Once you set up your new account you can copy your game save to your new account.

I thought that it was not possible to instal a back up of a save game to a different account? I thought it was locked to the PSN account?

Or am I behind the news on this topic?

I'm having difficulties in understanding what the heck is WRS!?
All i found on google was WorldRollingSeries, WorldRadioSwitzerland and WorkerRegistrationScheme. I'm assuming neither of those are this topics subject, so could someone clarify this to me a little?

Edit: Ok, i've seen the enormous letters "Weekly Race Series" on first page now, and the name of the whole group as well, but what is it about, who can sign up, etc..?

First of all welcome to the WRS sub forum.

We run weekly time trial races with full leaderboard support under a controlled environment.

To register you will need to run a qualifier. The qualifier for GT5 will not be announced until the new year. If you follow the link below you will find the last qualifier we used for prologue.

The results of the qualifier will determine what division you are placed into.

this is a new feature listed in the new update:

Save Data Backup: You can now copy and restore your save data. For details, please refer to the in-game [Manual].

I have not used it yet, so I am not sure you can copy a save to a new account but I hope this is possible. Kenny, can you confirm?

Yup, confirmed.

The problem is that it is not usable.
Upon starting the game it said info was for another player and created it's own file.
This is on the same console in a sub account.

So the save is not transferable. No ubersave.... yet. It's just a backup of your save only for the account it was created in.

It's workroundable (teehee), I don't think cash is hard to come by, nor are most of the cars. I doubt the GT5 WRS will use even half the cars in the game before the GT6 WRS (...). As long as the first few weeks are sensible cars that don't require millions, I doubt it'll be an issue, the WRS staff clearly will have thought about that. Especially given the appearance of Seasonal Events, money and XP really isn't hard to come by.

Will be trickier for the more casual racer, but even then, we have trading.

That is my intention. I will gift the required car from my primary account over to my GTP account when needed.

The only thing I will need to do then is unlock the TGTT and Nordschleife by doing the special events. That in itself will generate a bit of extra cash with which to buy cars and gift back to my primary account.

There is no issue here as far as I can see. It would have been nice to be able to transfer my save to another profile on the same PS3 but I would rather not have that functionality if it means it stops 100% saves flooding the web.

I just can't wait for the qualifier to be released. I feel the same as I did in the run up to the release of the game itself!! I am that excited about what the team have in store for us.

dosnt the lvl requirement then work? for example to buy the FGT you have to be a spec lvl 24 but to drive 23?

If you are at a high enough level in your original game save then yes, no problem.
In order to buy a certain car you need to be a certain level but to drive them you do not.


I tried this out a while ago with a second account.
One of the OLR Administration (Sjaak) did also.

I believe that your A-Spec level only matters in the purchasing of cars and the entry to events. If a car is gifted to you it can be driven in arcade or A-Spec practice

With the seasonal events going on right now,five races will bring you up to level 19 and at least 1.5 million credits.

If you want to be fully prepared, you can start with creating an additional PSN account with GTP tag (GTP_Choate51?) that you can use for the WRS. Format will be slightly different from the GT5P WRS, but you can read the other stickies to get an idea.

I gifted my fully tuned Nissan, which I used for seasonal race 1, to my second account.
Winning this race brings me up to level 16.
Unlocking special events ,earning 1.000.000 credits,opening races at a-spec level expert and how I did it,do not know,but all Nurburgring tracks unlocked for practice and arcade.

If this is not enough to persuade you......then I book a ticket next summer and come in person to your house to do some races while drinking your beer!

Max the power and weight loss for free run races.
Still we can not verify all replays so also a matter of trust is asked.
Also a reason for using the GTP_tag.
Those who take the trouble to go through making a second account,running an qualifier will not cheat.
Exceptions of cheaters are from all times but they will kicked out real hard
