Ive definitely lost interest im freaking out also because im about to rip my brain out from waiting so long, but ill still buy the game only because ive built a cockpit with a g27 and would be a waste not to at least try gt5 on it.

It is over 5 years now since GT4. Ok We had a prologue nearly 2 years ago. The problem is that was like giving an addict just enough for a day and telling him it was meant to last him a month...People are either freaking out or going cold turkey...There are a lot of people doing a rattle out there...The Prologue was awsome...but now it seems its like the carrot and the stick...sooner or later the donkey just ignores the carrot and turns its head to eat your trousers. If you wanna keep your trousers then you have to give the donkey a carrot more often.....After 5 years it better be one damn fine carrot or the donkey is gonna be upset!

The inside of this carrot had better be extra sweet.

Last Christmas I was prepared to spend 300€ for a PS3 to play GT5, with the added bonus of having a DLNA player at last in my household.

However, now that Samsung offers a range of TVs with network connectivity (and DLNA support) at reasonable rates, I've become rather reluctant to spend that kind of money just for playing one or two PS3 exclusive titles.

I try to lose track of the time it takes for the game to release, but not the game itself.

Let's be real: The hype for this game is at -1,000, but I don't think anyone has truly lost interest in it. But it will be interesting to see how well GT5 sells in its first months.

what's so beautiful with sim games is... they can be released 5 years late, or have been released 5 years ago... they are usually still great games to play and sink time in... Forza's a great example... months before FM3, i got back into FM2... hard. Now that FM3's not that interesting, i've just got back into GT5p... if i didn't have that, i'd probably go back to GT4... I still play FlightSimX sporadically and Burns Rally as well... its a matter of reinstalling once in a while... and even tho the graphics are sometimes bad... the fun factor's still there.

it's an interesting dynamic, the longer we wait, the higher our expectations grow, and the lower our tolerance for mistakes become. With this is mind I sure hope GT5 doesn't have any underwhelming features like the PSP version.

Yes...I don't care about GT5 anymore. I don't think i'm even going to buy it. I'd rather get Battlefield 2.
P.S. I'm sorry about the stupid thread I opened. Didn't notice it was right above this thread.

Have lost almost all interest. I still visit the site daily, but I rarely check the GT5 threads. I'm sure whenever a release day is announced it will help, but right now I don't really care anymore.

All the attention I was giving GT5 has been turned to Home theater. I thought sim racing setups were expensive until I started trying to learn more about speakers. When GT5 does finally release though, my sound system will be ready. If the engines still sound bad, it won't be my fault.

Not me, I've been hyped for this game since 1997. I don't care how many copies of DOOM have shipped since. It will be worth the wait. Duke Nukem Forever!

As long as I'm not rich and I can't go drive a $100,000+ ride around the place, I will always be interested in a new GT no matter how long it takes.

And plus, no other game is offering anything for cars that really grabs my interest. Forza may have reached its peak.

I care about GT, and I visit the site for news, but I don't really care about the release dates anymore because theyre as less accurate as they could be and I don't think about the game other than when I'm on this site, ill just wait till i comes out, but ill be there the first day though

I take it then, that GT5 is NOT getting released next month...

I'm not losing interest in GT5, far from it, I will buy it on the day it is released. But, I am losing faith in Sony and its ability to delivery quality products in a timely manner.

On the flip side, the delays will give me extra time to save up for the vision racer VR3 rig, and g25/g27 steering wheel. 👍

If Gran Turismo 5 were a child, I'd be in jail because of how little I care for it right now. But I am still as interested as I was the first day I came here.

Today I realized I had finally lost most of my interest in the asap release of the game and frustration because of the long wait. I found other games that make me happy. I still daily check the news page, but more as a habit.

I fail to see how anyone could lose interest in probably the greatest racing that will ever hit the market  .

lol, maybe greatest in 2010. It would suck if nothing better came out after gt5.

I have lost interest in keeping up with the release dates, press and news. But I have not lost interest in the actual game or series, or this site for that matter. I'm still excited for it to come out and have plenty of other racing sims to keep my occupied until that time so I'm not pissed about anything that has happened. However, this is probably the sub-forum I check least now.

It's quite simple, actually.
GT games were an almost daily (averaging hours a day) part of my life, for about 8 years, give or take.
Now it's been almost a year since I've really played, and every day it's on my mind and in my interests less and less.

It's very likely that I'll be buying an xbox and f3 within the next 2 weeks, which would probably be the only saving grace for GT, as it'll ramp my interest in cars back up, but the way it's been going, I went from not being able to buy or drive the cars IRL, but being able to pretend, to just not having cars (nice ones) in my life at all.
It's not a change I ever wanted, or planned on, hell even thought possible, but it's just seeping over now.... we'll see.

At this point there isn't a day that goes by that I actually care, not since I realized it'll be at least oct till it does come out, and that's probably a cold day in hell.

Well, that depends on what you consider "better."

More cars than GT5? Highly unlikely.

Better graphics? Likewise.

Better physics? Possibly, but the Time Trial demo is already very close to real life.

More features? Maybe, but then we don't know what GT5 is going to have. I do know that I've gone back to GT4 when I've turned my nose up at my Forzas. And when I do think of Forza 3, all I think of is the livery editor. And then recall the ridiculous amount of time it takes to make a screenie... and go back to wishing for GT5.

The only real competition for Gran Turismo is Forza, and and it has the Microsoft tendency to shoot its own foot every game.

I've been playing GT4 off and on for five years now, and I expect more time will be spent in GT5, more than any other game I own.

I've not lost interest, otherwise i wouldn't be posting right now, but the way the whole PR is handled gets on my nerves.
A delay i can live with, but the casual remarks last summer by Kaz himself that they were able to release it at any point was unnecessarily raising expectations for an early release.
If he just said they were working hard to get it released as soon as possible the delay would not have added insult to injury.

The TT demo, although it wasn't really a demo for GT5, was for me at least another dissapointment as a reasonably skilled controller user.
It sure tempered my expectations as i quite liked Prologue's pro-driving physics but i will hopefully eventually get used and start to like the new physics engine ( i really want to like it, but unfortunately i don't seem to enjoy it much within the limited context of that demo at least ).

And no, i'm not temted to trade my PS3 for an X-box as i don't buy into the whole Microsoft "experience".
If Forza3 was a multi-platform game however i would probably give it a try by now, desperate times call for desperate measures.........

Although i'm pleased to hear from some here it isn't much of a alternative. ;)
