Does anyone know what the red number on the tachometer means. I'm refering to the numbers that appear when you reach redline on the final gear. The have a + sign in front of them.
As said above, the number is the suggested gear for the upcoming turn. Also, that number begins flashing at the suggested braking point.Originally posted by MacLaren4eva

Which certainly means you're braking too early.Originally posted by MeM
I never knew if flashed at breaking point?
It is only a suggestion, and you're right, for the LM cars or for the F1s you can postpone your braking a little.Originally posted by Purple Platypus
I find that it's way too early on the really fast cars, especially the Le Mans cars. But, the suggested gear is usually correct, there are just a few corners here and there where you can go faster or need to go slower.

But nearly every new racer, in the game and in real life, tends to brake too late. 80% of the handling problems people complain about here are the result of overcooking the corners, so the brake point suggested by the flashing number is a good place to start.
Has anyone noticed numbers apearing in the middle of the tachometer?
