Merry Easter.

Don't mean to hijack the topic, but I have a minor rant. Why, in a slummping economy, would you want to stop business, on the most profitable day of the week? I live in west michigan (for accurate discription, see my 'location') and between our biggest cities in the area, theres over one million people. Thats the greater Grand Rapids, Holland, and Muskegon area. Yesterday, the only legitimate businesses that were open, were fast food resturants and gas stations. All the department stores and our 5 malls we're closed,... to boot, it was one of the most beautiful days of the year so far, one of the first warm ones we've had,.... and you guy's who live in the cold, know how peole get out to shop when it gets nice. Is this really the best thing for our world? To shut down goods and services to a large group of religios minorites, just cause the majority doesnt want to work? End of rant.....

I'm sure other places could stay open but how many people do you think would show up for work with this being such a big Christian Holiday? Even the people who aren't Christians will say they were just to get the day off.

I dont really view it form a personal (people individual) angle, I see it from an economical one.

But maybe your right,.... maybe, there's so many people in this town that claim to have a right to a day off, that the entire town has to shut down. It does make better scence looking at it that way,.... considering we have the largest concentration of churches per square mile than anywhere in the world. Thanx DGB.

They'll be back in the shops on Monday, or they else they would have hit the stores on Saturday. So yes, business is down on Sunday, but it's booming and above average on Saturday and Monday.

Plus, what about all the Easter bunnies and candy that get sold. If anything, the marketing of Easter has increased cash flow in our economy dramatically.
