How should fights be laid out?

So it's Mr. Clean and me going at it for the opportunity to do the unthinkable twice? I can definitely dig it!

Also, anyone have any general ideas for the belt?

How about this as a starting point?

I was thinking of this belt, but couldn't find this quality of pic. That said, that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond my capacity. The eagle on the last page should be proof of that. We could just use this for the belt.

Here is where my experience should step in.

A belt isn't something that should be won and lost every series. Let's face it, anyone who has watched any form of professional wrestling on TV should know that matches are formed on an event by event basis and saves the tournament formats for when they really needed. This is why a tournament based series looks dumb on paper and a proper federation on GTP should be established.

We have already established who the main guys are, and we can introduce the new people on a low-card, mid-card basis so that the people who have left after the first series due to tournament space can come back if they want to after this tournament.

So I'm guessing it would be best to use a trophy?

The fighters have been created, and the 2nd post will be updated pretty soon.

(when I mean soon I mean probably around tomorrow morning)

That's up to you. But a word of advice to all of you is if you are seriously invested in this long term, then a serious restructure in formats is pretty necessary. Here is how I would break this down:

1. We have 20+ people interested in this series so far. Realistically speaking, we have enough people to do either one big "TV" show a week with two or three divisions (belts) and one "PPV" a month or split this series into two small weekly "TV" shows with one "PPV" a month that contains matches from both show's rosters. If the latter is chosen, the three divisions would break down into one Main belt that is competed for in both shows, one show specific belt, and one belt for whatever suits our purposes.

2. If a event format is to be used going forward, then this tournament series would need to crown our World Champion, and then discontinue the tournament series.

3. Start rivalries. Even if there is no way to capture them on video, a simple matter of posting in character would help push any formal rivalry along and make it entertaining.

Just some things to consider.

As with anything, if I have some direct tie to a thing you'd have to ban me to separate me from it. Hell, I'm still partially attached to a failed game that died over a year ago and another thing I've not been in charge of for two-three years. That said the key here is as follows: How much does @Grandea GTR want to be involved in this? If he keeps with it, how much upkeep is he willing to/able to do?

I say this because the bigger a thing gets, you have to devote more time to it. The advantage to this is that unlike both of the things I did, this doesn't have to be tied to a calendar. That cuts maintenance greatly, but sheer size can still be overwhelming if help is neglected.

For the tournament, someone else would have to do a trophy, that's beyond my capability.

For the options:

1. I'd recommend a one "show" approach to start. 20 seems like a large enough group, but depending on the number of matches you may end up in a bind throwing people who don't need to be against each other against each other. Granted not every match is gonna be a hit, but still...

The three belts are an idea I can get behind, but if we go this way we may think about a slight name change. GTPCW Championship, TV/IC Championship, and Tag Team Championship, and perhaps a Cruiserweight title later on if that's feasible.

2. The tournament structure would obviously be done as the build, but I don't think we have to be rid of it entirely. I have no knowledge of FPW X, but I assume there isn't a 'Royal Rumble' equivalent. So if we can't have that, why not have an 8-man tournament, KOTR style and stocked with mid-carders, and the tournament winner get's a shot at the main title at a later PPV.

3. Rivalries will fall on us, and a few of us already are at it.

@BKGlover The royal rumble is up to 4 only. I can't give a good input at the responses above due to all the stuff going on.

(UPDATE ON SERIES 2: Was in the process of finalizing everything up for preparation and then the computer crashed. So I have to go back to an earlier process, but fortunately not square 1.)

It would require some creative video editing from someone beyond my capabilities, but it is entirely possible to simulate individual card matches and make it appear in one video, if we forego rivalries.

While I am fixing everything up with the problems, predictions can now be created at the bracket over here.

Oh Grandea, you're too kind. Clearly, the money is on Ricardo Maltinez to win it all, while Thwomp and Sandman end up getting a draw in their fated encounter... :sly:

I have caught up to where I was at now and all fighters are ready!

Alright, time for Maltinez to prove that his loss against Thwomp was nothing but a mere fluke, and to show people his new and improved mean streak. I hope you're ready to get submitted... :mischievous:

B.K. Glover has something to prove too. He's retooled his arsenal and changed his training to combat submissions more. Oh yes, there's also the added bonus of knocking John Cena out of the tournament.

Booo :tdn:

Jk :p

Since I use my own name, I'm here to whoop some ass. hehehehe

Guys, I need help.

Every time I attempt to upload the recording of round 1, the process always kills itself. Anyone have an idea on what to do?
