Right after the "Donate your LCD TVs to the permanent home of UKGTP" appeal :D

This morning I've been hacking away at Auf Wiedersehen, Petrovic. I've managed to cross out all of the Boat races - Race and GTA Race - as well as a couple of Heli races, a couple of Free Race/Cannonball races and every other non-race game mode. I think I've got 72 race/GTA race wins to go until I get my bronze trophy  (I'm operating on the assumption that, since I can't remember what 20 races I did for Top the Midnight Club nor when I did them, I haven't done any).

I'm wondering if games which end with you winning because everyone else bailed count as actual wins towards the trophy (as they don't in Buzz! Quiz TV)? I'll find out one way or another when I come to my final race, as my Car Jack City and Deathmatch solo game wins both ended like that.

Winning by default (everybody leaves) doesn't count for anything (at least not for XBox/races)
If the winner leaves before all the results are in, and you were in 2nd spot before that, then that will count as win (provided there still is other players left).

You should be able to check which modes/races you have won in your multiplayer stats.

Btw. if there's any Xbox players here which are interested in some Co-Op, feel free to add/invite me (XBL:GTA Phreak). I've pretty much given up on getting those with randoms.

One problem with checking it in your MP stats, is that they only fixed the multi session thing for the trophies for PS3 players in mid December-- so if you did any races before that, they will be in your stats, but won't count toward your trophy wins--

I suppose you could go through all your stats, check to see how many wins for each race you had BEFORE you started collecting all your wins for the trophy-- then go back to this list later to see what ones were credited as "wins" for trophy purposes to see where you are at..

I've been collecting AWP race/GTA race wins (redoing the entire list about 12 so far our of 108) and have been putting the dates in the table I posted on the last page-- probably be a good idea for me to go through my stats now and see how many wins I have for each currently, this will narrow down what I have to redo later on if I find myself short.... I got all the other game mode ones done multiple times (when I thought you didn't need each race done.

They really need to redo the lobby system for the non road races-- if I'm a host and pick a heli or boat race, I'm more likely then not to get kicked or have everyone quit.... be nice to be able to select those races and be in a race type that people actually want to be in...

We still good for 9 pm GMT right??

See, that's the thing. They are counted in my stats (as indeed they are in Buzz!), but I don't know if they count towards the trophy (as indeed they don't in Buzz!).

Me and Famine tried Deal Breaker tonight-- went surprisingly smooth considering we didn't utilize mics/headsets... only 2 tries-- first one we were a bit slow in our time and then missed the boat driver when he drove by-- then it all broke down when I tried to flip the boat with the heli like I saw in the vid.

2nd run seemed to be going real well until Famine got dropped

In our runs, Famine drove there while I flew there in the heli-- it is possible to drive there faster then flying, so the "driver" can start killing before the heli gets there... the heli is needed for the return trip.

If we pair up in any other sessions, I urge the people to learn the driving route there on the highway (ignore the GPS)-- exit the driveway turn left, first right, first right, 2nd left and you will be on the highway-- drive off the highway at the break in the wall near just past the 2 cooling towers and you will land pretty close to where the building is-- the other person should learn how to drive to where the heli is, and land it near the water north of the building... the the person driving there should grab one of the cars in the garage as they are faster then the one parked outside

My time is probably tied up until Thursday night, possibly Friday. Apologies, but I did get 2 important tasks done.

What could be more important then Blowing up a ship for Kenny Petrovic ;)

If things change let us know-- I'm good every night at 9 or 10 PM GMT for the next week or so except for Monday---

Famine, if you want to try Deal Breaker again-- just let me know-- we can come back to BDB II-- we can go earlier if you want-- just realize I'm 5 hours behind you.

I urge the people to learn the driving route there on the highway (ignore the GPS)-- exit the driveway turn left, first right, first right, 2nd left and you will be on the highway--

Even better than that... Exit the driveway and go straight-on-but-sort-of-right-ish. You'll go up a dirt bank, through a hole in the wall and down another driveway. Hook right out of that and left up the on ramp.

Shaves about 2s off :D

The method, as far as I can tell (I haven't watched the video yet!) is:

P1 (driver): Drive to meet. Kill immediate threats then go up the West stairs, leaving any packages dropped on ground floor.
P2 (flier): Drive to chopper, fly to meet and land just north-east of the building. Kill immediate everything, then go up the South stairs, leaving any packages dropped on the ground floor.
P1 & P2: Clear out the building, picking up any packages. When all enemies are dead and all packages collected except the ones on the ground, suicide jump from the top floor. When you respawn, one head to the sea wall corner and arm RPG/sniper rifle, one head to the last package. When the package is collected the enemy boat will spawn - take it out (snipe the driver, then the passengers, or wait for it to be in RPG range).

Both return to chopper and fly back to the mansion.

Good strategy description--

but if you suicide jump, you will lose the rocket launcher that you can pick up in the building though-- and I don't think they give you a sniper rifle for deal breaker-- if they did, then I'm an idiot for not using it ;)

NOTE TO SELF--SHOOT THE BOAT DRIVER before anyone else.

Also, if you jump, you need to make sure all the packages are cleared from the building-- sometimes you can't tell if they are below you or on the ground level.

The video has both players fly to the building and land on the roof-- when the building is clear, one heads to the "pier" and the other grabs the heli off the top of the building and flies down to pick up the other player-- I liked our strategy better--- I played with someone the other day for about an hour with mics and we landed on the roof... Famine and my runs seemed alot smoother/easier or we were just very lucky.

Landing where I put the heli in the small opening of trees north of the building but near the water, the bad guys don't spawn until you or the car driver get close-- and approaching by ground like that makes more guys spawn on the lower levels which makes the mission easier.

I won't try to flip the boat with the heli again... that was a disaster-- if we find ourself in that position, I'll try to hover steady near the boat and let you shoot.

I was flipping through my weapons on the way back to the heli - hence why I ended up with sodding grenades armed instead of my assault rifle - and noticed I had a rocket launcher but I'd never picked one up... Perhaps you get given one from the off?

I don't think so, but I could be wrong...

Did you want to go again today?? About the usual time?? 9 or 10 PM GMT??

Tonight's out - we have guests. How about Tuesday?

Next time you guys organise a game that happens to fall on Saturday or Sunday (GMT +10), I'd like to join in if you guys are happy it. Sometimes I see Famine on when I get home from work (about 9:30 - 10:00 AM GMT), so we could do something then maybe?

I haven't beat any of the missions under their respectives goal times yet, but I'm happy to just do the missions you guys have not finished.

I'm confident that I know what to do. I've watched those 007craft videos quite a few times and I've read the different methods you guys have been using. Although, it will probably be good idea for me to just be backup for the first few runs, until I see things first hand. One other thing, apparently there are more enemies in Deal Breaker if there's more than 2 players, so I guess I'm out for that one.

I'll add you as a friend on the PSN tonight Spuds.

I'm more then happy to help more then one person get the dealbreaker trophy (I don't care who I get the time with-- I'll help others (or hinder depending on your perspective ;) ) although we should be going in pairs.

9:30-10:30 am GMT is 4:30- 5:30 am for me-- I doubt you will see me playing then... although I do leave my PS3 running alot for the life with playstation folding @ home (shared computing project).

Noose can be done with 2 players-- however you have to be good at either flying or holding off the noose by yourself-- I can do either pretty well if you every want to pair up for that.

For BDB II-- the more the merrier...

I did several runs with someone yesterday for dealbreaker-- he was very good but we couldn't get the boat spawn at all-- we must have done 8 or 10 runs-- he was dropping me off in the spot I've been landing, then flying the heli up top-- seemed to work pretty well... when the building was clear, he would go up top and I'd head for the pier-- he ended up picking me up to chase down the bikers in the heli each time...

Definitely no sniper rifle or rocket launcher given to you-- knife, uzi, assualt rifle, grenades...

Wowsers... We did something completely different from the video - and didn't get the boat to spawn - and still managed a 7'51...

I think next time I'll join you in the chopper and we do exactly what was in the video - landing up top and everything...

Are you sure--- I think we have our method down pretty well-- most of our runs would have been in time if we had the boat spawn--the one was so close-- if the crash land would have ended the mission we might have had it-- the next time we do this and we clearly don't have the time, I want to try crashing on the roof of the house instead-- crashing into the garage doesn't seem to end it... just telling you so you don't wonder why I did that.

One other thing I tried and it seemed to help today was using the UZI when in the building-- you can run faster with it and with rare exceptions, you don't need the longer range of the assault rifle when in the building

I am wondering if us both being on the ground when we pick up that last "package" is making them NOT spawn in the water--we are too close maybe... I'm of the opinion that nothing is truely "random" in spawn points-- if so, between all of the runs I've done, I think I would have had more water spawns.

An alternate method I used with someone was him dropping me off on the ground (usual spot) and he flew up top-- I do like starting from the bottom as I find you get more guys down at the bottom and its easier to take them out IMO... especially shooting up levels-- we kept getting the land spawn also-- he was flying and he was the one that showed me where to land (at that one intersection-- where the bikers will drive by). the same guy invited me to a noose session right after our dealbreaker games-- we did about 12-15 runs and got the time about 75% of the time-- just the two of us on hard. THis is for others who might think you have to have 3 people in game-- I'm pretty good at holding off the noose if anyone else needs the time and can fly the heli....

And a slight correction on the rocket launcher-- looks like if you pick it up in the building, and die after, you get to keep it....

Are we still going again tonight??

We can try the video method if you want-- I'm going to get in the car in the garage, if you get in with me, then we are both going by heli, if you get in the car out front, I'll assume you are driving, if you want to try the drop off method (drop you off on ground and me fly up top)--- shoot when flying there in the heli a series of single shots-- or you can just PM I guess-- do it quick though as I take a slightly different route if landing on top...

Also, if we land up top, get in on the pilot side-- I'll land the heli so it is between us and the guys on the roof when we get out...

Did you want me to grab the heli up top after we clear the building no matter what??

If the guys do spawn on the land, get up near the water and I'll pick you up in the heli, don't try to chase them on the ground.

One other thing, that one run, the first I think when we landed on the highway and shot the guys, when I turned around, the heli was gone-- why I got on the bike-- but when I started driving the bike the heli was back.... just in case you were wondering why I didn't get back in the heli-- I thought it had disappeared....

Actually, I think a combination of the methods would yield the best time - plus there's something we're doing which is preventing the boat from spawning.

I can get to the meet in just about 80 seconds by car, and landing the heli up top is pretty much the best way for the latter half of the mission. So if I head to the meet by car and clear the ranks off the ground floor, you head to the top by heli and start to clean the building out. I'll head up the West stairs and pick off the bottom 4 floors, you head down the East stairs and pick off the top 4 floors. Then I'll drop down to get whatever package I've left down there as you head up for the heli - then I can head to the corner of the quayside (as in the video) or wait in the clearing for you to pick me up as we go after the bikers/van.

Incidentally, which side do you prefer me to be on when riding the chopper? I thought pilot's side rear - so you can fly alongside the target and keep them in sight while I kill them to death. Though if we get the boat to spawn, it'll be academic.

I was reading the stats and, aside from the obviously bollocks 0'00.033 times, some people are doing 4'4x runs...

Got my plans sorted for this week, now. Friday night onwards I am free to do what ever you want to.

Ok, lets try it that way and see what happens... you drive, I land on top...

In my past runs I seem to get killed more often when coming down from the top (those shotgun guys get me)-- so may end up helping you clear out the bottom ;)

When shooting from the heli, I'd like you on the right side-- I'll be on the left of the target-- I don't know why-- just feels better more natural looking to my right (probably something to do with driving cars in the US on the right side of the road)-- I will be trying to land at that intersection near the bikes again and get them from the ground... worked good last time pretty well-- we might have a shot at it without the boat spawn.

Are we on for tonight or not--- I'll be firing up the PS3 at 9 pm GMT (about 80 minutes from now)-- I may be just a few minutes late though.

And my bad-- I thought the target time was 7:32-- it's 7:03 :(

*does the Deal Breaker dance*

Just need Sureshot's assistance with that BDB2 thing now :D We nearly managed it as a pair, but that bridge bomb really needs at least two guys up there.

Or someone competent up there (i suck)-- my guy keeps locking on the wrong guy and or I get shot trying to ready a grenade to lob in there....... I think I got landing on top of the bridge worked out pretty well though... if we can get a 3rd and/or 4th in this mission I think we can nail it... stopping the van seems to be pretty easy with 2 people-- I wonder if it eases up with 2.

Spuds & Famine got a 6:49 on dealbreaker a little while ago-- I was so nervous about destroying the heli or crashlanding killing us both-- I was going relatively conservative on the return trip--

After Famine left I got a 7:22 with another person who's been going for it also-- we both flew and landed on the roof... got boat spawn 2 of 3 times-- I think the heli on the roof might help with with the boat spawn. I think I liked Famine driving there better-- alot fewer people spawn up high-- I got down to the 3rd floor pretty quickly each time... seems to be a solid strategy.

Famine and I got dealbreaker on our 2nd attempt this evening...

Nice work guys. I can help with BDB2 if you need it. It's possible to do it with 4 right? With 3 on the bridge, it should be a cake walk.

I want to try and beat as many of the co-op missions as I can this weekend, if any of you guys are free and willing, it would cool to do it with people who know exactly what to do. That said, I understand that you might be sick of them by now. :D

Oops-- correction-- our time was 6:40

BDBII can be done with 4 as can Noose (although the 4th player on noose just flies to the pickup spot).

@ Sureshot & Famine-- if we play at say 10 PM GMT Fri & Sat that would be 8 am for rpgcyco-- would that work for everyone... do a 4 player BDB II.

Also, If you are GMT +10 I could probably play with your Sat or Sun for you, will be Fri & Sat night for me-- I am GMT -5 -- How does 3 am Sat & Sun GMT sound-- should be 1 pm for you-- will be 10 PM for me-- we can do noose and then Deal Breaker if you don't have those times-- noose isn't too bad, -- can you fly the heli decently?? If not, if you can't hold off the noose by yourself, we can get a 3rd player and I'll fly-- just need you to get in the heli right after I land (assuming you can get the kills done)

I do need you to be familiar with the vids on youtube-- see Post # 237 in this thread....

BDB II is dificult to get with Randoms-- besides the drop bug-- that mission is a magnet for griefers...

I can host again... for BDB II -- settings for all of these should be---

Private match-- slots Maximum

Traffic: parked, Peds: off, Time of day: midday, Weather: clear, Reticule health: on

rpgcyco-- because of the bug, it is very important that your router is configured correctly-- if it isn't or you don't know-- can you run a wired connection to your PS3 from your modem for the BDB II session?? THat is what I've been doing...

I can easily make that. 8:00 AM for me is fine, although if it doesn't work for the others, feel free to bump it back a few hours if need be as I'm used to getting up early (4:30 - 5:00 AM) for work.

Yeah, it'd be great if we could play then as well. I am available all weekend. 3:00 AM GMT works for me.

I'm OK at flying the helicopter (but not great) and I've been able to hold off the N.O.O.S.E by myself before. I've almost got the time for N.O.O.S.E before with randoms, but there was one guy who didn't get in the heli in time, so I'm confident with that mission.

I've watched those videos quite a few times, but I will do so again just to make sure I know what I'm doing.

I run wired connection to all networked devices. But, if you know of a list of ports I should forward in addition to the standard PSN ports, let me know and I'll do that too. :)

Just these ports...

http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=gta&message.id=503862

From the above post...

P.S. For those who are curious what ports should be opened, the Take-two tech support agent who helped me stated the following:

Please open the below port numbers in any router that you may be using.

PS3 uses ports 6672 (UDP), 8001 (TCP), 28900 (UDP), 27900 (TCP).

For access to Playstation Network the following ports are used:

TCP:
80 (HTTP)
8080 (HTTP)
443 (HTTPS)
5223 (JABBER)
3478, 3479, 3480

UDP:
3478, 3479

If you are unsure on how to open port number in your router, please contact your router manufacturer.

Fine with me, although I remember Famine prefers an hour earlier than that, normally.
