Have you watched movies on your PS2?

Yeah I did but only once, I watched my Rush Hour DVD movie on the PS2, no problems. I like watching it on the evening to night :shades:

When i hook my ps2 up to my tv through the video there was some picture disturbance whilst i was watching DVDs but it works fine when i connect straight to the TV

I have watched DVD's and such on my PS2. There is a problem though, the volume is never loud enough. I can have my T.V. maxed out with volume yet I cant hear the movie. I always have to sit close.

Any advice?

Go into the audio properties while the DVD is playing. You'll find a DVD volume option - set it to +1 or +2. That always worked for me.

Or, start saving your pennies for a separate DVD player. I have a relatively inexpensive Panasonic that walks all over the PS2 in terms of sound, visuals, and interface: 👍

same thing happend to me and my friends ps2........i have to have the volume really high to hear it.....either that or i just turn captions on

I have seen the ps2 freeze up in the middle of a DVD (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back---rented) and the color clarity and picture quality are noticeably degraded from midlevel DVD players I have seen. I will bet a buck that it beats the $79.99 dvd players with no names on the front though!

Nowadays I watch most of my movies on my PS2. Connected to the mini-theater thingy I have going on, I have no problems in sound, visual, etc. The remote works wonders too.

Well, to be honest one of the main reasons i bought a PS2 was becos of the DVD function, and i think it is quite good and does the job a DVD Player should do, i have bought dvd region

No, I haven't watched single movie on my PS2 and the only game I've played is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

My PS2 sits right on top of my DVD player so I see no point in watching a DVD on my PS2.

I know it works like a charm on the 5.1 but haven't tried out the S-component as I do not have anything better than 24" Vega. I may twiddle with the S-componant if I get a bigger TV.
