As you'll be aware by now, GT7 has engine swaps! Yay! 🎉 The mechanism seems to entirely luck-based, so in these early stages we don't know what engines are available and what cars they fit in. I've created this thread so that the cloud-computing-mind of GTPlanet can do what it does best...

I have one engine and it’s the RX-7 motor. I swopped it into the NA Miata. This thing is a handful but I am getting a tune for it dialed in. So it’s actually pretty drivable now. To my surprise, the engine swop also swops over the shift buzz sound from the transmission. It’s a fun little touch

I won an engine for some american muscle car but can't use it in anything else than that muscle car and it's basicly the same engine that's already in it, so it's just a replacement engine :S

No. And it’s just one more thing that’s really grating about this so-called game. Played daily for over 2 months, no engines, now it’s basically the only reason I still switch on to do a race every two or three days - to get the mileage tickets to see if an engine will ever be granted. I’m having doubts about the people who created this thing - are we guinea pigs in some giant psychology experiment? How hard can it be to program it so everyone gets an engine every x-number of days they do the mileage? How can some people already be on 4 and some of us on zero? Fun? Such bad design in so many ways.

In all my time I’ve never had a gold bar. Not even a single one. Engine swaps seem to show up regularly and I’ve won four. There must be some other quirk to the roulette which determines what you get.

I have one, and luckily it's one of the best in the game - the 787B swap for the RX-7. Easy 300+ mph at Route X. 😎
Although I'm still holding out hope for some of the other swaps - in particular the VR38 for the Lancia Delta, the LS7 for the S13 Silvia and the K20 for the '65 Mini.

I have won one carbon propshaft for a car I don't use and a couple of cars. All other wins have been the lowest available cash prize. 99.8% of the time!

Honestly if it's not the lowest cash price it's probably some worthless part for a car I don't care about. At least it gives me a belly laugh every single time it pretends to be random.

Swap between normal and hard depending on what I'm doing.

Started the game on normal and saw the odd one here and there, then they vanished!

Well, it seems I am as unlucky here in GT7 as I was in GT Sport.
In GT Sport, I neither got that special livery Audi R18 nor any car worth more than 3 millions.
And in GT7, no engines as of yet. Hell, didn't even see one for like a month in the roulette. I also only got about 2 invites (luckily I don't need them anymore), a few selected special tuning parts and the occasional car. 90% of the time it's the least money prize I can get.
At this rate I believe I'm cursed and will never be lucky enough to get such an engine unless PD changes this and lets us buy engine swaps, but I doubt this will ever happen.
