I remember last season Ninja hosted a lobby or two and they seemed quite stable, when I host it seems to be stable enough but my connection in fairly poor so it may introduce lag, if we test it and it works I am more than happy to host and do penalties.

Driving standards were a little lower than last season, I can only speak for myself (and I was responsible for my fair share of incidents yesterday, sorry everyone) but that was caused by a lack of tuning and test time. I think had the racing been at Laguna where the majority of my testing (and a lot of other peoples testing too) had been done we would have seen cleaner racing. I know for a fact that every incident that was my fault was a result of me losing the car under braking because my set-up was massively unsuitable for Silverstone and I noticed just before we started that I had a flat floor fitted in error (Thanks @STOCKY8A1 for spotting that) and taking that off threw my tuning out significantly. I think in the main season where everyone has the chance to practice and tune for the track they are going to race on the standards (my standards at least) will improve.

I also don't agree with people losing their choices and this should be minimized, if however you try to split D1 and D2 with the cars you have now and find say all the BMWs and all the Integras in D1 then you might need to reconsider....]

Edit: I don't think the Golfs are underpowered, they are right on the pace at Laguna and almost everywhere except Silverstone, problem with Silverstone is that it is a power track, the FRs do well because they can maintain speed well through the corners and the FFs do well because they have a lot of power. The FFs with relatively less power (Golf, Integra) will struggle because they don't particularly have either advantage. I don't think this will be a problem throughout the series and will be specific to Silverstone only. If we change the power because of this test we may find further problems because of it.

bugger i missed practice, completely forgot, sorry lads yesterday was a bit hectic

The tyres are hard work on the Volvo, you're no the only one struggling mate. ;) I got some good results but I've had a full season of the BTCC in that car (which I won) and my tune is fairly advanced. I've done over 10k miles in my main Volvo now and I've got 3 others in my garage....so you could say that I'm accustomed to it's handling.

I hope that it doesn't get nerfed based on my results today, because I drove that car hard and gave it my all. Those that have raced with me in the BTCC know what I'm like, those that haven't are soon going to find out. ;)

Probably the best underdog win I've ever seen. Barring the Scirocco the Volvo was the worst car on the grid that season. If I hadn't disconnected from one of the races at Bathurst I'd have had you though ;)

I agree about not nerfing it (despite having not read this thread or any knowledge of the situation) - chances are Ian's just tuned it well enough to find a half-second or full second that nobody expected :sly:

 Thanks Rolo. I don't think that I've found more pace from the car this time (I'm running my BTCC tune anyway), but I'm doing what I did last time, everything possible. Tyre wear is a bigger issue in the GTTCC than it was in the BTCC, the wear is more noticeable with the current format and it will only increase at handling circuits so I'm expecting the Volvo to be in the gravel at some point in the season, it scrubs its tyres off quicker than most cars and it needs to be driven carefully to preserve the tyres. I watched @CptMadBean having fun in the Volvo at Laguna the other day. :sly: I'm not sure that he enjoyed it.

when mad returned I couldn't see him either

D1/2 won't be split upon speed. it's pace, ability, reliability and conection

stupid youtube loaded it up to the wrong account lol.

Pre Q vid sorry for me moving about in recording it lol.
