The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes?

Nooo. Remember, the title is a compound of two words, one which "shares a vague (verbal) similarity to one of the tropes common throughout the Star Wars movies". This will be your best clue to work with.

I can't believe I got it! This one was really getting on my nerves!

Let me see what I can dig for you...

EDIT: There you go:

Something to do with Arabs, or Eastern Europe....
Arab in America (yes, it's a movie!)
It might not be it though...

I am almost positive Ive seen this movie before... I recognize that outfit from somewhere... but I just can't put my finger on it.

None of the above.
It's sort of a serious movie. And behind those glasses there's a pretty well known thespian.

If it's serious then it blows my idea out of the water

RUI
Present times as not in the Renaissance.
Or do you mean to ask if it's taking place right now?

I mean present-present, as in the last 10ish years.

Present at time of filming, ie if it was shot in the '60s, is no longer present as it was set in the then-present '60s (as opposed to being shot in either the '00s or '60s but being set in, say, 2083).

Im stumped as well... I dont know which movie this is supposed to be? It looks familiar, but nothing springs to mind :(

:grumpy: I knew it was Jeremy Irons but couldn't work out which film it was, he's been in a lot! The Merchant Of Venice was a stab in the dark and I'd discarded Dead Ringers without doing an image search on it even though I've not seen it, it just didn't seem right :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

Well done PA although Rui should confirm. 👍

Nice one PA... I havent even heard of that movie, guess it wasnt so familiar... Oh well, better luck next time! For me that is ;)

Got it at last! Dead Ringers (1988). Am I right or am I right?

👍 Well done; it was a matter of time after you found out it was Jeremy.

It's a great movie, Cronenberg's best IMO, I strongly recomend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
